Tom DeLay Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison

About ****ing time. With regards to justice, Tom sure as hell lived up to his last name.

Tom DeLay Sentenced To 3 Years In Prison

Former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, once considered among the nation's most powerful and feared lawmakers, was sentenced to three years in prison Monday for a scheme to influence elections that already cost him his job, leadership post and millions of dollars in legal fees. The sentence comes after a jury in November convicted DeLay, a Houston-area Republican, on charges of money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering for using a political action committee to illegally send corporate donations to Texas House candidates in 2002. Prosecutors said DeLay will likely be free for months or even years as his appeal makes it through the Texas court system.

The whole thing is exactly what Dave Chappele exemplified in this bit called "Tron Carter's Law & Order". Two different justice system's indeed.

Yeah, and Tom Delay was tried in the justice system when you go to jail for committing an act that was made illegal after you comitted it.

Gotta love that, right?

Here are a few examples of what I'm talking about:

DuPage County Republican chairman Ramey apologizes for DUI stop - Chicago Tribune

Notice republican in the headline^^ was "democrat in any of your headlines? NO

Idaho Republican senator charged with drunk driving - Chicago Tribune

AGAIN^^ with "republican" in the headline.

I can throw more out..

BTW, both were front page news.

Are you serious? I never followed his case, but if he was convicted for violating laws that did not exist, I don't get how that can stand on appeal.

I'm sure the neo-cons did.... But don't forget - unlike progressives non-progressives (republicans in this case) are not collectivists that play "follow the leader."

BTW, I've talked to many republicans that denounced DeLay.

I myself am not even defending him - I'm pointing out that it is epic BS that democrats can even sit here and pretend as if their crap doesn't stink....

Yea, right........ But I remember.

DUI whoop tee doo. DeLay's problem is election fraud. I'm there are democrats that do that too

Do progressives have reading comprehension problems?

I never claimed brushes with the law didn't go unreported - I said they were buried - as in - not in the headlines - you know the "second page" on the way bottom - the place where people generally don't look while republicans who j-walk get the actual headline or at least make the front page.

Read this and maybe you will understand, because this is how the progressive media promotes their bullcrap.

How do you know that was buried? I remember very well when Kennedy was arrested and all the other stories that followed until he left the House. It was widely reported in the news, print and cable. Without an image capture I cannot prove it was on the front page and you cannot prove it wasn't.

Another more recent case is Jesse Jackson Jr. The mystery surrounding whereabouts this summer. The revelation he was at the Mayo Clinic. The scandal of a federal investigation and his stepping down due to that. All very prominently reported.

Is there any doubt Patrick Kennedy is a Democrat? Or, as I just added, Jesse Jackson Jr?

That's exactly what happened. Gotta love Libbo justice.

My point is media bias...

The simple fact "republican" was used in the headline was for no goddamn reason but to bash republicans.

Had the story involved a democrat it would have read: "DuPage County chairman Ramey apologizes for DUI stop - Chicago Tribune" or "Idaho senator charged with drunk driving - Chicago Tribune."

When democrats get charged with crimes and it makes the paper the headline DOES NOT mention their party affiliation - at least not in the MSM.

The Libral Media conspiracy meme. The last bastion of conservatives losing another argument on the merits.

The thread has nothing to do with media bias. It is about Tom delay and and election fraud. Go find a D involved in election fraud

Of course I understand. Progressives don't understand.

The progressive idea of the Fairness Doctrine is turn Fox News into MSNBC, then invite 10 progressives to bully a non-progressive on an op-ed program...

That's their idea of "fair."

Psssst: Reagan ended the fairness doctrine. It no longer exists under FCC rules. Regrettably.

Hey kids, I count six tea party memes in one post!

Really?

So if an individual makes an observation and states that observation they are acting "childish" just because of the subject?

Not to mention why don't you go tell those goddamn progressives they're acting like children when they say: "no fair, you must pay your fair share in taxes."

Wow! It's like stream of consciousness in Ann Coulter's rumpus room.

Is there any doubt Patrick Kennedy is a Democrat? Or, as I just added, Jesse Jackson Jr?

Kennedy and Jackson are common sir names - so it doesn't matter, what also doesn't matter is their political affiliations (republican or democrat) if they get busted for something non-related to their job. However when the MSM writes: "republican blah blah charged with DUI" they are simply trying to tie the alleged crime to the republican party as a whole, when they (the MSM) says: "Patrick Kennedy" charged with DUI they're trying to place the charge on the individual not the political party.

It's partisan nonsense via implication or more like attempted manipulation of the reader.

Remember Fox News identifying a miscreant Republican as a Democrat? They've done that a couple of times.

Hey kids, I count six tea party memes in one post!

Are you progressives capable of writing a paragraph or do you believe your 4th grade one-liner insults are so creative there would be no purpose? or maybe you're just too goddamn entitled, lazy and arrogant to concoct a semi-high school dissent or argument?

Nope. You are quite simply wrong. You've obviously got a chip on your shoulder about this, so I won't bother trying to disabuse you of your preconceptions. Go ahead and run with the crazy.

It's not conspiracy - Its called "Chicago politics" - ever hear?

Few care around here just because they get free crap on the taxpayers coin and that is enough to allow people to look the other way when mass corruption is taking place. Not to mention Chicago is filled with masses of idiots who couldn't tell you who Ronald Reagan was. But that is the way democrats like it here in Chicago because they know all they have to do is spend epic amounts of taxpayers money on social programs and they will stay in power and get away with their corruption.

Hell they've made numerous movies and TV shows about how corrupt Chicago actually is.

Chicago is a corruption circus and the democrat politicians here are proud of that, not only that but they act like they're doing nothing wrong.

How many Illinois Govs. are in the can and what party do they belong to?

I'm too busy pointing out your tea party memes and talking points to worry about your vapid insults. It's frankly a blast to demonstrate how the rightwing mind circles around its memes, without ever approaching a fact.

You didn't. I'm sorry I said that.
