Pew: 53% of Americans Now Say Government Threatens Their Rights and Freedoms.....

Yea they are both crazy and dangerous.

What if they're sane and docile, and you're the one who's crazy and dangerous?

:shock::shock::shock:

People who think the government is out to get them and need 100s of weapons and a bunker.. are not sane.

What does that have to do with people thinking government is infringing upon their Rights? Or is this due to some one from the Right making people aware?

Thinking it don't make it so. And only thinking when your party loses makes one partisan insane.

I don't think it's a political problem for Obama and the Democrats - after all, this last election proves the majority of American people are still delusional about Obama.

You should be concerned, however, since Obama and his Justice Department have taken the position that they can assassinate any American they deem to be a threat to America, in any country, without due process or trial.

With government drones now being used within the continental US, I'd be concerned with a person such as Obama with little concern for constitutional rights and principles, having his finger on the life/death button.

Or you can move to Canada. Oh wait, that's where you are already. Why would we use drones when we have plenty of black helicopters?
I think hear one out you window now......

So your definition of a survivalist is someone with "100s of weapons and a bunker"? And you think anyone who distrusts the government is not sane?

Couldn't the inverse of your argument be made just as well. That those who put no effort into their own wellbeing and security and blindly trust the government are not sane.

Distrusting the government is fine, but the problem comes when that person actually think the government is after them and they need to stock up on guns and grenades and rocket launchers to defend themselves against the UN and a non nondescript socialist Islamic threat and that the commander in chief is a Muslim agent. And considering the amount of people on the right who actually believe that Obama is a Muslim, then yes, there are a lot of crazies on the right.

I think that, in context both currently and historically, this poll really does say something - it says that a lot of people aren't stupid, they're just lazy. How many of those feeling threatened by the government do anything about it? Sure you can hold a sign or wave your guns in the air, but at some point disillusioned people need to campaign and band together! The Tea Party did it and I think it did some good in shaking up the core conservatives, who spent (during the W Bush era) as much as Justin Bieber at the swag factory.

But also, our rights are always at risk of being trampled on by both the public and private sectors. If you get kicked out of your house and watch it get razed, do you really care whether it was ordered by the port authority as opposed to Donald Trump? It's always going to be too-far-left vs. too-far-right and we need the scale to balance, not to tilt back to the other side.

I always find it funny that whenever a poster makes a negative comment about a post of mine and refers to my country, I can always look to the left and note the poster self-identifies as a liberal. Liberals are so weak minded, so defensive and aggressive at the same time, when someone doesn't bow to their world view they immediately attack the person challenging that view, and for me, the liberal form of debate is full on xenophobia or at least hints of it. I've enjoyed this site much more than Politico because there are so few people like you here.

I'll wait for your next post when you can't think of an adult response and start claiming racism.

53% are concerned. Hmm wonder what the other 47% are thinking :)

I love how you right-wingers take a quote and cleverly lie about it. You must be a graduate of the Linbaugh Institute of Conservative Studies. Oh wait, there are no graduates, that's right. You must be an upperclassman in any event.

The one you quoted said:

People who think the government is out to get them and need 100s of weapons and a bunker.. are not sane.

You conveniently left out two of the three characteristics, which of course makes your statement a lie.

Charity occurs voluntarily at the individual level. Welfare occurs at the state level. Jesus spoke not of government-mandated charity, as such a thing is not charity at all but coercion.

Is Colbert seriously saying that in order for the US to be a 'Christian Nation' it is the responsibility of the government to give out food stamps, for example?

Christianity is a personal philosophy and as such it is the responsibility of the individual to help others in difficult times.

There are many times comedians can have insights that amuse or offer an insight, but this is not one of those times.

And that makes a bog difference to you??

The point was quite clear.

Yes it was! The point is you basically misquoted another poster and now will not even acknowledge your error. You don't have to, the fact that you did it in the first place says enough about you already.

If you don't understand post number 66 there is no hope for you.

 I'm the one you're accusing of misquoting someone, not Grant. And now you have just mis-attacked another poster, that's got to be worse than misquoting someone.

On a more serious note, I quoted the post verbatim. I might have been a little off in my interpretation of the quoted post, as I didn't think it was literal in that someone must meet all of the criteria. I don't see how that makes me a liar though, and I certainly did not misquote that post.

The difference is I did it by accident, you did it on purpose.

Now I will correct myself. If you, Pilot, doesn't understand posting number 66, you have a comprehension problem.
