Navy Seeks to Combat Unplanned Pregnancies

So the only place navy men rape women is aboard ship? Thinking some teen girls in many ports of call like the Philippines or Okinawa may dispute that. Now exactly how many sailors actually serve on ships? I ask because I do believe you can't claim only on board ships when the bulk serve onshore. you can't be serious in thinking all rapes and unintended pregnancies happen on the high seas... guilt free gay sex perhaps but not all rapes and knock-ups...

I don't know how we got on the topic of rape...........I am talking about women serving aboard Navy ships....when a woman gets pregnant aboard ship she has to be transferred ashore many time without a replacement causing her male shipmate to take up the slack because many times there is no replacement for her........a lot of women who want out of the Navy get pregnant because that is their ticket to discharge.

Okay, putting aside rapes, let's just look at consentual acts. If they are caught, send them home. What's the big deal? It wouldn't be fair to ban all the responsible women over a few bad apples, right?

What you don't understand is when a woman gets pregnant she is transferred with out repalcement in many cases.

How about making that male shipmate who got her pregnant take on her shift too. I bet the little sailor boys would remember their raincoats then.

NP's point is that people who join the Navy are stupid people.
Tough people join the Marines.
Smart people join the Air Force.
People who want military benefits join the Army or National Guard.

But like Navy Pride claims, stupid people join the Navy.

:2razz:

I thought most of you old sailors were gay. Adding women to the mix shouldn't get anyone pregnant unless Marines were involved.

The next headline will spell out,

"Navy still wants women on board but puts forth sexual mandates. The Secretary of the Navy, long known for his anal attention to DE-tails, insists 'Beyond the pregnancy issue, our long-held traditions shall be upheld. Sex between the genders is inevitable but our seamen must remain on the poop-deck.'"

I am certain you are just joking but the real funny part is that there is some truth in that.

If women did noy serve aboard Navy ships there would be know rape problem.

Men don't rape men?

Also, I guess you reminisce about the good 'ol days in the navy... you know the navy is partly where the term F.U.C.K. came from. It's an acronym.

For
Unlawful
Carnal
Knowledge

It was a law. A law which sailors where often charged with when they came home sporting all sorts of venereal diseases and after having handed them off to their wives. So please, spare us the bull**** rose colored visions of the navy's yesteryears. It's better now than it has ever been.

I don't make excuses for either party.

You lefties just don't get it.

What is there to get?

I suggested having the male shipmate who got her pregnant cover her shifts too.

It is like in hockey, you are always responsible for any damage your stick does. Same thing for these guys who are too idiotic to not use a condom. How hard is that?
Screw up you deal with it. Quit babying them.

sadly that is what happens...........so your saying the woman has no responsiblity for getting pregnant.

Hahahaa... rapes don't just happen on ships. They also happen in bases.

I told you lefties a long time ago that this is what you get when you mix young men and women at sea for a long period of time....No matter what the restrictions are they will get together and make unwanted babies.

Up to 65 percent of pregnancies in the military are self-reported as unplanned, according to a December report by The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' Committee on Health Care for Underserved Women.
Nearly three-fourths of all Navy pregnancies were unplanned, according to a recent parenthood survey conducted by the service. Of those, only 31 percent of the couples were using birth control at the time they conceived. With pregnancies involving enlisted servicewomen, 70 percent of the fathers were also in the military

Hell, guys in the Navy have been having sex with each other since the days of John Paul Jones. Allowing women to serve alongside of men will help to take the gayness out of the Navy.

I think it's great how all the Navy vets just give everyone a pass in this thread to rip on it.

There are no gays in Iran!
What about your Navy.
There is no Navy in Iran!

I want you to try and concentrate like a laser beam my left wing friend.......We are talking about pregnancies aboard Navy Ships.

Well, obviously you slept in that day of biology as the female does have responsibility of carrying the baby for 9 months then raise baby to young adulthood while you go dress up like a cartoon.

We're saying that's impossible. Someone is fudging the numbers.

Shipmate, I hate to burst your bubble, but your source says exactly nothing about sex on ships. In fact, it is talking about all pregnancies, wherever they occur. This is a large, unsubtle difference.

He seriously implied that rape in the military is the fault of liberals. Yet another example of how thin and flimsy that "personal responsibility" schtick is.

I just knew you were going to say that. You have essentially said men cannot control themselves around women and it is the women's fault. You never cease to amaze.

There are things in life that men can not do vice versa my left wing friend.......No matter how you on the far left want to make the military a social experiment that will not change.

There you go again with that "Left Wing" crap. I will now repeat to you for the 6000th time that just because someone does not see eye-to-eye with you, it does not make them "Left Wing" (not that there is anything wrong with that). Like most people, I am conservative on some issues, liberal on others, but mostly in the middle. You are what you are . . . a one horse pony.

It was pretty obvious this would happen. Hell, the Navy couldn't stop all the buttsex before they allowed women in, what did they think would happen once it was? Though ultimately it is still the individual's at fault for their own actions.

I want you to try and concentrate like a laser beam my left wing friend.......We are talking about pregnancies aboard Navy Ships.

Laser beams do not concentrate. They are coherent, yes, can have long Rayleigh lengths, but there is nothing about "concentration" or rather photon flux that would be different from other, non-coherent light sources. I think what you want is focus like a laser beam since a TEM0,0 Gaussian laser beam can focus to diffraction limited waist sizes, which is not true of other non-coherent light sources.

You would have no logistical problem if women did not serve aboard ship.

Nor would you have such a problem if we simply neutered all men who joined the Navy. Like it or not women and men are going to serve together.

Your solution smacks of the wahhabists who think that the problems with the desires of men can be solved by covering all women from head to toe.

and in the Navy thry are in epedemic proportions aboard ship. The stories I could tell you like a sub tender after a 6 month cruise being called the love boat.
