I could be wrong, and I'm certainly no economist, but it seems that it would also bring down the cost of living in some of the states which have high costs of living. As for being competitive in the world, I fear that the only thing which will actually do that is that our wage scale would have to drop to essentially third-world rates.

I hope they don't go extinct because I need my pension so I won't have to rely on SS. If I lose my pension I'm afraid I'll be forced to become a geritol jiiahdist.

You know what Turtle, I'll give you that one.

SOME people can resist provocation, or even turn it around on the provocateur (my personal favorite).

But in a crowd of upset people an asshole can always find someone to overreact and use that reaction to paint a group with an innacurate manner.

I'm not sure how it's not the same thing as incitement to riot. It's certainly incitement of an INDIVIDUAL to riot.

I agree. The more entitled people feel the more quickly unions will make that a reality though. Within a couple generations, there will be no more big business manufacturing in the US, at least not unless people are going to work for not much more than a few dollars over minimum wage.

or people realize if you want to be paid more than some guy in India or Thailand or Uganda you better be more educated and offer higher skills

And don't forget that most landlords are paying their mortgages with the rent.

So rents CAN'T go.down too much.

Yeah, but that will be a drop in the bucket. I expect to see a lot more micro-market type businesses. The places worst hit that seem to be clawing out of the manufacturing abyss seem to be places that encourage creation of small enterprises across a wide range of fields. I saw some show, 60 Minutes maybe, that covered that. People put everything on the line (i.e. cashed out their 401k's) and invested their time and their fate in little businesses that they could grow like making their own brand pickles.

Yes. I honestly do think that we are going to have to readjust our way of life, in response to our entering the global market on a huge scale. Back in the days when imported goods meant that they came from Japan, Germany, or England, we could compete with that market on a relatively level field. Anymore, we can't compete. To do so, would require the entire economy of the country be restructured, which (imo) would be disastrous. I think that it will happen slowly, to the point that we will hardly recognize our country anymore. Either that, or we will be annexed by China. :lol:

Make no mistake- I do agree that we should do that, it's just that we have a significant number of people who aren't capable and/or willing.

He's not getting up off the ground in this video, he's ducking Cowdry's blow just like I said. There is also another video that was shown on FoxNews where the union guy is on the ground after Cowdry shoved him. Cowdry says there are hours and hours of video because they were filming all day. Admitting that was mistake on his part because people can tell the time of day changes with the editing as does the locations. But he spliced them together to make it appear it all happened at once but many of the shots are in fact hours apart.


So when Cowdry says he was trying to stop them from tearing down the tent....HE"S LYING. The man in the video that is telling Cowdry to get out of his face is no where nowhere near the tent. This has been verified by many witnesses and the video itself.

Okay I looked a both video's and in the second one it looks like Crowder put his hands on the man that hit him. Either we are not being told everything Crowder did and he edited the video. Or something is really fishy here .

Well, now that the dust has settled I've rechecked the video and compared it with others and I was slightly wrong and the guy wasn't ducking, he was in fact getting up off the ground. But it was hard to tell because Cowardry edited the part out where he pushed the guy. But that in no way makes Excon right because he still doesn't see it, in fact he can't even tell the video was edited. But I'm done with him.

That is what I was thinking the guy had to be knocked down he was not ducking. So people see it one way, some see it another, then some people are flat out delusional!

Education is getting too expensive and if wages are lowered...well you get the idea. If we don't do something about it soon we'll will fall behind the rest the world including the developing countries and then what? We resort back to a tribal society? It's already heading that way.
