CIA Director Resigns

Re: CIA director Petraeus resigns over affair

All the character references, loyal to a fault, 37 years of marriage, West Point grad, 30+ years of military experience, director of central intelligence and throws it all away for a piece of *****? During the Benghazi investigation, which without his testimony will be largely incomplete?

Don't really add up...does it?

Look up two posts....

Still don't add up. General Patraeus isn't stupid. He's fearcely loyal. And, he's going to let some tart just dig into his **** like that?

I served with officers who eventually became brigade and division commanders. The two things they weren't, was stupid, or careless.

Not saying there's a conspiracy, only that the **** don't add up.

From what I understand, he did not "let" her, she did it on her own without his knowledge. I would guess he just trusted the wrong person. That does make sense, that does add up. Every one makes small errors in judgement that have bigger consequences on occasion. Does not make him stupid, does not make him less of a great man.

You don't become an theater commander without knowing how to cover your ass; generals don't make, "small errors in judgement". I can't say it enough...it just don't add up.

Re: CIA director Petraeus resigns over affair

I think you had forgotten the historical anecdote surrounding a fiddle, fire, and an important capital city ;)

Thanks. Sometimes I forget that not everyone is up on these things.

Years ago when I lived in North Dakota, there was a strip club just outside the city limits that was a hangout for the college crowd as well as the folks from the local air base. Naturally there were some conflicts, one of which was an ongoing graffiti war in the restroom. The college crowd was less well informed, and their contributions were on the order of "Air Force Sucks" but there was one outstanding contribution from the military crowd that has stuck with me through the years. The air force contribution was "Vidi Vici Veni" and it saddened me to reflect that within a generation no one would understand that marvelous pun.

Re: CIA director Petraeus resigns over affair

General Patraeus isn't testifying in the Behnghazi hearings. How convenient for some folks. Eh?

Yes they do, even generals make mistakes, even the great ones. You have read enough military history you should know that. Name a great general, I will name at least one mistake he made.

No, actually I am fully aware of the Emperor Nero and his 'idiosycracies'. I stand by the post.

Well, if Congress wants to hear from him they can subpoena him. You should call some of your Republican buddies and make that suggestion. I'm sure that will result in the revelation of the gigantic conspiracy you are all longing for.

Of course you would..... because someone who doesn't like Obama MUST be someone who would really want to call him a negro in a "code" way.... amiright?

Doesn't Petraus realize we need something to use in the Obama impeachment hearings?

Nobody is impeaching Obama.

For.... What......

Quit being a sore loser about the election and bringing up impeachment. People talk about impeachment all willy nilly these days, its a disgusting show of sore losership.

We lost, Romney wasn't elected. Get over it.

Dwight Eisenhower - Kay Summersby. Look it up.

Im sorry, but you are trying to fit a standard person with Shaq sized shoes.....

You fail as a shoe salesman.

All this issue shows is that Obama is very good at coming up with things that create a lot of questions...and not good at coming up with answers.

I've sure Obama knows that the truth will come out someday. Perhaps he thinks it won't matter if he can avoid the questions till he's out of office.

Lance Armstrong probably thought the same thing.

haven't read all the posts but apparently this has been the subject of an investigation for months and raises questions of why this pimple didn't pop until right after the election

Because he was supposed to testify Monday on Benghazi and now he won't be since he is no longer the director and someone else who knows nothing first hand will be testifying instead. Pure coincidence I am sure.....

Hillary's schedule is also full for that day and Barrack will be out of the country and, of course, will not be taking questions..

Seems there might be some subpoenas issued soon.

I read the news report. Thousands of emails to the woman Petrais had an affair with after she broke it off with him; when did he have time to work? It sounds like Bobby Petrino all over again. That must have been some goooooooooooood stuff.

However, his resignation right after the election smells, well, fishy.

Re: CIA director Petraeus resigns over affair

This is the head of the CIA, conspiracy is in his job description. So, you're supposing that the head of one of the world's top spy agencies is A) too stupid to avoid having affairs and B) not good enough at his job to keep it under wraps.

You have clearly never worked around officials at that level. They are human too.
