Secret funding helped build vast network of climate denial thinktanks

Yes i know what heat trapping gas is, and i also know that we didnt invent it. I know that we can turn off every source of man made heat trapping gas, and will not eliminate it from our atmosphere. You call my argument simplistic and the only thing you can reply to is that your bored. Big deal. Climate change is as natural as natural selection. For all you know, the earth would benefit from a few extra degrees. Speaking of strawman arguments (a fallback argument) lets hear what you have to say next. Another rehash no doubt.

Nonsense arguments aside:

Climate Change: Causes

The industrial activities that our modern civilization depends upon have raised atmospheric carbon dioxide levels from 280 parts per million to 379 parts per million in the last 150 years. The panel also concluded there's a better than 90 percent probability that human-produced greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide have caused much of the observed increase in Earth's temperatures over the past 50 years.

LOL See what I mean. Ask a question, the low information voters tell you, you don't even know the difference between a meteorologist and a climatologist! Uhm, Hatuey, we're talking about weather.

Actually, you don't know the difference between a meteorologist and a weatherman. You made that painfully obvious from the get-go. Meteorologists don't predict the weather. That's what weathermen do.

Challenge for you. Btw, you still haven't answered the question. Of course you liberals never do, off to distractions. Here's your challenge define "climatologist" without using the word "weather". Oh and call every news station in America and tell them to fire all the meteorologists because they only need "weathermen".

I never have figured out how liberals can avoid the convoluted illogical webs they spin. Then again, they're liberal.

Liberals never answer questions??? How do you come to that conclusion? and if you come to a conclusion that "liberals never answer questions", how do you then go on to accuse liberals of illogic?

THAT is illogical, ironically enough.

And is making a topic about liberals this and that going "off to distraction"???

That's unfair. Obama is shutting down what little is left of American manufacturing as fast as he can.
He can't just turn over our entire economy to other countries overnight you know.

How does Obama turn our entire economy, ie: private industry, over to other countries? and are you of the belief that jobs have been moved overseas only in the last four years?

Hmmmmm......'Pub bubble.

There are billions of inhabitable planets, what's so special about this one? When we are done, the best and brightest will just fly off to the next one.

Hmmm....Oceandan hasn't answered my questions. Must be a lib, at least according to himself.

Repeat your question I'll be happy to answer.

Repeat your question I'll be happy to answer.

What is your source that shows that LIBERALS don't answer questions and that it's BECAUSE they're liberal that they do, and, by default, that conservatives ALWAYS answer questions.

And, if liberals are illogical, how it is that saying only liberals are illogical is logical.

Thanks.

Can we please move this thread to the fiction/religious cult section?

Hey now.

Climate change denial is pretty stupid, but it's not a cult.

But the confession came from within IPCC. My point is, both sides are politicized.

Because the Daily Mail said so? You understand that's a tabloid, right?

Well I guess we'll just fire up the ol' interstellar ships we have on standby then.

Real scientists have mountains of data pointing to climate change as fact. Skeptics have a lot of hot air. Most people see through the smoke and mirrors; it really isn't that hard to notice climate change.

The only thing open for debate is if anything can be done about it. I tend to think no.

Oh no, im boring you? Watch out everybody, Hatuey is getting bored!!!!! I never said man doesn’t have an effect on the ecosystem, but your comparing a ruined waterway, to global warming. You build a city, you remove the ecosystem that existed in its place, you cant always have both unless your advocating we live in trees. I know what "climate studies" attribute to rising sea levels, but they also attribute the same thing to the dwindling polar bear numbers, which as it turns out, aren’t dwindling at all. Its not realistic to think we can exist in our environment without causing a change in it. Our very existence dictates that! That doesn’t mean that every change our environment experiences is our fault, or that it wouldn’t happen with or without us.
Nobody is just assuming that every change is our doing. That's what all the research is for.

Cat's out of the bag. The funding demonstrates that the conservative agenda is not about actual science, but preserving their business model.

And although these think tanks have influence over government, the people donating to them can remain anonymous. Clandestined financial cabals such as these are the reason why democracy is threatened in most of the western world. They can use their massive fortunes to sway government without the public ever knowing who they are.

As a democratic people, we must stand up and insist our government create legal reforms that prevent lobbying on this massive scale.

Does that mean you want to abolish the environmetal lobby, too?

This is a joke right? You need a source? Open your eyes. Ask Debbie Wasserman if the sun will rise in the east. Her response, "Republicans want to waterboard seniors so they can give tax breaks to the rich".

This is a joke right? You need a source? .

Yes. Please provide it. It's quite a statement, UNLESS You believe that Debbie Wassserman-Schultz is the only liberal in the world. But even then, I'm pretty sure I can probably get videotape of her answering questions.

But what is your source that has you concluding that "liberals never answer questions"? I mean, you had to have gotten that from somewhere, considering that there are millions of liberals in the world, let alone in the US.

No source needed. Simple observation.

The simple part is hands down, but the observation part still needs a lot of work.

This is has been going on for some time.

A lot of the old cigarette company shills came to work for big coal back in the 90s.

No one is denying climate change, what's being denied is that the United States is the sole cause of it. Or that Man is the sole cause of it. Here is where you see the most complaining, and the UN policies are primarily pointed at the US. When I see our leftwingers going to China and protesting in Tiananmen Square, I'll think about taking them seriously. And then there's Al Gore stuffing his pockets full of money trading carbon credits.....

IMO, the problem of global warming will accelerate when China and India get up online. There is no stopping it. Once their billions get on the highway it'll be we either run out of oil or choke on all their exhaust. I doubt that any "alternative" will help either because just manufacturing 2.5 billion cars, whether they are electric, natural gas, or even if they are driven by something not even yet available, will destroy what's left of the environment.

So, we might as well sit back and enjoy the view as the planet rapidly goes to crap. There are simply too many people on it.

At the current time, if we stop using hydrocarbon fuel, the number of people will drop by about 80 %.
Starvation by any other name is still ugly!
