Filmmaker Innocence of Muslims Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison.....

6a00d8341c630a53ef017d3d646849970c-640wi

A federal judge on Wednesday sentenced the filmmaker behind "Innocence of Muslims,” the anti-Islam film that sparked rioting across the globe, to a year behind bars after the man admitted to violating the terms of his release from an earlier conviction.

Mark Basseley Youssef admitted to four violations, including lying to his probation officer and using bogus names. In exchange, prosecutors dropped four other counts, including allegations that Youssef lied in saying that his role in the film's production was limited to writing the script. Youssef was under a type of federal probation -- known as supervised release -- after being convicted in 2010 of bank and credit-card fraud, in which he was accused of causing $800,000 in losses.

Through an attorney, Youssef, who previously changed his name from Nakoula Basseley Nakoula and who also has gone by the name Sam Basile, asked that he be allowed to serve the sentence in home confinement.....~snip~

Southern California -- this just in<<<<< More here!

Well he pleaded out! Don't know what Cali law is. here it day for day. Plus good time 90 days. So with a Year sentence he would have done only 90 days. Plus that would not include any other jail time day for day prior to.

Not really much to say about this, the guy violated his probation and now he's being punished for it. I wonder how long before the posts start popping up about how he's really going to jail for the video.

I guess if they give him Home monitoring then it was all for naught.....other then to violate his parole. Which more than likely without any public attention would have never been noticed in the first place, huh?

And had he not violated his parole by doing this, he would be free and clear. The fact is, what he did was illegal (i.e. against his parole). He was punished for that.

Are you saying he should have been allowed to violate his parole because he was insulting Muslims while doing so?

That is a false premise.

Though, he certainly deserves jail time for violating parole.

Re: Filmmaker Innocence of Muslims Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison.....

The riots were not really due to his film per se, as the film was just a convenient tool used by the clerics to stir up the masses. Nobody would have heard of the fellow if not for these clerics.

Since nobody would have heard of the dude if not for the clerics, then he would have received little attention from the media were he to be sentenced for the parole violation, and he may have even slipped under the radar of such. Who knows? There is really no way to conduct a control on this to know what would have happened if not for these clerics who were intent on finding something useful to motivate violence. As such, I would think any specualtion that his sentencing had nothing to do with the Islamist violence is as errant as that which insists it was.

I think that wrong impression Is the one we'll see in the Arab/Muslim world.
That he was [really] punished for 'insulting Islam'.
That part of the Arab World, that is, that doesn't still think it was 'a Jew' behind the film.

False premise????? Seems Right there this is known as pleading out. He admits to four and the Prosecutors drop the other four charges. Looks to be totally true according to the piece.....huh? Course with the time he has sat in Jail that will be counted and with Californias over-crowding situation and that he is not a dangerous felon. One can see why they are asking for Home Confinement.

No I am saying.....that if the Film never became an issue. He would have never been violated for Conditions of his Supervised Release.

Ok, so that's obvious, but what's your point in saying it?

Well if this Administration would not have played on it with the Sunni Clerics.....then no one even notices this guy. That's the Point. Although there could be others.....

Father Of Navy SEAL Killed In Benghazi Says Hillary Clinton Told Him They Were Going To “Arrest And Prosecute” Mohammed Filmmaker At Son’s Funeral…

Speaking to the “Lars Larson Show,” father of Seal Tyrone Woods — who died defending the consulate and Benghazi — told about his experience of meeting the President and Secretary Clinton at the memorial service for the fallen a few days after the attack. Charles Woods said that the President “ couldn't look me in the eye” and “mumbled” an “I’m sorry” but that it didn’t seem “genuine”. He said the same of Secretary Clinton and that Clinton assured him that they were going to “arrest and prosecute” the man that made the scapegoated youtube video critical of Islam.....snip~

Fallen SEAL's Father: Hillary Told Me 'We're Going Arrest ... The Man That Made The Video' At Funeral

This kinda blew by with the election and all too.....huh? Despite Breitbart reporting such. Not much can be changed about the Father of the Slain Seal getting on the Lars Larson Show and relating what Clinton had told him.....huh?

Sounds like you're trying to excuse the guys violation of parole.

If I am carrying weed on me and then go to a demonstration rally against Obama, then my weed falls out of my pocket in front of a cop, I can't blame the cop for arresting me.

Just because my actions at the time (demonstrating) were legal, I was doing something ILLEGAL by carrying the weed. Same thing in this case.

Do you go by every law there is out on the streets? If you have broken the law and believe in the law so much. Would you turn yourself in for breaking those laws? Sounds like that is your point. Did you still want to stand on Law? Or is that only when applied to others?

I'm not excusing anything. Not even the Feds jumping down to deal with a Dept that is overworked and understaffed and which was clearly being handled by California Authorities. Course now with the exposure working to help convict this known felon. That is the Film itself. Do you think it can now be pushed to the side and the remarks made by Rice, Clinton, and Obama over this film and with the explanations over and in connection with Benghazi, can be forgotten like this guy?

Should people pretend the video has absolutely no part in this?

If you would go back and look instead of blowing up I was referring to the line "the anti-Islam film that sparked rioting across the globe"

I heard there was a demonstration in Benghazi because of his video.

I wonder what the terms of his probation really are. We've been told--by the media--that he was prohibited from, "using the internet", but you just can't keep from wondering if the terms were actually that general.

Big difference between posting YoutTube vids and insider trading.

I wonder what the terms of his probation really are.

That's easy...Don't spill the beans that he is the patsy for a tremendous foreign affairs foul up.

I am sure whatever Hillary said to the Father of the Navy Seal was comforting.

IIRC, Woods father said that Hillary told him not to worry, they were going to get this guy who made the film....

funny, Obama says he wants to "bring those responsible to justice," little did American's know that meant he would go after Americans not terrorists that actually attacked.
