Dozens held after Islamists attack Algerian gas field!!!![W:280]

Calm down there, home slice. I don't recall saying they've taken hostages, killed anybody, or said that the supreme court has ruled against them. So why you're talking to me about it is absolutely baffling.

I just recall saying there are radicals in every religion, and they're not representative of the entire religion.

Actually, you were trying to draw moral equivalency. Maybe you should do a little more research. They are not radical Christians. They are all lawyers and that is the way they advertise. It has brought them millions in civil rights cases. It has nothing to do with religion. If you had done your homework you would know that.

I'm not really here to listen to you whine and attempt to defend your religion, because I personally don't give a ****, and I see christianity just as ridiculous as islam. My point is, and will remain, that a group of radicalists doesn't represent an entire religion. Good day.

Where have I owned to any particular religion? Post the quote.

So called "moderate" Muslims are those who are not following the Koran explicitly. This makes them a potential target by devout Muslims. For this reason we can not expect their help in opposing the "true" Muslims performing violent Jihad. They just want to live their lives in peace. And even though the violent and non-violent Jihadists represent a minority, they are easily sufficiently numerous to effectively achieve their goal of bringing down America when the time comes.

And when will the time come?

Seek the answer online. It is there to be found. Seek the answer and act accordingly.

Typically they take over when their population exceeds 50% of the total population of the country. Recall that in Egypt they deposed a dictator only to vote in a theocracy. If that is the plan, it will be a while. I haven't looked up the immigration quotas for middle eastern countries, but it is online at the website for the Secretary of State. Also, it is well document that they are under a fatwah to have at least 5 children per family. It's all about the numbers. Of course islam is the fastest growing 'religion' worldwide, and there are many converts each year in America.

All I saw was a comparison of radicals whose actions defy their religion. They are all lawyers? All I could find is that Fred Phelps is a disbarred lawyer, could you post a link?

These particular Islamist in Algeria are out of Mali. Thousands of Islamists have taken over a huge area of Mali. They were in the great overthrow of Qaddaffi in Libya and walked out with lots of arms. Qaddaffi was helping Africans so the French, UK, and US, or as the popular Pravda acronym, the FUKUS axis got rid of a stabilizing influence in North Africa because he would not bend to the beck and call of Western OIL Corporations. They consolidated in Mali, lots of caves, weapons, desert mountains and difficult terrain. Now a tentacle stretches to Algeria to create death, havoc and mayhem. What about tomorrow. I think the UN should drop thousands of BLU type propane bombs throughout the area controlled by these violent Jihadists. Now, before they develop adequate defenses. Our Libyan misadventure is what has aggravated this problem. Lots of heavy weapons, sidewinders, anti aircraft, etc. went missing out of the Libyan nightmare of our own making. I don't really think these are serious Islamic Jihadists, more like pirates. Big BLUS will suck the oxygen out of their caves and roast the remains.

I'm waiting for your answer. You have not answered my question.

I'm still waiting for a link that shows how WBC is made up of lawyers profiting from their protests.

There was a TV special about them and their use of inflammaory tactics for the purpose of advertising. Not sure this one was it, though.

Phelps earned a law degree from Washburn University in 1964, and founded the Phelps Chartered law firm.[10] The first notable cases were related to civil rights. "I systematically brought down the Jim Crow laws of this town," he claims.[4] Phelps' daughter was quoted as saying, "We took on the Jim Crow establishment, and Kansas did not take that sitting down. They used to shoot our car windows out, screaming we were nigger lovers," and that the Phelps law firm made up one-third of the state's federal docket of civil rights cases.[11]

Fred Phelps

Fred Phelps and his small congregation provide WBC's funding; the group neither solicits nor accepts outside donations. In addition to this income, the church makes money by winning or settling civil lawsuits involving the church. During the 1990s, the group sued Topeka multiple times for failing to provide sufficient protection during its protests. Although they lost most of their cases, WBC did win $43,000 in legal fees in 1993. According to Shirley Phelps-Roper, they also won more than $100,000 in 1995 in a lawsuit against Kansas' Funeral Picketing Act, which they claimed violated their First Amendment rights. Because the Phelps family represents WBC in court, they can put the fees they win towards supporting the church.

I'm waiting for your answer. You have not answered my question.

I guess you're going to be waiting a long time. You jumped out of left field when I was talking to someone else, whining about how christianity doesn't have radicals, and blah blah blah. I don't really have any desire to answer any of your questions after that.

You flung the comment at me. And now you know you made a fool of yourself because you can't deliver. Keep backpeddling.

Maenad clearly just wants affirmation for his Muslim hating views.

I wouldn't feed her anymore.

Well, all the hostages are dead.

If only they would ban guns in the Middle East, these things wouldn't happen over there.

Fred Phelps originally made his mark as a civil rights lawyer (a very competent one, from my understanding and a number of his children are lawyers, as well. Though I am unsure how that would not make them christian, and why you guys don't just point out those two positions are not mutually exclusive

here's something on the subject.

'Most-hated,' anti-gay preacher once fought for civil rights - CNN.com

They also talk about it in america's most hated family, I believe

Actually he claimed that I am a Christian. And when challenged to post where I have owned to any particular religion, cannot do so. That's it. He made a fool of himself. His making a fool of himself does not make another party a bigot. And posting that there is no 21st century moral equivalency of Christanity and islam does not either.

I don't recall where, but somewhere it was revealed that they spend roughly $200,000/year on those protests which translates into a handsome profit from the civil rights cases it brings in. And I have posted what was asked of me, as you have posted what was asked of me. So I'm not looking any further. Anyone who wants to refute that it is all about the money and not about the religion can make their feeble effort to do so.

That little exchange between you two does not interest me.

Your anti-muslim views do because they're based on ignorance, fear and xenophobia.

If he is faking, he plays the part rather well. Though I do understand where you are coming from. The attempts to make a comparison between the radical elements in Christianity and Islam usually fall flat when examined, yet are still constantly marched out in almost every discussion on the subject. But the post you responded to was clearly making a point about labeling a majority based on a few individuals, as opposed to the former

Which those who are anti Christian are doing themselves and simply don't have the insight to know that.

Of course no one is concerned about the fact that some or all of hostages in the OP are now dead. Most of you are just reacting to your misguided perceptions about those of us who find this a travesty. Like we did 9-11. Some of us didn't forget. Or maybe you are just afraid to piss off islam. Either way, it's pathetic.
