we have the definition you provided, from a medical dictionary, and other definitions from other medical dictionaries, and all did not base the dependency for "steralization" on the viability of the ovum.

But I have no interest arguing the same point with you and the reader surly has enough info to make up their own mind

As we saw, the actual definitions did not fit.
People should be educated enough to know that sterilization and contraception are not the same.
But apparently some don't know the difference.
Apparently folks like playing fast and lose with definitions like the author of a book does.
Doesn't make them right in any sense of the word.
