I'm a religious individual but it's one thing to not believe in God and it's another to attack those who do. The atheist movement is obsessed with attacking believers or those of faith...I have my opinions, views and faith but I really don't enjoy playing dictator as those of "anti-faith" and I suppose those of faith do - and certainly that is what the whole debate is about when it comes to religion (well anything in general for that matter).
 
Maybe they'll pick someone without a nazi background this time?

If they had any sense they'd start looking for someone off of the European continent for a change.

You never started with a specific example, only someone being murdered for not believing. How on earth do you see that as an inappropriate comment?

Or being murdered by that religion for not believing in that "reality", which was the modus operandi for montheism since it's inception..............

And I as an historian I see the problem as the continued miscategorization of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism as "religions" when they would be better classified as "Diseases of the Mind".........................

You got to be kidding me Martin Luther eventually broke away from the Catholic Church because it was adding things like the sale indulgences for sins and "holy" artifacts for people in purgatory. Martin Luther was more conservative than the Vatican.

Then you don't know anything at all about Catholicism. A lot of Catholic beliefs follow the liberal agenda, not all of them obviously, but a lot of them.

I know that this historic issue, unfolding, is big news for the Catholic Church Faithful. I don't want to rain on anyones parade, but there are many of us who are not Catholic, and many of us who do not favorably look at the history of the Catholic Church.

This thread is not a problem, but when the MSM, will incessantly report on who, what, and why of the transition... It will drive many of us crazy, because we could give a rip, who will become the next head of a church, which is in danger of dying.

A new dictator, for a dictatorial church... Big news alright.

What you're alluding with sale indulgences... was called "absolution". Prepaid forgiveness of sins yet to be committed.

We can disagree about what constitutes mishandling, even "terrible" mishandling (which is what I actually said). You claim "hyperbole" as an excuse for a flat out lie about a church position.
