G.O.P. Leaders in House Pull Tax Bill, Citing Lack of Votes[W: 414]

Re: G.O.P. Leaders in House Pull Tax Bill, Citing Lack of Votes

Where is that Senate Budget resolution?

Why would the senate bring something to the floor that has an ice-cubes chance in hell of getting passed. The house is noted for that nonsense, the senate being run by dem has a bit more sense than waste time with nonsense bills.Hope that answer is to your liking.

Re: G.O.P. Leaders in House Pull Tax Bill, Citing Lack of Votes

Why not just let people buy votes like lottery tickets? $50 a vote. Why? Because that's not a Democracy either. Like it or not all people are equal in a democracy.

This republic is not a democracy. Or at least it did not used to be. Democraccies are three wolves and one lamb voting on what's for dinner. A Republic is an armed sheep.

That means it is in EVERYBODIES best interests to discourage income inequality. The more poor voters our society allows the more they will contol the Govt.
Wouldn't it be better if more of us had incomes that were taxable?
It is a pipe dream of an unreachable utopia outside of Marxism where all are equally poor.

We can change the laws to make more of a poor person's income taxable.

Did you enjoy the inaugural coverage today of our TWO TERM PRESIDENT that managed to get sworn in four times in HIS TWO TERMS?:2wave:

Re: G.O.P. Leaders in House Pull Tax Bill, Citing Lack of Votes

Please take a civics course and stop making a fool of yourself. Please tell me this is an act and you really aren't this poorly informed.
Jeezus! At least check wikipedia maybe.

The President submits the budget request each year to Congress for the following fiscal year, as required by the Budget and Accounting Act of 1921. Current law (31 U.S.C. 1105(a))[4] requires the President to submit a budget no earlier than the first Monday in January, and no later than the first Monday in February. Typically, Presidents submit budgets on the first Monday in February.

Re: G.O.P. Leaders in House Pull Tax Bill, Citing Lack of Votes

When has the Senate presented that resolution?
For FY 2010, on April 29, 2009. For FY 2011, on April 22, 2010. For both FY 2012 and 2013, on August 2, 2011. That's the date on which the hostage-crisis resolving Budget Control Act of 2011 was signed. That act supercedes Congressional budget resolutions for the two covered years. Guess you hadn't heard.

How many votes did the President's budget get?
Sham votes staged by Republicans. You seem to have fallen for them. Pretty silly.

Now that is real leaderhship which partisans blame on the Republicans. Just goes to show what idiots Obama supporters are.
You should be a little more skeptical of the slop the trainers are feeding you.

Yeah, I liked that also. Now he's tied with FDR for the all-time lead.

The Republicans have not controlled the House for three years and it is a Constitutional obligation to prepare a budget. Keep making excuses thus showing what really is wrong with this country today

How many Democrat votes did the President's budget get? Seems that excuses are all that you have including placing blame on someone else. You can delegate authority but not responsibility. The Democrats try to delegate responsibility for their own failure and people like you buy it. You are no libertarian, you are a full blown libreral.

The Senate Democrats do not need a filibuster proof Senate to submit a budget resolution and to not do it violates their responsibility but that is ok with you. It seems easy to blame someone else vs accepting responsibility for your own failures.

Re: G.O.P. Leaders in House Pull Tax Bill, Citing Lack of Votes

The Republicans have not controlled the House for three years...
I hope that was some sort of typo. Republicans have had a majority in the House since January 2011. To the detriment of the country, of course. Their arrival became its own little economic downturn, didn't it.

...and it is a Constitutional obligation to prepare a budget.
Actually, the word "budget" does not appear in the Constitution. You may have somehow confused that document with the Budget Act of 1921.

Keep making excuses thus showing what really is wrong with this country today
Right.

Right.

That isn't three years, where was the 2010 and 2011 budgets? I am sure someone as smart as you understands that the fiscal year of the United States runs from October 1 to September 30 and there was no 2010 or 2011 budget just like there isn't a budget now? How many Democratic votes did the President get on his budget?

Keep making excuses for the disaster that you helped elect twice.

Re: G.O.P. Leaders in House Pull Tax Bill, Citing Lack of Votes

How many Democrat votes did the President's budget get?
Still a nerf-ball question. The votes you refer to were meaningless, showboating, grandstanding votes arranged by Republicans in a naked attempt at providing grist for their propaganda mills. You appear to have swallowed the whole nine yards of it. As you never bothered to determine, the questions actually raised in these votes were whether to take up consideration of the President's budget as submitted, this when the normal budget process had already been abandoned. These votes were actually as to whether to waste a whole lot of time or not, and not all that surprisingly, no one voted in favor of that.

Seems that excuses are all that you have including placing blame on someone else. You can delegate authority but not responsibility. The Democrats try to delegate responsibility for their own failure and people like you buy it. You are no libertarian, you are a full blown libreral. Lots of words for someone who doesn't know the first thing of what he is talking about. Republicans raised a ruckus over the FY 2012 budget as submitted in February 2011, complaining that this one-year document didn't do enough to address long-term fiscal imbalances. In his speech at George Washington University in April, Obama called their bluff, saying fine, let's dump the budget process and go big. Let's solve these long-term imbalances once and for all, and here's my proposal for $4 trillion in deficit reductions over the next ten years. That's where the Biden-Senate talks came from that Cantor had to walk out of. That's where the White House talks came from that Boehner had to walk out of. After yapping and yapping, the stupid Republicans couldn't deliver the goods. By August, they had to slink off and make a nothing deal with Harry Reid that could have been had back in May and was so feeble that S&P felt compelled to announce a debt-downgrade as a slap-in-the-face for such doofus intransigence. And with that abject failure by the Party of Mad Cow Disease, the Budget Control Act of 2011 became the budget resolution for both FY2012 and FY 2013. And the bozos Republicans couldn't even get that done without the humiliation of Plan-B and then running right up to the fiscal cliff. It's like trying to work with two-year olds.

I have already provided the dates of adoption for every Senate budget resolution, beginning with that for FY 2009. Are you trying now to run away from all your earlier claims and ask instead about the dates on which the final pieces of implementing legislation were signed into law? It is becoming ever more painfully obvious here that far too many right-wingers have simply not followed any of these developments at all and don't actually understand how the process works to begin with. A belief for instance that Congress votes on budgets as if they were one big lump is simply a laughable misconception. Serious lack of homework-doing is in evidence amongst the group that takes that to be the case.

Dude, if there isn't a budget, the goverment shuts down. If a budget for the new year isn't passed by the end of the old year, then a continuing resolution must be enacted if the government is to continue to operate. A CR in most cases merely extends the terms of the budget currently in force, although adjustments to some spending may also be made as part of one. As many undoubtedly don't know, a CR for FY2013 was signed by President for Four More Years Obama last September 28. It will fund the government through this coming March 27, assuming it is not superceded by that time. A CR was made necessary because there was no resolution of the mandatory provisions of the Budget Act of 2011, mostly because Republicans actually thought they might win at the polls in November. LOLOLOL!

Keep making excuses for the disaster that you helped elect twice.
Keep revealing the damage that reliance on right-wing disinformation sources typcally does to any proper understanding of the state of the real world.

What I continue to notice is how little you know about the fiscal year of the United States and the budget process. I suggest going back to a basic civics course and learn that the fiscal year of the United States runs from October to September thus the 2009 budget year began October 1, 2008 and the Bush Budget was submitted in early 2008 but was never signed until March 2009 by Barack Obama. Same holds true every year thus the 2011 budget was supposed to be submitted prior to October 2010 but wasn't which is another way Democrats shirk their responsibility. Republicans did not control the budget process until they took over in January 2011 so now you want to blame Republicans for the 5.7 trillion Obama has added to the debt since taking office.

Exactly but Democrats didn't want that sho they submitted CR's to get us through and then Republicans after taking control of the House continued with CR's although they actually passed a budget. Democrats in the Senate still have never done so. Your lack of understanding is staggering.

Please take a reading comprehension course then go back to basic civics. Your ignorance is showing.

Did you enjoy it?

Sure did, as a matter of fact my wife and I got invite from our Senator to the inauguration but we decided to forgo the crowds and enjoy it at home, with a couple of glasses of Sonoma Valleys Finest, while watching on a 65 inch HD screen TV. It’s good of you to inquire Mr.V.:2wave:

That does not surprise me. How was Santa's campaign speech?

Why do I suspect you have spent more money on entertainment than education?

An art degree from SAIC wasn't cheap, even back in the day when it was called the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts ; but the Scholarship helped. Speaking of employment, did you land that assistant managers job you were shooting for at McDonald's?:2wave:

If Misterveritis were applying to be an assistant manager at McDonald's ( which I think was just a personal jab on your part) he would be providing a more valuable service than some "ART DEGREE".

Pay more attention. The personal jab was by Veritis over more money having supposedly been spent on entertainment than education. Current estimated costs for a semester at SAIC are $56K. That would be quite a lot of entertainment. As for those without an appreciation for art, what on earth do you scotch tape to your refrigerator?

My Granddaughter's pictures ( no college involved).
