We the majority of the people elected President Obama to represent our nation for the next four years, he was elected and re-elected because he knows how to reach out to the people, he can feel the pain that many Americans feel because he has been there and has had to experience the trials and tribulations that many of Americans citizens deal with. His bringing the parents and some of the children who were effected by the tragedy in Newton and others who have been effected by gun violence shows his personal connection to the people.

Here is a concrete fact for you 40% of the guns sold in America are sold to people who have not had a background check completed before the sale, so lets make an educated guess that maybe some of those weapons were sold to felons or to people with mental problems. Would it be an imposition to a legal gun owner if he had to have a background check completed before he/she could sell a weapon. You may consider this to be a slight pain but it is not an infringement of the 2nd amendment.

Yes, it would be an imposition. In fact, I believe it's an imposition for ANY background check to be required. Period.

So you would not mind if the weapon you sold was used on you your family or the store owner down the street as long as you were not required to do a background check, right? That could never happen right because you have the ability to magically know what the purchaser of that weapon intended to use it for. It would not bother you if the AR-15 you sold was used in the next mass murder,. that could not happen,right? Or is it that you just don't care as long as it does not require any effort on your part

The same hacks that would say background checks are an issue when purchasing firearms are usually the same ones that would argue that voters should be required to undergo a rectal exam before casting a ballot.

1. If a person is stupid enough to not take measures to protect their own life, they deserve what they get. Anyone who expects society to ensure them a safe and peaceful life is an idiot. Tell me...do you cross the street without looking both ways because there is a law that says cars have to stop if a person is in the crosswalk? Or because everyone who has a car has been tested, licensed and registered? If so, you are also an idiot.

2. If someone buys a gun and kills someone with it, that person should die. No ifs, ands or buts. The court should snuff him if he survives his attack.

Liberals respond to that kind of sht. They demand emotion, it's part of the vaginazation of America. A huge percentage of the loons vote strictly based on "feelings." That's why Obama has ads like that, the Liberal leaders do know their cattle, even though the preferred emotion is hatred of others, anything that results in uncontrollable sobbing is solid gold to the loons.

Oh wow, I didn't know anybody ever suggested that someone require a rectal exam to vote. Here I just thought they wanted to require absolutely ANY form of ID whatsoever in order to vote. You know, like you need to buy a gun, alcohol, tobacco, or drive. Yeah, that's just like a rectal exam.

What does my crossing the street have to do with you or someone else selling a weapon to a convicted felon or deranged person? This is the way I feel if someone in my family is shot say my 7 year old grandson by a weapon sold privately, the person who sold that weapon is just as criminally responsible as the person who ?does the shooting. Do you really feel that you can protect your family every minute,every hour of every day from violence?Have you trained your children,grandchildren or all of your loved ones in self defense can they all use a weapon to defend their selves?

I have no problem with executing a killer, Will killing the murderer bring back the person who has been killed? Or maybe you think that person is responsible for his/her own death because they did not shoot back fast enough. Background checks are an effective way to keep weapons out of the hands of people who should not be able to purchase weapons

If you were selling your car, do you do a background check on them to make sure they're not a criminal or deranged? If the person who bought your car then runs over someone with it, should they haul your ass off to jail? Cars kill an exponentially larger number of people than guns, so why shouldn't we require background checks for that?

Poor analogy and you know it. Drivers of vehicles are required to be licensed, vehicles must be registered, insured and have plates on them before they can be driven on the street so why not require gun sales to be registered and gun owners to be licensed and tested ? You can not legally drive a car if your license has been revoked

No, it's a perfect analogy. If a felon is carrying a gun, it's illegal. If a non-licensed person is driving, it's illegal. Tell me how YOU should be held responsible in either of those scenarios for selling them a gun, or a car.

I think it's okay to use children in poltical ads, especially if the issue about children, I just don't think it's okay to use your opponents children in a poltical ad.

Uh huh, and how exactly can you/they prove the validity of that claim if these ao called 40% of sales are illegal and untracked. Are the criminals making a phone call to let the authorities know they have made an illegal purchase. Do you really thinl imposing stricter regulations on you and I will make tje criminal trade cease to exist?

I have not seen a study comparing gun violence deaths to vehicle violence death.Do you have a source comparing the violence related death caused by vehicles and guns? But maybe your right maybe we should do a background check before we sell a vehicle. Is there a law in place making it illegal for a convicted felon or mentally dangerous person to drive a car?

Convicted felons can drive, and the mentally dangerous who are denied cars are institutionalized, so no.


Vehicle deaths per year: ~32,000
Gun deaths by homicide or accident per year: ~13,000

I didn't count suicide in guns because that is their decision. I'd rather have them shoot themselves than kill themselves with a car and make themselves a public danger.
