White House threatens Bob Woodward

Good for him. However in the age of the internet, sources are important. Otherwise your word is worth nothing.

FWIW, I don't think Bob was "threatened" per say... I think "pressured" is a bit more accurate of a term...every administration tries to pressure and manipulate the press.

And I don't think he was pressured or threatened. Having now read the e-mails, I think he was told he'd be wrong on his opinion eventually. Hardly the kind of behaviour you'd call threatening or pressuring. The guy was told he was wrong and would be proven wrong. That's nothing out of the norm in Washington. Hardly the threat Woodward & right wing posters on this board made it out to be.

I don't always agree with Woodwards conclusions... but I don't doubt his credibility

Don't doubt it. Read the e-mails which have been released. Anyone who's not an idiot would realize that what was written and Bob Woodward's reply to it debunk any attempt to label it as a threat.

well, don't hold your breathe waiting for sources to be named by good reporters....they like to protect their sources as to maintain access.

Woodward has credibility... is absurd to argue his word means nothing.... absolutely absurd.


of course he's being pressured... being yelled at for 30 minutes by a white house aide is the epitome of "being pressured".

I always had enormous respect for Woodward, having become politically aware as Watergate was happening. I've felt for a while that he is slipping, losing perspective. I hope he's not going to end up like some of them have, seeking a story that reflects the scoop that made their reputation. What a shame.

Obama survives because the media is in his pocket. If they ever rebel and start telling the truth about him, he is gone. He will be laughed out of the White House along with all of his worthless relatives.

It may not be a dream much longer. Lanny Davis has now come forward and said that he was threatened also. Once a chink in the armor is found, others will begin chipping away at it. Why? Because it's fun.

I don't particularly doubt him on any of it. However, it's always funny that when a reporter is putting down "your guy" he's wrong, but when he's putting down "the other guy" he's an oracle of truth.
