Mentally challenged girl, 15, 'gang raped under her desk during class as teacher did

Re: Mentally challenged girl, 15, 'gang raped under her desk during class as teacher

She will not stay fired.

How do you know that? You should take the advice of- you think you know, but you have no idea!

Re: Mentally challenged girl, 15, 'gang raped under her desk during class as teacher

One mentally challenged girl in a room full of juvenile delinquent boys with violent tendencies? Sheer idiocy. The Administrators should be sacked and banned from ever working in the field again. The teacher was fired, but I would say she should face criminal charges. Gross negligence or child endangerment, or something along those lines.

sure if the story is true with its connotations. I am skeptical though since it is based on a lawsuit and not a police report.

Re: Mentally challenged girl, 15, 'gang raped under her desk during class as teacher

We can all be horrified at this story coming out of NYC, and the actions, or shall I say inaction of the teacher involved in this tragedy. But the larger question here is that of the mother who says that she tried to get her daughter removed from that situation before this happened, only to be either ignored or rebuffed by school system officials that thought they knew better. We hear nothing in this story of what happened to the teacher who did nothing during the attack, or if the administrators in question were suspended as well. Why? My personal thoughts are that the Union is protecting these scumbags, and proponents of the Union wonder why it is that anecdotal evidence is so often used against unions in today's conversation, well, just read this story, it is appalling.

Oh my God, a girl gets raped, and it's because of those Evil Unions!

Can't argue with that. Largely because you can't argue with illogical conclusions.

Wow...what can you say to this

You never know. Details may have been exaggerated to make good press. We'll have to keep an eye on it. The thing that really stands out to me is that the teacher was present in the room while this happens. This is the most heinous part of the story, but may also be the most exaggerated part of it. If it's true at all, a very large hammer should come down on that teacher.

Yeah I am erring on the side that maybe the "rape" was inappropriate touching as opposed to penetrating intercourse. That is the part of the claim that makes me skeptical.

Good point. If it was "inappropriate touching" it could mean a variety of things up to and including sexual assault. We'll have to wait for more details. In any event, it seems the teacher lost control of the room. To what degree remains to be seen.

Re: Mentally challenged girl, 15, 'gang raped under her desk during class as teacher

Yes it is. All they have to to do is call in law enforcement. But the won't. To do so would make it public and expose them for the idiots they are.

I think that ship has sailed.

Re: Mentally challenged girl, 15, 'gang raped under her desk during class as teacher

sure if the story is true with its connotations. I am skeptical though since it is based on a lawsuit and not a police report.

The statement
endured a brutal gang rape as she was trapped beneath her by two boys with her teacher only feet away, alleges a lawsuit filed Friday.
is right out of a defense attorney's mouth. I want to know "how many feet" ?, two feet, 5 feet, 60 feet? It also mentioned a student dancing on a desk which indicates this classroom must have been total chaos if students are having sex and there is dancing on the desks.

But this is the media report and I have learned from personal experience what they write is not always factual. I was once interviewed by a reporter concerning a medical treatment of a patient. I painstakenly went over the whole process to make certain she understood it. But when the article came out in the newspaper it was explained totally wrong. I was shocked of her interpretation.

Re: Mentally challenged girl, 15, 'gang raped under her desk during class as teacher

This part of the article stand out

"The girl's mother, who filed the suit, alleged that the teacher ignored the assault even as one student danced on the desk while another attempted to sodomize K.J."

How could the teacher not see that?

Attempted sodomy would be pretty obvious.

If this was a private school, as reported, why couldn't the mother have kept her daughter home until she found another school?

What forced her to send the girl there after she found out about the abuse and harrassment?

One possible reason is that this is a residential center for troubled youth where they are subsidized by the state education system for the schooling part of their program. If that is the case then they are "private" only in the sense that they are not a part of the traditional county or state educational mainstream system. But, it is important to note that the separation from the county system is largely semantic.

Re: Mentally challenged girl, 15, 'gang raped under her desk during class as teacher

This isn't about me....Is there something you'd like to constructively say about the opening article/story that happened in NYC school system? Or would like to continue down this path of personal attack?

I did actually. Your rush to play the victim probably made you miss it. Let me repeat: trying to politicize a tragedy like this is low. The fact that you did it with no facts to back up your conclusion makes it low and sad.

That's another angle I've been wondering about. If the mother already knew the classroom conditions were out of control, why permit her child to go back? Why not hold her out and file a complaint?

Again Red, this isn't about me....So unless you want to talk about the topic, let yourself out please.

It doesn't work that way...Most likely the school system was paying to send her child there, and thus made the final decision as to where the girl attended...To just pull her out would bring the scrutiny and wrath of those in the school system administration come down on her.

I have been talking about it, just not in the way you would want. Bummer.

No, you've been attacking me for what I posted...There is a difference.

Kids getting raped in class, kids bringing in shot guns and targeting specific students then either surrendering or killing themselves....and no one cares. Blame scary looking guns and look to Obama to save the day with his $1T coins.

And free condoms.

And free condoms.
Free condoms, yes, and free hormonal BC, and teacher's union pay. That's what caused this, other than same-sex marriage bans, that is. I bet someone had a bible in that school, too.

Shoulda been the mother's wrath coming down on the school. A school that places children under it's care in dangerous situations is at fault. Not the other way around.

Exactly. She would then have her opportunity to explain why she pulled her child out.

Until she has their attention she can do nothing.

The parent always has the last say.

She should have pulled the girl out and when they came to her asking why, she should have told them and demanded something be done. The parent needs to protect the child even over the wants and needs of a school system.
