ESPN’s Parker: RGIII A ‘Cornball Brother’ Due To White Fiancee, Possible Republican L

Re: ESPN’s Parker: RGIII A ‘Cornball Brother’ Due To White Fiancee, Possible Republic

I have quietly waited to see how the DC fandom reacts when they find out RG3 is a Republican.

I can promise you, DC woudn't care at this point if he came out as a Constitutional Party Satanist....Democrats and Republicans would still regard him as RGesus. There's little to nothing this man could do that'd cause an issue with the DC fanbase.

But really...as written by a black democrat on a Redskins board I'm on "Expecting a Texan kid from a military family to not be a Republican is like expecting a person with the last name of Kennedy from Massachusetts not being a Democrat"

I mean, he did go to Baylor. Not exactly a "liberal" school.

Re: ESPN’s Parker: RGIII A ‘Cornball Brother’ Due To White Fiancee, Possible Republic

Sure players and former players, but when Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson start lambasting this guy then I'll have a little more faith until then, my comment stands, anecdotal as it may be.

Tim-

A little more faith that what? The vast majority of black people aren't ignorant racists?

Sincerely,

Re: ESPN’s Parker: RGIII A ‘Cornball Brother’ Due To White Fiancee, Possible Republic

I thought that bayless's comment/question succeeding parker's was almost as bad : " what do his braids say to you?"

The entire staff on ESPN is full of racist, leftist trash. They are PC about everything until it comes to black racism/bigotry, which they seem to think is edgy and news worthy.

I remember hearing an interview with Griffin on ESPN radio just before the 2012 NFL draft (can't remember the show or who the interviewers were). After the interview when Griffin hung up the phone, one of the hosts said "He's a very well spoken young man", which if you heard the way he said it, was code for "Holy crap, he doesn't sound like a black guy!"

Re: ESPN’s Parker: RGIII A ‘Cornball Brother’ Due To White Fiancee, Possible Rep

Yeah...a liberal not finding this an interesting topic...more likely they don't want to be in a position of attempting to defend this bozo's statements. That's why I'm not surprised they are avoiding it.

You are acting really childish, did it ever occur to you maybe no one defended the racist rhetoric because they didn't agree with it? You seem to be desperately attempting to paint all liberals with some sort of racist attitude but it just isn't true.

So far I stayed away because I have absolutely no clue who these people are which suprises me as I see DC thrown around in this thread a lot and I live here and have never heard of these people.

And for the record I am a socialist, and I am married to an African-American who gets a great deal of flack from her family for "acting white" which I oppose, I think it is racist and stupid for people to act like that....however me, her, and her family all vote democratic so I don't see where this is some partisan line issue as it seems there is an implication of here.

Re: ESPN’s Parker: RGIII A ‘Cornball Brother’ Due To White Fiancee, Possible Rep

The ESPN guy is representative of an intolerant attitude by some liberals. That intolerance is manifested in racist commentary. For example.

Clarence Thomas was called a ‘house nigga’. Allan West and Cain were called Oreo by a member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Condi Rice was a victim of a racist political ‘cartoon’. Jesse Jackson once described Sen. Barack Obama as acting "white". Stacy Dash supported Romney and was criticized for it. The main criticism is that she was Black therefore she was stupid for voting republican. Other examples exist.

Oh, don't get your panties in a bunch, dude.

1. I'm not painting "all" liberals as being anything...but I am painting my fellow liberal forum members as being reluctant to come out in this thread to disagree with a national figure who makes idiotic racists remarks. And that, in no way, implies that those reluctant members are racist.

2. I don't know who Parker is either. I don't watch ESPN. But that doesn't prevent me from recognizing the boneheaded remarks he made or from calling the guy out for making them.

3. For the record, my older son's girlfriend is black, my ex-wife is married to a third-generation Hispanic (he's also a good friend of mine), one of my older brothers is married to a Japanese, my first sexual experience was at age 17 with a black librarian...oh, and another brother is gay. But all of that equals...nothing.

4. Something you should know about me...unless I make a public statement of agreement on this forum, the attitudes of other forum members do not apply to me. My statements and my opinions are only my own.

The fact is...I was right. The liberal forum members are staying away from this thread in droves.

Re: ESPN’s Parker: RGIII A ‘Cornball Brother’ Due To White Fiancee, Possible Republic

Seems liberals are avoiding this thread in droves.

I'm not surprised.

I don't watch ESPN, so I don't know much about this Rob Parker...but from the report in the OP, I'd say he's a dumbass racist hack. Why does he still have a job?

What would you like us to say? That he's an ignorant asshole who should be fired? OK. He's an ignorant asshole who should be fired.

I love righteous indignation from the Right when something like this happens, however. When it's one of their own, they become either silent or defensive.

Re: ESPN’s Parker: RGIII A ‘Cornball Brother’ Due To White Fiancee, Possible Republic

Well anyone that pays attention can say that it is truly the mindset for a large portion if not almost all of the black culture. Where the hell have you been hiding? Do you seriously expect us to believe that you have no idea that there are degrees of black in this country, and only the blackest of the black is mainstream.

Tim-

Stereotype much, tim?

Re: ESPN’s Parker: RGIII A ‘Cornball Brother’ Due To White Fiancee, Possible Republic

Russel Wilson also has a white fiance, and is bright and well spoken. Friggen RG3 overshadowing him every step of the way........

Thank you. You are the first and you are to be commended...despite your attempt to temper your words with an inaccurate deflection.

Re: ESPN’s Parker: RGIII A ‘Cornball Brother’ Due To White Fiancee, Possible Republic

If it wasn't such a regular occurrence and so extraordinarily pathetic, I would laugh at how funny it is that people continue to press the idea of what it means to 'be' black. Racial stereotypes are so awesome...especially when they are self imposed.

thanks, although the 'deflection' was actually pretty accurate.

They would be the people on ESPN. BTW your little picture below your name is WRONG! That would be two terms.

That's the sad part

What is there to say? The guy is an idiot? There's really not much of a debate here.

And it's not just idiot sports 'journalists' who practice Black on Black racism.
