Looks like the republican party are getting what they ask for...in spades.:2wave:

<Senate Democrats plan to draft a budget blueprint that calls for significantly higher taxes on the wealthy, oil and gas companies and corporations doing business overseas, reopening a battle over taxes Republicans had hoped to lay to rest with the “fiscal cliff.”>

<“There’s going to have to be some spending cuts, and those will be negotiated,” Schumer, the No. 3 Democrat in the Senate, said in an interview after the show. “But doing a budget is the best way for us to get revenues.”>

<House Republicans are eager to draft a reconciliation bill to cut spending on federal health programs and to overhaul the tax code, in part by cutting rates. And Democrats are eager to draft a reconciliation bill that would raise additional revenue, in part by limiting tax breaks for wealthy individuals, oil and gas companies and multinational corporations.>

Awesome. Now when the dems are forced to meet in the middle since there will be no deem and pass legislation, Obama will have to put up or shut up.

This is the part I like’ higher taxes on the wealthy, oil and gas companies and corporations doing business overseas, ‘.About time they pay instead of snuggling up to the public tit with their subsidies.:peace

You mean they're finally going to do their freakin' job?? I'll believe it when I see it. Perhaps they'll even start taxing labor unions -- there's absolutely no reason why they should be tax-exempt.

Edit:

And, for that matter, start taxing the KKK, Westboro Church, the NRA and counless others that aren't charities.

I am not for subsidies in any way, but why are democrats against subsidies for corporations, ...but for subsidies to people, or business that the WH approves of.

nothing in the constitution states government can hand out money...to anybody.

They’ll start taxing unions when they start showing a profit Maggie. How about taxing churches; are you for that as well?

Higher taxes on the wealthy is political smoke and mirrors, but c-corps definitely need to be reigned in.

Most of the time people that get subsidies don't make $80 billion in record profits as the three largest U.S. oil companies did in 2011.

that makes no difference, no one should be getting any subsidies, it is not constitutional, it is not a duty of congress.

Churches do charitable work. They aren't businesses.

Edit: Unions are 501(c)3's. They don't pay income taxes. (They do, I believe, pay taxes on political contributions.)

So, start a thread on what you think should not be subsidized then.Oil companies are mentioned in the OP article, other subsidies are not.:2wave:

They pay income taxes on their employees but the political wing is the same as KKKarl Roves.

it is not what I think, it is what the constitution says, ..it makes no provisions , for government being venture capitalist.

government cannot invest in GM, of hand out money to business, it likes.

The democrats want every dollar and every cent from the working class in order to redistribute while denying they're communistic in nature.

At this point in my life I could care less if they use Marx's model or not - the end result is the only thing that matters. Generally I call them "nanny state elitist psychopath tyrannical devils" however their redistribution economic idea goes nameless.

Of course in our democratic society (which temporarily still exists) idiots will vote for whoever promises the most free taxpayer money...

Some country we live in... The poor have no reason to become middle class, the middle class have to support the poor and the rich have so much money it doesn't matter.....

They dont have income

Just because you say so. If they don't have profit, how do they manage to give massive donations to their fav political candidates and pay the income tax on those donations? Please provide a link.

IOW, unions don't pay income taxes, except when they do :doh

Im sure hoping you feel the same way about green subsidies since they were 4 times those of "big oil".

They’ll start taxing unions when they start showing a profit Maggie. How about taxing churches; are you for that as well?

Yes. Because we pick and choose which religions get tax exempt status. Why special treatment only for select faiths?

Let us hope that “4 times “will somehow morph to at least a hundred fold increases of green subsidies to environmental friendly companies. Think that one thru for a bit. If successful, it will help wean us off of oil that comes from countries that don’t like us; it will also provide jobs in this country, that HOPEFULLY will prime the pump for said GREEN COMPANIES, perhaps, sometime in the future that can look forward to earning $80 billion in profits WITHOUT lining up at the public tit to get their allowance.:peace
