Harry Reid: "We're going over the cliff"

Not so. We don't start over with each president. There is a continuum.

This only seems to be the case when a democrat President is in office. In 4 years should we have a republican in, then I suspect that this view will change with the expected denial that this statement was ever made.

In context, when exaggerate the actions of one that are different Han then other, it calls out for comparison.

Maybe it calls out for comparison to you but it's an urge you should try to resist. It's repetitive and dull.

George Bush is history, Barrack Obama is now President and your fixation on George Bush, like most leftists, contributes nothing to the policies of the present or the future.

Yep. All of the "bad" stuff is the result of the prior (other?) party's policies and all of the "good" stuff is the result of hope and change. After a decade, or so, the truth will be allowed into history books (maybe).

I didn't say that. I said that the hyperbolic response to Obama is funny in comparison to aBush. So, in a sense I'm making the accusation to level against those who supported Bush.

Again, I don't speak for others, but you certainly joined the chorus blaming Clinton, so logically, you should agree with me.

I'm afraid Bush's mistakes I'll be with us a long, long time. Likely even after a Republican is elected.

When will Obama's mistakes be recognized?

Leftist mistakes are never recognized. They just weren't implemented properly. its leaders were occasionally over zealous, or they were destroyed by the 'right wingers'.

That's the beauty of believing in a left wing ideology. It's always in the future and thus can never be blamed for the carnage it created today and yesterday.

IOW, intellectually vapid.

that's it? You think he screwed up in A-stan? Well, crown you master of the obvious.

No. It is, however, one area. He should have been more forceful over health care reform if you want another. But if you think he's been the disaster Bush was, sorry, that would be inaccurate. I'd be hard pressed to find anyone in modern history who's been as bad as Bush. Some here work way too hard to try and make Obama seem as bad. Obama's not perfect, but better.

:lamo Yeah, right....I guess a true believer would think so.

Doesn't it take a true believer to believe Bush was better? See, that silliness works both ways. Instead, you have to show specific reasons. Bush invaded two countries, spend US lives without just cause, and broke moral law no matter how you want to pretend that he didn't break actual law.

Obama has gotten more troops killed in A-stan then Bush ever did, plus his ME foreign policy directly led to the deaths of an ambassador, and three seals while he did nothing in his power to save them...He has played more golf than the last three Presidents put together. He is more interested in throwing celebrity parties in the WH than he is showing leadership, and he is spending more than all other Presidents combined bringing this country to its knees...He is a failure, a liar, and an extremist hack.

for starters.

Bush started the wars. No Bush, no deaths. Sorry, that's a fail on your part as well.

Sorry to inform your hack Bush bash, but the Taliban started our involvement in A-stan...

Going over the cliff will not bring ruin to the world. The best option is a real deal that does something effective. Absent that, the cliff is the next best option.
My first estimate is that my taxes will go up by just over 10K. So I let one of my occasional workers go in November. I will still have to cut back in other ways. Money I would have spent locally will disappear in Washington.

I will take appropriate measures. I may put in an additional underground fuel tank and water tank. I will buy a small generator to deal with the power outages. I can stock up on some canned goods and grains. Ammunition and reloading equipment, of course. I have been evaluating solar panels and a battery farm.

No more money for my children.

Nothing that required invasion. We did not have to nation build.
