Clinton Accepts Blame for Benghazi

Well anybody with at least minimal brain function should have realized that Katrina was mostly the Mayor's fault for refusing to put the buses in use for the evacuation, but that is a rant for another day.

And the govenor's. But with those two people making the huge mistake of refusing fed authority until it was too late... the same people don't want to blame Hillary for Benghazi?

So there's Bill Clinton, touring the country for Obama, while his wife gets sacrificed to the wolves. What a man.

I think Hill would have made a much better executive than Obama

Yeah, even if you like Obama and his politics, I still get lost on people arguing that he's done a good job as POTUS.

3000 times? LOL you proved my point many times over

I think it's positively shameful that a terrorist attack on a US Consulate that killed four people has been turned into political opportunism. Republican, democrat or other, every American... and I mean EVERY damned American... should have stood together and spoken out against this kind of atrocity.

Were the bombings of two of our African embassies turned into political fodder? No, they were not. We were universally outraged.

A pox on anyone who uses this tragedy for political gain. They should be ashamed.

there is an ad out with a retired NAVY SEAL bashing Obama over his taking credit for OBL and not doing enough to prevent two retired SEALS from being murdered by jihadist assholes in Libya

welcome to the silly season Owl babe

I haven't been big on any republican candidate the last two presidential elections cycles, and I'm unsure how such a remark speaks to Obama's skill as the commander in chief.

Do you think he actually did a good job pushing his or the democratic agenda? I don't, and I probably support more than a few of the positions he campaigned on

ABC News reports that Nordstrom has told congressional investigators that security at the Benghazi post was "inappropriately low" -- and he thought State Department officials stood in the way of his attempts to change that.

The State Department, in a break with other administration offices, now says it never believed the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was a film protest gone awry, as early accounts by the administration suggested, the Associated Press reports.

Susan Rice, U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, has come under heavy GOP criticism for saying initially that the administration believed the violence in Benghazi was unplanned and that extremists "hijacked" a protest against an anti-Islamic video. She did qualify her remarks to say that was the best information she had at the time and has since denied trying to mislead Congress. The AP reports Wednesday that a concurrent CIA memo obtained by the news agency cited intelligence suggesting the demonstrations in Benghazi "were spontaneously inspired by the protests at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo" and "evolved into a direct assault" on the diplomatic posts by "extremists."

Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz of Utah, a Mitt Romney surrogate and chairman of a House subcommittee on National Security, Homeland Defense and Foreign Operations, rejects Democratic claims that Republicans are playing up the Libya attack as a way to embarrass President Obama a month before the election. "I didn't plan on having four Americans murdered in Libya," Chaffetz tells Politico. "That was not part of the game plan. It would be totally irresponsible to punt this until after the election. Imagine the outrage, rightfully so, if we just ignored this until after the election.....snip~

meh, the administration kind of set themselves up for this one

If this is a political move, its backfiring will be clear when Romney hits Obama with an "if I'm elected President, the buck will stop at my desk".

It's not like Obama can be like "no, wait, I take responsibilty too" before or during the debate, so he's gotta eat it. And Romney can bust it out whenever he needs or feels the time is right; Obama can only wait and hope to divert.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. intelligence efforts in Libya have suffered a significant setback due to the abandonment and exposure of a facility in Benghazi, Libya identified by a newspaper as a "CIA base" following a congressional hearing this week, according to U.S. government sources.

The intelligence post, located 1.2 miles from the U.S. mission that was targeted by militants in a September 11 attack, was evacuated of Americans after the assault that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens. Three other Americans died in the attacks on U.S.-occupied buildings, including two who were hit in a mortar blast at the secret compound.

The post had been a base for, among other things, collecting information on the proliferation of weaponry looted from Libyan government arsenals, including surface-to-air missiles, the sources said. Its security features, including some fortifications, sensors and cameras, were more advanced than those at rented villa where Stevens died, they said.

The State Department displayed a satellite photograph showing two locations - the rented villa that served as a special diplomatic mission and the compound that officials had cryptically described as an "annex" or "safe house" for diplomatic personnel.

Both compounds were attacked by militants believed to be tied to al Qaeda. After the diplomatic complex was overrun, U.S. and Libyan personnel rushed by car to the second site, where they fought off two more waves of assaults, officials said.

Charlene Lamb, a top official in the State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security, told lawmakers that the secret compound took "as many as three direct hits."Two U.S. security officials, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, were killed there in what U.S. officials described as an unlucky mortar strike. As many as 37 people eventually escaped to Benghazi's airport.

The Center for American Progress, a Washington think tank with ties to the Obama White House, followed up with a blog post accusing Republicans of revealing the "Location Of Secret CIA Base."

Oversight committee spokesman Frederick Hill said committee Democrats made matters worse by asking questions about the satellite photos. "Even after Republicans objected, Democrats continued to ask questions that led State officials to put even more sensitive information about who worked there into the public realm," Hill said.....snip~

Also Once again when all broke on the story.....someone in the WH leaked information. How many times now? Personally I think it is someone from Team Obama and that they do so to try and get first call out to dictate to the media the direction of the story, and which way they want the media to take it.

Harry Truman had a sign on his desk that read "The buck stops here." Why doesn't this apply to Obama?

She's a scapegoat... but it's too little too late. This goes much deeper than Hillary Clinton.

Something's rotten in the state of Denmark.

Yes, there is. But don't kid yourself; Hillary's falling on her sword will be perceived by her party as an act of nobility. And it would be...if she hadn't waited so long.

I believe we would have if Axelrod wasn't running the country.

Now Hillary has been F'd by two presidents.

In their questioning and in the public testimony they invited, the lawmakers managed to disclose, without ever mentioning Langley directly, that there was a seven-member “rapid response force” in the compound the State Department was calling an annex. One of the State Department security officials was forced to acknowledge that “not necessarily all of the security people” at the Benghazi compounds “fell under my direct operational control.”

And whose control might they have fallen under? Well, presumably it’s the “other government agency” or “other government entity” the lawmakers and witnesses referred to; Issa informed the public that this agency was not the FBI.

“Other government agency,” or “OGA,” is a common euphemism in Washington for the CIA. This “other government agency,” the lawmakers’ questioning further revealed, was in possession of a video of the attack but wasn’t releasing it because it was undergoing “an investigative process.” .....snip~

Looks Like Hillary and the State Dept don't have access to the One that the CIA and Petraeus Has......huh? Plus we now know there was a 7 man rapid response team inside the compound the whole time. Just how does the Administration and Obama says he doesnt know about this.

2 waves of assualt, 3 direct hits by morters, two Former Navy Seals Dead.....Plus the US Ambassador. 37 Escape to the Airport.

Who does he think he is Foolin? p.s.....A Compound with Missiles!
