Ex- New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin indicted

It should be, "Beat me to it."

Too is ONLY used when you want to say...

Too = excessive (I ate too much greasy food and now I need an antacid tablet.)

Too = also (You went to the Patriots game last weekend? I was there, too.)

School thyself.

Otherwise, why are you arguing FOR its' perpetuation?

That sentence is full of fail.

Haha.

That sentence is full of fail.

Cite the rule. I don't just criticize grammar or useage or spelling, I try to help the poster learn from my corrections.

Now, cite for me the rule I broke and how its' should have been written in that instance, in that context.

Why is it that quasi-white nationalists are increasingly becoming mainstream?

American-style white nationalism isn't even particularly attractive. It doesn't have the aesthetic and philosophical strength of something like the black metal volkisch revival in northern Europe - it's too Christian for that. I'd be sympathetic in theory to a Euro-style nationalist movement, but American far-rightist politics is ugly as sin.

I find that people learn more when they do the work themself. What are you, some kind of commie?

Google - you can do it!

Would it be racist to note the large number of minority mayors that are charged with corruption? Or to note that their adoring constituents vote for them anyway.

It would be a case of confirmation bias, showing the racist roots of this meme.

And your treatment of a simple typo is not only against the rules but helping reaffirm that your assumptions are dead wrong.

I am not white.

No one cares, if they do they have issues far beyond those of an internet chat room.

Or to call you an arrogant ass and move along.

That's right. Stay ignorant.

I'm disengaging from this exchange.

But, in the future if i see you misuse the word, "too" again, would you rather I remind you of the correct spelling or leave you looking ignorant?

NOLA, and pretty much all of Louisiana, is just as famous for their political corruption as Chicago.

NOLA cops are just as corrupt as Chicago cops too.

Is anyone really surprised?

Is it only coincidental that both cities are Democrat strongholds?

Your inattention to small things like this helps contribute to the Left's perception that White Conservatives are all/mostly ill-educated red necks.

You wanting to think no one cares about spelling reminds me of a guy with a raggedy toupè who thinks no one can tell it's not his real hair.

He's only fooling himself.

And the most appropriate response might be to thank me and move on.

No offense, and I don't want to continue derailing the thread, but I think your pointing out of a grammar mistake reflects more negatively on conservatives than his usage of it.

This is what I hate. Black men who succumb to the value system they grew up with.

As for your topic, I would say that I dislike anyone who subscribes to a value system leading them to corruption regardless of their race.

Exactly.

I grew up under Daily, and not the son either.

Ah, that would be the Richard Daley who urged his supporter to "vote early and often." I remember him...

The dick who segregated Chicago with the highways, and was responsible for the housing projects etc. Crime, corruption and the birth of the Chicago machine.

I suggest people ignore obvious bait and stick to the topic, lest they verge into problematic territory themselves

Cities are impossible to govern without a measure of corruption, and, I assure you, the cities were just as corrupt when the Republicans were the Party of the urban machines.

Consider the case of William Hale Thompson, the last Republican mayor of Chicago:

William Hale Thompson (May 14, 1869 – March 19, 1944) was Mayor of Chicago from 1915 to 1923 and again from 1927 to 1931. Known as "Big Bill",[1] Thompson was the last Republican to serve as Mayor of Chicago, and ranks among the most unethical mayors in American history...

In 1915 he was elected as the 41st Mayor of Chicago. Early in his mayoral career, Thompson began to amass a war chest to support an eventual run for the Presidency by charging city drivers and inspectors $3 per month. He was mayor during the Chicago Race Riot of 1919 and was said to have control of the 75,000 African-American voters in his day...

He ran again in 1927 during city wide gang war. Always a flamboyant campaigner, Thompson held a debate between himself and two live rats which he used to portray his opponents. Pledging to clean up Chicago and remove the crooks, Thompson instead turned his attention to the reformers, whom he considered the real criminals. According to Thompson, at this time the biggest enemy the United States had was King George V of the United Kingdom. Thompson promised his supporters that if they ever met, Thompson would punch the king in the nose.[1] Al Capone's support allowed Thompson to return to the mayor's office using such tactics as the "Pineapple Primary" which occurred (April 10, 1928), so-called because of the hand grenades thrown at polling places to disrupt voting. The St. Valentine's Day Massacre also took place while Thompson was mayor.

It is not the Democratic Party of today that makes the cities corrupt, anymore than it was the Republican Party in the time of William Hale Thompson that corrupted them. It is their nature as cities themselves.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has been indicted on 21 federal corruption charges including wire fraud, bribery and money laundering.

To get back to the original topic: It's about time.

Is it only coincidental that both cities are Democrat strongholds?

I do not think it is coincidental at all. Both cities have much in common in the equation of lawlessness. However, I could not formulate my opinion in words without offending some people and possibly turning the thread into a heated argument regarding the common problems often shared by particular cultures. And it does so happen that these particular cultures do tend to vote democrat.

So, whereas, I do agree with what you're getting at, I do not consider it to be coincidental at all. In fact, I consider it rather predictable.

But we really shouldn't discuss it.

Have a nice weekend sir.

I'm not accepting your premise (that crime results primarily from upbringing and race allows us to guess his), but I still have a question even allowing the premise to stand: It doesn't bother you when whites (presumably) do the same?

Marsden might be wrong had every black moyor if New Orleans hadn't been indicted for corruption.

It looks likes there have only been two black mayors of New Orleans, and only one has been indicted for corruption. Should we really be drawing the conclusion that this comes from his race.

I certainly hope not. Someone might then look at Chicago and the governors of Illinois...

I agree with his premise if you remove the word black out of it. And yes, it bothers me when whites do the same.

Actually, there's been three and they were all either indicted, or investigated.
