Fiscal Cliff Bill Passes[W: 110]

Its unreal isn't it ?

There's not one honest utterance out of the mouth of any liberal these days as. Hospitals get to pass on their extra cost of supporting half the Dr Fix straight to us by way of higher premiums.

And people on this forum say with a straight face how they "understand why they need to have their taxes raised" or how ObamaCare is good for the country or will lower the deficit.

Its like a retarded guy with a pocket full of 100 dollar bills stepping up to a shell game and Obama's running the scam.

I just lost my oncologist thanks to good old Obamacare lol. Moved from the State Hospital to Sloan Kettering lol

I would have preferred we went over
the cliff, and without any fancy smoke and mirrors maneuvering in early January to back-ass our way back up to the edge.

That way the citizen outrage would perhaps compel the fat cats in Washington to address the real foundational problem: in/off- shoring of our jobs to wage-slaves, out/in- sourcing of all types, both legal and illegal.

Scores of millions of American citizens are still greatly suffering in the wake of The Great Recession, 43% according to last summer's figure, with 47 million Americans on food stamps, including a true unemployment rate of around 14% nationally, with demographic pockets of unemployment still as high as 25%!

All this is caused by "The Global Economy" (read: wage-slave workers in a borderless countryless power structure run by comglomerates), whereby third-world poverty is imported to America, and the only way to extricate ourselves from this global nightmare for American citizens is to face the reality of our state of emergency crisis and address it directly.

Now that the Washington fat cats and their lobbyists live to do nothing another year, they won't be motivated to support we the people .. and too many Americans, grown complacent through apathy, will also just breathe a sigh of relief that their taxes only went up 2% (the ending of the two-year-old Social Security Payroll tax reduction), and they'll just hunker down .. and keep struggling .. while the increased income tax on corporations and private citizens with money sufficient to hire simply now won't hire .. and we wait for things to deteriorate.

Because we didn't go over the cliff, we continue to be the frog in the pan of water with the heat slowly being turned up .. and eventually we will be cooked, before we notice.

Had we gone over the cliff, it would be like suddenly turning the fire up to a boil, and then we'd know right away that it was time to do something, like jump out of this foundational mess!

Washington is simply loaded with cowards, both left and right, who continue to sacrifice the livelihoods and the very life-long careers of their constituents, just so they can "look good", they hope, to keep their short-term temporary job.

And all of America inches more dangerously over a nationally deadly precipice.

Hmmm....alot in this post....

First off "the great recession" is only as great because millions thought it necessary to elect a incompetent community organizer..TWICE..

The damage thats been done to our economy and the chronic unemployment is the fault of one man....well two if you include Harry Reid.

It has very little to do with globalization ( as if this is a new concept). and everything to do with a President whos more committed to his ideology than repairing Americans economy.

Corporations shouldn't hire JUST because they have capital. They take into account many things before chosing to take a chance on losing their principle.

One is the overall condition of the economy.

If your President targets those who invest real capital into the economy, if he targets those who are the engine of a free market system, then why blame the engine ??

Investors and corporations react ONE WAY to higher taxes and more regulations.

Its Historically been proven over and over and our shrinking economy shouldn't catch anyone with a brain off guard.

Re: Fiscal Cliff Bill Passes

The GOP can't win the debt ceiling battle anymore. It can just make noises. As to deficit reduction, with 3% growth it will become a back burner issue. Conservatism thrives on economic chaos. With the economy rightwing itself after the Bush Titanic sinking, the GOP will become more and more marginalized.

You must be Obama's lie writer.. you know zero.. your posts are sheer nonsense... if the economy was as good as it was during the first 6 years of GWB, until Pelosi and Reid, youd be doing handstands and have an Obama tattoo on your forhead..

Re: Fiscal Cliff Bill Passes

I would prefer working together in a reasonable manner from both sides no matter who is in power.

tell that to the obama loser , who doesnt work nor care to.. the losere class Obama is working to push well greater then 51% of trhe population..

Obama is a plaague.... a total disaster and the idiots in society cant even add...

Cancer ? I'm sincerley sad to hear that. As for Sloan Kettering being better than a State Hospital ? Well thats really dependent on the type of Cancer you have.

Our cancer treatment from Hospital to Hospital seems to be a more direct and more accurate application of poisons.

I think most Cancer is more of an issue with your bodies natural immune systems no longer being sufficient enough to deal with abnoral cell growth.

We have MD Anderson where I live and is arguably one of the best cancer centers in the US.

As for your good fortune provided by ObamaCare just know that it comes at a price. A HUGE price as millions of Americans struggle with chronic joblessness and poverty and dependemce because of its effect on the private sector.

But I think we've devolved to a society that's egocentric and hedonistic first and then altruistic and selfess second.

Am I right ?

Your good fortune isn't free, someones paying for it one way or another.

Re: Fiscal Cliff Bill Passes

They just did lol.

It seems that a Frenchman, dead for over 150 years, is a great deal more insightful than the Obamacrats of today.

“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.”
― Alexis de Tocqueville

Now they actually believe that 'the rich' can pay for their excesses but 'the middle class' will remain untouched. This is a profound ignorance, but one not without historical precedents.

She went there for the money not because it treats cancer better lol.
If not for the rich I would probably be dead.

Re: Fiscal Cliff Bill Passes

Why do those of us who are actually Fiscal Conservatives need to tone down our rhetoric? Maybe because it just may be starting to get through to some people, or is it because it causes what little common sense some of you may actually still have to get a little bent out of shape?

Why should the Top be paying MORE when the Bottom continues to do nothing but TAKE, TAKE, TAKE without ever putting anything back into the system? Personally, I don't want to see a single penny of additional revenue raised until the SPENDING is returned to its Constitutional limitations. Until THAT occurs, nobody should be willingly providing ANY additional income to the Federal Government.

You dont have to and its not me telling you too tigger...its the "OTHER" republicans...personally i dont care if you tone it down or not...its already lost more than a couple of elections...do what you think is best

Re: Fiscal Cliff Bill Passes

If you work for a living check your first paycheck with a pay period ending date for January and compare it to one of your December checks and let me know if it went up.

Can you read man...I said it would but it will be temporary..

Re: Fiscal Cliff Bill Passes

I'm always amused to see what the perception of the "teaparty" has morphed into. When they first arrived on the scene I went to a website to see what they were about. I remember finding a 10 point statement that could be summed up in one sentence, "quit spending my grandchildren into oblivion". The most radical point I heard from them was the idea that if you send more money to Wash, Wash would do nothing to improve our fiscal outlook and would instead create new spending. Not only do I not consider that radical, it's spot on, as just demonstrated once again.

The idea that the teaparty went after the poor, senior citizens, etc is absurd. They merely played the adult in the room and pointed out that anyone that thinks we are going to get out of this fiscal mess without impacting everyone including the poor, seniors, etc. is kidding themselves. The opposition to tax hikes on the rich is about not sending more money to Wash so Wash can't create new spending, the class warfare scene seems to be the lefts forte.

I don't know where the "teaparty" will end up, but the people who want Wash to quit spending our grandchildren into oblivion are still here. Perhaps a bit sadder and poorer but still here.

Most os the country categorically disagrees with you..and im not about to go point by point for the 50 millionth time

The tea party is essentially against modern America, a modern economy, and modern science. They want to return to economic policies that brought us child labor and 6 day work weeks, with most wealth going to the wealthy, zero pollution control, zero regulation of the industries that dominate the economy and external costs. The deny climate science, evolution, and think scientists are in a conspiracy. Indeed they think everybody but them are conspiracing, which is part of their paranoid maladjusted politics.

So your impression is about as off-base as possible.

It's obvious that the rich have not been paying very much since the 1980's. Their net wealth has quintupled while our debt has tripled. You don't see that as a problem?

Only more than ever.

I'd love to see the GOP revive the debt ceiling lunacy and prevent relief for victims of hurricane Sandy. It's totally defines how delusional and nihilistic they have become.

But it won't happen. Even rightwing loons like King and Christie are feed up with the tea party nihilism. The debt ceiling gambit is over.

You obviously are clueless on the Tea Party. Only libs deny climate science.

New song and lose nihilism/nihilistic. You've grown quite too fond of it.

Re: Fiscal Cliff Bill Passes

when the re negotiations start...this was a temporary cliff fix

The FICA tax increase wasn't part of the fiscal cliff deal....the temporary 2 percent reduction was just allowed to expire.

The measure passed Tuesday prevents middle-class taxes from going up while raising rates on higher incomes. It also blocks severe across-the-board spending cuts for two months, extends unemployment benefits for the long-term jobless for a year, stops a 27 percent cut in Medicare fees paid to doctors and prevents a possible doubling of milk prices.

The alternative was going over the cliff, an economy-punching half-trillion-dollar combination of sweeping tax increases and spending cuts. Despite the deal, the government partially went over the brink anyway with the expiration of a two-year cut in Social Security payroll taxes of two percentage points.

It has nothing to do with them being sick of the teaparty or the teaparty itself...its all about their re election...christie is a republican in a democrat state, he most like will be re elected easily but NJ is iffy..they get one thing stuck in their craw for ya party can change abruptly.

In your head, yes. In actuallity it doesn't work.

It's one of those concepts that only work in a vacuum or the isolated hypotheticals of a University classroom.

In the real world where our economy is global and any borrowed money redistributed just gets sent to China because we have almost no manufacturing base its a joke and doesn't work.

Am I to understand that its archaic beginings are lost on you completly ?

Government spending from 1933 to 1936 brought recovery, when we had a lull in spending in the years of 1937 and 1938 progress stopped. Then spending resumed in 1939 and 1940,recovery resumed. That was hardly a working in a vacuum.
