U.S. increases aid to rebels in effort to pressure Syrian President Bashar Assad to step down.....

ROME (AP) — The Obama administration said Thursday that it will provide the Syrian opposition with an additional $60 million in assistance and — in a significant policy shift — will for the first time provide nonlethal aid like food and medical supplies to rebels battling to oust President Bashar Assad.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announced the new support and the decision to back the rebel fighters on the sidelines of an international conference on Syria in Rome, where European nations were also expected to signal their intention to provide fresh assistance to the opposition, possibly including defensive military hardware.

He said the U.S. decision is designed to increase the pressure on Assad to step down and pave the way for a democratic transition. The aid is also intended to help the opposition govern newly liberated areas of Syria and blunt the influence of extremists.

Kerry said Assad "is out of time and must be out of power."

Washington has already provided $385 million in humanitarian aid to Syria's war-weary population and $54 million in communications equipment, medical supplies and other nonlethal assistance to Syria's political opposition. The U.S. also has screened rebel groups for Turkey and American allies in the Arab world that have armed rebel fighters.....snip~

"Oh".....so it's Okay for Obama to just up and throw 60 million Dollars to the Syrian Rebels. Already Team Obama has sent 385 million dollars to these Rebels. Plus now Obama is going to also give them Food and Medical. What a joke this. First he says we wont give them weapons.....because we know AQ and other Radical Islamists are part of them. That we will not assist our enemies. Yet we can give them what Kerry is calling soft aid. Why would we give AQ or any of their Affiliates or groups like them any type of Aid?

Here Obama is running around the country talking about how The Sky is falling all due to Seaquestration. First Responders will be laid off, schools will close, teachers will be laid off. Air traffic controllers will lose jobs. The Military will be affected, National Security. Yet Little Boy Blue that keeps blowing his Horn and crying Wolf(Blaming Republicans) just ups and sends Kerry out with a Check to Syria. Imagine that.....and all in a hurry to.

Why are we even sending our Enemies any Aid while Kerry talks about HOPING for a Democratic Transition? Especially since the Suadis are giving these Rebels 300 million. Yep.....that's 300 million from the New Masters of Syria. Here Team Obama is going to push to help the Sunni take over the Country while the MB assists in that endeavor. Yet.....we need to reign in Spending.

IMO this not justified to the American People. Not when our Economy is struggling and certainly not justified in giving Aid to our Enemies. Nor is it justified when Team Obama doesn't have to answer any questions over this. Where is Kerry getting the Money? Who in Congress has pledged to give this money to the Syrian Rebels. What should take place is Congress telling Kerry.....NO! There wont be no money going to Syria just so they can turn around and spend it for Weapons, and then later on to attacks us.

Also Obama isn't just releasing immigrants he has released Taliban back to Afghanistan and now he is preparing to release more.

Plus Qatar and the Saud are leading the way with the Money. So what need is there for us to put this money into Syrian Rebels hands? Especially when we know AQ, Nusra Al Islam, the MB, and other Islamist Radicals are all involved with the Rebels and in many cases. Leading the offensive against Assad.

Closing up like a turtle is not a foreign policy and budget cuts are not a domestic policy either. Bohner can end the sequester with one vote but has refused to do so. The claim they don't like it but won't hold a vote on repealing it. There is no end to the hypocrisy.

I'm not saying close up like a turtle but when Americans are suffering I'd rather the money go to Americans first and foreigners second.
