Brisbane company Linc Energy yesterday released two reports, based on drilling and seismic exploration, estimating the amount of oil in the as yet untapped Arckaringa Basin surrounding Coober Pedy ranging from 3.5 billion to 233 billion barrels of oil.

At the higher end, this would be "several times bigger than all of the oil in Australia", Linc managing director Peter Bond said.
This has the potential to turn Australia from an oil importer to an oil exporter.

"If it comes in the way the reports are suggesting, it could well and truly bring Australia back to (oil) self-sufficiency," Mr Bond said.

Between this and other finds in Canada and the US there are several times as much oil to be had as has ever been used by humans.
 
That should ease tensions in that region. Make India and China happy. This is great world news.

Epic polution is just a fallacy manufactured by the lunatics on the left who are realizing their abillity to manipulate the ignorant low information voters with demagoguery and scare tactics is slowly slipping away.

Shale oil Boyee....its the future and the wind farms and stoopid solar nonsense will be just a embarassment, one of many of the left as more and more people realize green energy was a scam from the get go.
 
It will be tapped and then left alone as a massive dump of new oil onto the market would kill any econpomic growth thats happening now.

Almost all of any growth is because of oil.

I read that the Canadian oil sands alone have as much fossilized Co2 as has been released by man since the start of the industrial revolution. That's millions of tons of greenhouse gas to melt the glaciers and put 1/3 of the Earths population under the seas. I'm glad I'll be dead.
