Shooting reported at California H.S.[W92]

One must first dig a hole, to be put in a hole.
Nah, you needed no digging. You just opened your mouth to provide an enormous hole to fall into.

..repeatedly. :lamo

You don't know that. A shotgun could just be his weapon of choice.

Regardless, he brought a gun in a "gun free zone". He should have known we have gun control laws prohibiting that.
Seriously dood...you are having an Alex Jones moment. Just...walk away from the keyboard.

It isnt inappropriate to have the discussion about gun-free zones. Hell...start a thread and I'll be right there with you on your side fighting against them. Time and place. And repeatedly saying the same annoying thing over and over and over isnt the right tactic and it CERTAINLY isnt an argument.

One must first fall, before getting up.
Problem is you insist on continuing to fall, and just can’t seem to get up (AKA shut up)!

:rofl

If anyone is interested, looks like there where two shot, one airlifted out, one who refused treatment.

Do we even know what happened yet?

I'm going to make the reckless and unsupported claim that some emo kid finally gave up on cutting himself and tried to take out his anger against his classmates.

Was his name Shinji?

From CNN, one critical (a targeted student), one grazed (teacher in the class, that along with another student talked the shooter into laying down the shotgun), and a student that wasn’t targeted tripping and falling over a desk/table when attempting to exit, stage left. The last one is probably the “refused treatment”?

EDIT: Oh, missed another injury. Hearing damaged student, taken to hospital. Collateral damage standing near the shooter, and even nearer the muzzle but to the side?

Hopefully the student airlifted out has no serious injuries.

I wonder what he would say about our gun control laws not preventing this attack.

He just took a shotgun blast, that tends to put you in a very bad way. He is currently listed as critical condition.

The teacher only caught a single pellet, it appears. So they’ll be OK.

They talked him into laying down the gun? Damn, that's impressive. I'm also curious to know what the shooter's motive and mental state was since they seem to usually be pretty immune to being talked out of things like this.

Sounds like his target list was relatively limited, he shot one and named another that he then shot at (and missed). It sounds very personal and the classroom was probably just the best intel that the shooter had for locating both targets together, or locating either target at a given time at all.

"Gun Free" Zones are soft targets.

so you want guns everywhere then? Churches, hospitals, schools, swimming pools, cinemas etc. Sounds like a horrible world.

I'd have to disagree. It would create an equality of force which would discourage the vast majority from attempting anything like this in most circumstances.

It is disparity of force that typically leads to mass-murder.

The mere presence of guns does not disturb me in the slightest. In my regional culture, guns are regarded as common items and not objects of existential horror. :)

But, but, but why didn't our state's strict gun control stop this? WWWHHHYYY????

another gun free zone though police response was quick

the moron who did this should not have his name plastered all over the news and should "disappear"

permanently

In Colorado not too long ago a criminal went to a church and commenced to firing. that criminal was stopped by an armed guard at the church. The "Gun Free Zone" didnt prevent a massacre...an armed citizen did.

and she was a parishioner who was there to worship rather than standing guard

Your argument would be more useful if it was in any way anchored in reality, but then that'd make it difficult becuase then you'd have to use actual facts rather then your hyper partisan bull****. We had a tragedy recently with a number of children killed...I'm sure then, since you're making this claim, you'll have no issue finding posts by Redress on their "soapbox" and "demanding a repeal of hte 2nd amendment".

Oh please. We both know that the shrieking harpies on the left were politicizing Gun Ownership while the bodies of those dead kids were still cooling. It's laughable that Redress would even attempt to get on the soapbox and preach to all of us how "liberals aren't politicizing the shooting". You didn't type your post with a straight face anymore than Redress did, so spare me the lecture k? Thanks

Listen I understand you need to come to the defense of one of your pals and that's fine, but THIRD post in the original Sandy Hook thread (The dead bodies of those kids were still bleeding:

http://www.debatepolitics.com/break...927-26-reported-killed-newtown-w-72-89-a.html

Is it time to talk about gun control now? This is getting ridiculous. We never find the time to talk about gun control. These sort of things don't happen in England, and they have very strong gun control laws. The NRA needs to get out of the way and let the conversation begin.

When is the right time to talk about gun control? It's an honest question. Can you answer that? We have got to talk about it sometime, and it has to be before this happens again and again. How many innocent lives have to be lost before we start the conversation? I wish we had talked about it and acted before this happened. Maybe we can get it done before the next time sweet and innocent lives are lost.

It should have been turned into a political football about 10 shootings ago.. How many people have to die before righties come to terms with the fact that the NRA is nothing more than a murderers friend.. We need effective gun control and we need restrictions on they types of guns the public can own.

In the Aurora thread, PeteEU insinuated the shooter was "right wing" before a single fact was known on the first damn page

http://www.debatepolitics.com/break...tack-batman-film-premiere-denver-w-120-a.html

Who knows, it is speculation. There has to be some link to the movie and I was only mentioning the two things that have been up in the media and web over the last week or so.. death threats against the director and the whole idiotic "Bane/Bain" bull**** from some on the right.

DrChuckles page 2. The bodies were still warm.

I'm figuring some right wing wacko from the reports. Kind of poorly planned and I'm sure they would favor better explosives. Possibly reacting to limbo

Redress on their reaction to a mass shooting

http://www.debatepolitics.com/gun-control/147245-do-you-react-shooting-2.html#post1061299894

My first reaction would be to pray there where no armed gun nuts who will want to play hero and make things a whole ****load worse. Nothing worse than a gun, too much testosterone and an inferiority complex all rolled up into one.

First reaction is not about dead kids, but about "armed gun nuts" who will want to "play hero" and make it worse.

Gunman injures 1 in Texas movie theater parking lot | Fox News

There is mountains of evidence that refutes their statement that an armed civilian would "make it worse". So what comes in a distant second to the gun? I'm hoping the "killer" but that was never clarified. Redress, care to clarify why the gun is worse than the killer? Or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe you do believe the killer is worse. Dunno. Or maybe you want to convince us all to be like the Japanese, (Who currently live in a Police State) who pre WW2 were mutilating untold amounts Chinese at Nanking, and all over the rest of Eastern China. A Japanese Culture that is prone to cult/idol worship that recent history has shown can be used by Centrally Planned Governments to dire effect.

The Radical Left was politicizing gun ownership within minutes of Aurora and Sandy Hook. They continue to do so RIGHT NOW.

MSNBC Guest: It Took ’20 Little Martyrs’ In Newtown To Move Gun Control Debate Forward | Mediaite

Daily Kos: Exploiting Sandy Hook: Will There Be a Link Between the NRA and Filibuster Reform?

If exploited correctly, there is some legislative synergy here. On the one hand, we can threaten to pain anyone who blocks filibuster reform as a secret, or sometimes not-so-secret, tool of the NRA. At the same time, we can pressure anyone seen as pro-gun to show their independence from the NRA by voting for filibuster reform. However, to do so requires the mindset of being wiling to politicize tragedy and some people are reluctant to travel down that path.

Maybe you want to live with your head in the sand. I won't. So spare me your sanctimonious lecturing.

Gun related tragedy = liberals looking for gun control

This will be no different.

Yup. Libs/Dems are taught to never let a crisis go to waste to further the agenda.
