Israel gave birth control to Ethiopian Jews without their consent [W:283,569]

A Liberal that doesn't know what the Negro Project is? It was a eugenics scheme started by Left Wing heroin, Margaret Sanger. Ever hear of the Margaret Sanger award? "The Maggy"? It's an award given out to people by the pro-abortion crowd for their support of abortion rights in the United States. I find it incredibly ironic that the past several recipients have been black.

I mention it, because I see quite a few Libbos getting their asses in the air over what Israel did, but either ignore, or are ignorant of, the Negro Project.

BTW, they don't call it the Negro Project anymore. It's now called, "Planned Parenthood".
Project Negro (using the ‘Politically Correct’ lingo of the time) was fundamentally different than what is outlined in the OP, [as Sanger envisioned it and worked to enact it prior to control of it moving away from her].

MSPP > Newsletter

The plan was a full year of reaching out and doing the best to educate prior to offering the birth control.

Oh, and yes, “The Maggie” exists and is accompanied by all sorts of myths and mischaracterizations about Margaret Sanger crawling out of the woodwork to bash it, her, and Planned Parenthood.

Looks more like administrative error than the worst attempt at genocide in human history.

Can you imagine the front page news if this happened in the US or Europe? One standard for Israel and another for everyone else.

ANOTHER TIER!

"There is no proof black Ethiopian women continued to be coerced into taking birth control even though the birth rate among them over the last 40 years was one fifth that of white Jewish women."

His point is more than valid. I just disagree with his manufactured dichotomy between such a possibility and it having to be overseen by the state. Institutions like this have a tendency to build a lot of bias and resentmnet towards the people in their care.

If the Obama junta had anything to do with it, it would go almost without notice.

And again that isn't a tier.

Prove that their birth rate is because of forced measures instead of informed consent. Let alone uninformed consent.

For all you know, they may very well have been taking the BC by consent.

they very well may be, but current allegations are that they are not. Could the allegations prove to be false? Sure, but there isn't much in the way proving them so

Do you believe what Israel is accused of doing is wrong?

Even if that stat is correct (I doubt it), and the data would need to be examined below aggregate, what evidence is there of coercion?

the accusations of the women involved

That's what I was thinking too. An administrative or some other kind of error. The article is sorely lacking in any kind of details.

I saw one women quoted. That's what we're gonna base these accusations on?

from the article posted earlier:

<<<About six weeks ago, on an Educational Television program journalist Gal Gabbay revealed the results of interviews with 35 Ethiopian immigrants. The women’s testimony could help explain the almost 50-percent decline over the past 10 years in the birth rate of Israel’s Ethiopian community. According to the program, while the women were still in transit camps in Ethiopia they were sometimes intimidated or threatened into taking the injection. “They told us they are inoculations,” said one of the women interviewed. “They told us people who frequently give birth suffer. We took it every three months. We said we didn’t want to.”>>>

again, could these women be lying ? Sure. Does that amount to them lying? No

If this had happened here, I would think it was some kind of an error too. I find it totally outrageous that a bunch of governmental officials would get together and be organized enough to pull off something like this, not to mention to take the risk to do it, or be motivated enough to bother to do it, or even really think about doing it. Kind of far-fetched that this was done purposefully IMO.

Perhaps the woman quoted was too malnurished to give birth. The immigrants of 1991 weren't exactly in great shape, running from war in Ethiopia.

This is an absolute outrage!!!!! Or maybe just ironic. Don't care about Israel; don't care about Ethiopia.

Here is an article from the Jewish Daily Forward. It may help answer your doubts.
Ethiopian Women Claim Israel Gave Birth Control Shots Against Will

Well...

“They said, ‘Come, there are vaccinations, gather everyone,” Amawaish Alane, an Ethiopian immigrant to Israel, told “Vacuum” reporter Gal Gabbay in the Dec. 8 broadcast. “We said we wouldn’t receive it. They said, ‘You won’t move to Israel.’ ”

That's probably actually vaccinations and they could not travel to Israel without them. There's no evidence to link this to contraception shots, it's just a disjointed story line that's trying to imply what is not stated.

Okay, it says doctors coerced or coaxed the women into receiving the shots. It doesn't say anything about the government being involved. It is still real short on details though. There are no numbers given or anything! How many women? How many clinics or hospitals were involved? Why did the doctors coax these particular women into the shot? Was there a medical reason?

Sorry, your article sucks.

You know that physicians will OFTEN try to coax women into doing things that they think are the right choice. Perhaps some of these women had 4, 5, 6 or more children? A lot of times doctors will advise that you not have more children if you have had that many because of many different complications that can arise due to weakening of the uterus and supportive structures. So to assume that there some kind of "population control" at hand is kind of silly IMO.

As I said previously, there could be all manner of explanation to this, but there isn't much evidence pointing to any of them atm
