I enjoy a good 7 & 7. but don't want the risk of an OVI, or the kids watching a good bar fight! :mrgreen:

He did not make a mistake! He chose to drink too much and drive, do you understand?

Charles Manson and his family also did not make mistakes when they committed murder.

It was intentional as well.

He didn't intentionally flip the car. That was a mistake. A lot of people drive drunk every year, and nothing happens. 17 million people per year in the USA, actually.

And the guy who leaves a loaded gun within reach of a 3 yr old didn't intentionally cause the child's death, but it was far more than a mistake. It was negligent homicide caused by reckless endangerment.

That's what a drunk does everytime he gets behind the wheel. He negligently,recklessly but intentionally endangers the lives of everyone else on the road. That is not a mistake.
 
I stopped watching football years ago due to the caliber of the players. Put low life gang bangers in a football uniform, pay them millions a year and what do you have? A low life millionaire gang banger in a football uniform.
 
I agree that drunk driving is negligent but I don't agree that he intended to endanger anyone. Being drunk, his thinking was impaired.

Flipping the car was a mistake. Do you think he wanted his friend to die? Of course not. Why else would he be found at the scene trying to drag his friend out of the burning vehicle. The accident was clearly unintentional.

People need to be held accountable for their actions.

Looks as if you just give passes to everyone, no matter what they do.

If he had not been drinking, none of this would have happened.

Given that he had an OVI and did jail time in 2009, he did not learn from that experience, either.

Your sense of societal moral responsibility is obviously non-existent.

The dead guy chose to get in the car with someone who was drunk. Where is his accountability?

I suppose it would be different if the drunk driver had hit a third party, but that isn't the case. He damaged his own property, and unintentionally killed someone who took a knowing risk getting in the vehicle with him.

I would revoke his drivers license for good, but leave it at that. It was a tragic, terrible accident.

Well this report from the first witness to the accident sure puts a different light on this.


A witness who arrived shortly after the car accident that killed Dallas Cowboys player Jerry Brown took place said she had to beg Cowboys lineman Josh Brent to pull his friend from the burning car, according to a report by The Dallas Morning News.
In a video posted on the newspaper's website, dallasnews.com, Stacee McWilliams said she arrived on the scene to find Brent pacing on the side of the road while Brown was calling from the overturned, burning 2007 Mercedes.
"Jerry was alive," McWilliams told the newspaper. "He was hurt. He was calling out and his own friend walked away."
Brown was later pronounced dead at an area hospital and Brent, 24, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

And of course Brent's attorney refuted the witness statement.
{Brent's attorney, George Milner, disputed McWilliams' description of the first moments following the wreck.

"That is absolutely false," Milner told the newspaper on Monday. "That’s not even consistent with what the police said when they came up on the scene. What I’ve been told is that Jerry Brown was never conscious after the accident. She’s a nut and she better be careful with this one."}

Now, what is the odds that the first witness to the scene would be a nut? Somehow I have a feeling she was telling the truth.

Believe his drunk client, who has everything to lose, but not the sober witness, who has no dog in the fight.....right.
