Kerry: U.S. Pledges $60M in NEW AID to Syria Opposition.....

Here was the piece I was looking for.....yet Team Obama is going to give them an extra 60 million in aid. Despite the Saudis giving them 300 million and despite Obama putting them on the terrorist watch list.

Syrian rebels defy US and pledge allegiance to jihadi group.....
Rebel groups across Syria are defying the United States by pledging their allegiance to a group that Washington will designate today a terrorist organization for its alleged links to al-Qaeda.

A total of 29 opposition groups, including fighting "brigades" and civilian committees, have signed a petition calling for mass demonstrations in support of Jabhat al-Nusra, an Islamist group which the White House believes is an offshoot of al-Qaeda in Iraq.

The petition is promoting the slogan "No to American intervention, for we are all Jabhat al-Nusra" and urges supporters to "raise the Jabhat al-Nusra flag" as a "thank you".

"These are the men for the people of Syria, these are the heroes who belong to us in religion, in blood and in revolution," read a statement widely circulated on Syrian opposition Facebook pages.

Although Jabhat al-Nusra remains separate from the Free Syrian Army, many FSA leaders now recognise its strength and order their forces to cooperate with it.....snip~

Of course now they are one of the leading groups in the Opposition. Anyone else see this play?

Nobody really knows what these 'rebels' have on their minds but odds are, judging from recent history in the area, it's going to be all Islam all the time. It's the Islamist spring, and democracies winter.

Obama continues to support Islamism in the Middle East and, from what we have seen by his reaction to Benghazi, will condemn anyone who is critical of Islam. Almost all the leaders are falling recently and being replaced by Islamists.

Well, we cannot change the fact that we put this group on the Terrorist list.....moreover how does Team Obama now explain away giving terrorists US Aid and Assistance? Meaning now that Kerry has just admitted to giving them support.

But we do know......it's called the United States of Islam. Where their version of Democracy is a bit different than ours. But as long as they hold elections we all good, Right?

He does seem top have his spending priorities in order.

Not to mention the Federal jobs Obama says will be cut. But go take a look at some of the Jobs for the Fed that are open. Most of those Jobs with the Military are Non Essential personnel. Yet Jobs all ranging from the 120's to the 180's. Clerks that make 90k as opposed to civilian counterparts at 46k.

Also Obama isn't just releasing immigrants he has released Taliban back to Afghanistan and now he is preparing to release more.

Plus Qatar and the Saud are leading the way with the Money. So what need is there for us to put this money into Syrian Rebels hands? Especially when we know AQ, Nusra Al Islam, the MB, and other Islamist Radicals are all involved with the Rebels and in many cases. Leading the offensive against Assad.

Okay I'm going to have to question this. CLERKS making $90K? I doubt very seriously that they have job openings for clerks at $90K. I'm not even sure that a clerk with 30 years of service, is making that.

Yeah, I misspoke it was Assistant Administrator. But you can look up some of the jobs they have open. I heard Senator Coburn was looking them up this morning too. As he was going to send a letter off to the White House about them. Point being was Obama saying that such would affect the Military and National Security. But like I said any looking for jobs can check the web sites for themselves.

If people want to come up with some of the Absurd Positions they do have open and post them up. I wouldn't Object.

I'm not saying close up like a turtle but when Americans are suffering I'd rather the money go to Americans first and foreigners second.

The spending is out of control. Obama and congress are all at fault for that.

That is simply not true, you have been duped into believing a blatant lie.. The House Republicans will not be satisfied until they put us back into another recession. We need to vote them out in 2014 before it is too late. Our jobs depend on it.

Federal outlays over the past three years grew at their slowest pace since 1953-56, when Dwight D. Eisenhower was president. Expenditures as a share of the economy sank last year to 22.8 percent, their lowest level since 2008, according to Congressional Budget Office data. That’s down from 24.1 percent in 2011 and a 64-year high of 25.2 percent in 2009, when Obama pushed through an $831 billion stimulus package. “If you strip out the stimulus, discretionary spending over the last few years has been quite modest and is scheduled to go to levels we haven’t experienced in modern times,” Robert Reischauer, a former director of the CBO,

Really.....from your own link.

If you strip out the stimulus, discretionary spending over the last few years has been quite modest and is scheduled to go to levels we haven’t experienced in modern times,” Robert Reischauer, a former director of the CBO, said in an interview. “Obama signed on to that,” partly in response to Republican pressure.

Even if the U.S. succeeds in bringing down its deficit to manageable levels in the next few years, it still faces structural spending pressures in the long-run stemming from the aging of the society, according to both Hatzius and Darda.

The U.S. has a large long-term budget imbalance,” Hatzius said.....snip~

Then there is that 5.5 trillion in Foreign Debt that's gone up Under Team Obama.....

$5.5T: U.S. Foreign Debt Up 78% Under Obama.

At the end of January 2009, when President Barack Obama was inaugurated, the U.S. government owed $3,071,700,000,000 to foreign interests. Since then the U.S. government’s debt to foreign interests has increased by $2,410,500,000,000—or 78 percent. - See more at: $5.5T: U.S. Foreign Debt Up 78% Under Obama | CNS News .....snip~

Looks Like the CBO and those former CBO members have called it correctly. Obama's 10year outlay doesn't balance. Which partly comes from the CBO who keeps finding hidden costs in Obama's Policies.

I love how you point out how much foreign debt we have like it is a bad thing. Since when is faith in America a dirty word? Here's a clue, foreign interests are buying our bonds because they are the safest investment on the planet. Is that what you hate about Obama? That he makes our currency the most respected in the world?
I think I see why you guys are so mad....Obama is winning and so are the American people who overwhelmingly support his ideas and principles.

Yeah, I pointed it out but after that main fact from your link about Obama's Stimulus. Moreover this changes nothing about the CBO constantly finding hidden costs in Obama's Programs and policies, then pointing out how his numbers don't match up.

So what do you have to say about Obama supplying those who he put on the Terrorist list.....Did you want to make an excuse for upping 60 Million to those Syrian Rebels when 29 Opposition groups are outright pledging themselves to the same very group Obama calls Radical, especially since he is running around the Country Crying Wolf with Doom and Gloom?

Hillary gave them 385 million and we are not even officially involved, and you don't think the Saudis and the Qataris are giving them enough as well as Arming them? Spending has to stop somewhere and Syria is not a threat to US National Security. So there is no excuse for Obama using any EP with this endeavor. Like he did with Libya. We need not interfere in this Civil War at all. Moreover let the Sunni stand on their own and make the play without needing everyone else to come and help them fight their battles.

Perhas he says it because it is a bad thing. For whom is having debt so large that it can never be repaid a good thing? In fact for whom is debt a good thing at all? It may be necessary in some cases, but it is never good. The federal government should never be in debt. It is in debt because it is incompetently managed. It always has been.

Faith in America? I don't have faith in Americans any longer. The U.S. is in a downward spiral. I certainly wouldn't invest in it if they sold stock in it. If you've ever read the history of the declining days of the Roman Empire, then you too should see the parallels to what we Americans tend to believe and do at present.

You know we used to say "If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem" I think your attitude exemplifies that. America is the greatest nation that ever existed but it needs a people that supports its goals, not those that wish to undermine them. You probably don't belong here.

Once again, this just goes to show that the elites do not care about the people of the US, but rather furthering their own interests at home and abroad.

U.S. increases aid to rebels in effort to pressure Syrian President Bashar Assad to step down.....

ROME (AP) — The Obama administration said Thursday that it will provide the Syrian opposition with an additional $60 million in assistance and — in a significant policy shift — will for the first time provide nonlethal aid like food and medical supplies to rebels battling to oust President Bashar Assad.

092f061c212bc9072a0f6a70670018db-4_3_r536_c534.jpg

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announced the new support and the decision to back the rebel fighters on the sidelines of an international conference on Syria in Rome, where European nations were also expected to signal their intention to provide fresh assistance to the opposition, possibly including defensive military hardware.

He said the U.S. decision is designed to increase the pressure on Assad to step down and pave the way for a democratic transition. The aid is also intended to help the opposition govern newly liberated areas of Syria and blunt the influence of extremists.

Kerry said Assad "is out of time and must be out of power."

Washington has already provided $385 million in humanitarian aid to Syria's war-weary population and $54 million in communications equipment, medical supplies and other nonlethal assistance to Syria's political opposition. The U.S. also has screened rebel groups for Turkey and American allies in the Arab world that have armed rebel fighters.....snip~

Kerry: U.S. pledges $60M in new aid to Syria opposition
Associated Press 7:18a.m. EST February 28, 2013 <<<<< More here!

"Oh".....so it's Okay for Obama to just up and throw 60 million Dollars to the Syrian Rebels. Already Team Obama has sent 385 million dollars to these Rebels. Plus now Obama is going to also give them Food and Medical. What a joke this. First he says we wont give them weapons.....because we know AQ and other Radical Islamists are part of them. That we will not assist our enemies. Yet we can give them what Kerry is calling soft aid. Why would we give AQ or any of their Affiliates or groups like them any type of Aid?

Here Obama is running around the country talking about how The Sky is falling all due to Seaquestration. First Responders will be laid off, schools will close, teachers will be laid off. Air traffic controllers will lose jobs. The Military will be affected, National Security. Yet Little Boy Blue that keeps blowing his Horn and crying Wolf(Blaming Republicans) just ups and sends Kerry out with a Check to Syria. Imagine that.....and all in a hurry to.

Why are we even sending our Enemies any Aid while Kerry talks about HOPING for a Democratic Transition? Especially since the Suadis are giving these Rebels 300 million. Yep.....that's 300 million from the New Masters of Syria. Here Team Obama is going to push to help the Sunni take over the Country while the MB assists in that endeavor. Yet.....we need to reign in Spending.

IMO this not justified to the American People. Not when our Economy is struggling and certainly not justified in giving Aid to our Enemies. Nor is it justified when Team Obama doesn't have to answer any questions over this. Where is Kerry getting the Money? Who in Congress has pledged to give this money to the Syrian Rebels. What should take place is Congress telling Kerry.....NO! There wont be no money going to Syria just so they can turn around and spend it for Weapons, and then later on to attacks us.

Rightwingers have been complaining that Obama has not done enough to support the Syrian opposition. Now that he's doing more, the right is complaining that he's doing too much

Gee, never saw that one coming

Correction.....Neo Cons and John McCain have been complaining he hasn't been doing enough in Syria. Not to mention I didn't see the left have any problem to taking it to Bush over his screw ups with Foreign policy and the blame game.

Yet do explain putting a Group on the Terrorist list......then talk about not arming these Rebels, but then support them with aid. Then talk about not getting involved but then throw 385 million into a civil war that has nothing to do with us, really. Then officially recognizing the Syrian Opposition with the French. Explain how that works while running around the Country and getting on TV and talking about cutting the Military and Affecting National Security.

I can't help but wonder why the government views the Syrian rebels as good for our best interests. To me it is bad guys against bad guys. We should ignore it totally.

the President and Congress can't agree on a budget, yet Obama wants to give away 60M to some rebels.
Seems this money would be a place to start the cuts rather than domestic programs.

Also with using our resources to help the French in Mali and like we did in Libya. Just like when Obama blew off all those Tomahawks. Knowing they would have to be replaced by the beginning of 2012. Course allowing others to use our resources rather than provide their own. Another place to start with saving some money and especially overseas.

What are America's goals these day?

And the Children!!! For God;s sake, what about the children!!!. (I'm talking Head Start here)

Luckily for me I bought stocks in Kool Aid as soon as Barrack was elected. He may be full of crap but he's made me a rich man!

Right, learning from history is for sissys. Let's keep making the same mistakes over and over. If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Why not? both are about as insane and authoritarian as one could get..

Progressives no longer shock me with their nonsense.

Kerry: It's more important to give $60M to Al-Qaida in Syria than it is to keep schools and meat inspectors and first responders and hospitals running in the US.

Way to go John. You know this $60M could have provided a lot of flu vaccines for elderly Americans.
