Controversial 'Piss Christ' art back in NY

Oh absolutely, and I admire your control, eloquent manner in addressing that. It is only in the past decade I would say that the liberal playbook is becoming more widely known..With the open analysis of liberal icon writers like Alinsky, to the media taking the mask off in ever increasing and open ways it is repulsive to the average American I think....Many JFK democrats for instance say what the hell is happening to my party? Like wise for those on the right.

Thank you. That's very kind of you to say. I just can't relate to either major party at all. They both seem to be becoming a bit extreme.

I will when you do.

When I do what? I already addressed the ridiculous claim that Obama washed his hands with the documentary for religiously biased reasons and not politically savvy ones.

What do you have? More complaining about the persecuted christians and dead people?

Ok, bare with me, humor me if you will Hautey....

I know in highly religious nations like Pakistan and Indonesia, this movie certainly pissed a large percentage of people of. Whether it be because they hate America or just needed a reason to go off is irrelevant. The movie was certainly a catalyst to it all.

In recent days we have been witness to Obama's feckless, weak foreign policy in the Middle East, offering apology, after apology, including paying out some $70K for an ad to air in Pakistan, and their government still made Friday a holiday to protest, where 19 died...All this supposedly over a laughable movie, (Not really) and what is set to return just in time to offend Christians?

Will we see Ms. Rice sent out to all 5 Sunday shows to apologize for that? How about Hillary, who is looking frightening lately BTW...? Will Obama make it to the Rose Garden to denounce Mr. Sorrano? Doubt it....

Well don't hold your breath Rep. Grimm....Obama won't do that, he has no respect for religious values, or what offends Christians in this country. He only made a big deal over this stupid movie because it is a good distraction of his failed foreign policy of weakness.

Terrorist butt smoochers could care less if Christians, catholics and other similar religious groups are offended.

Terrorist butt smoochers come in two forms.

The first form is what I call the terrorist butt kisser. These are are people who claim to be for freedom of speech and then makes apologies for someone exercising their right to free speech and say how they do not wish to offend other religious or how they respect all religions or some other nonsense even though they never made such apologies for **** that offends Christians,Jews, patriots or any other group of people. Nor do these terrorist butt kissers care that the people they are apologizing to burned bibles, flags, and did all sorts of other **** that other groups would consider offensive. The only reason they are apologizing to that group is because fringe elements in that group of committing murder and other acts of violence.Basically they are chicken **** little ******s and so of them just think it would great if no one could legally offend their beliefs.

The 2nd form of terrorist butt smoochers are terrorist anus lickers IE a terrorist salad tosser. These Terrorist salad tossers want stuff that offends certain religions to be banned(well mostly religions whose fringe elements resort to murder, terrorist acts and other acts of violence.) and they want the offender and his or her accomplishes to be punished. Many of these terrorist salad tossers are religious groups who don't want their religion offended and many of them are just like that little nerd who did the school bully's homework and gave the bully his lunch money hoping that the bully won't beat him up in return.Basically they are chicken **** little ******s and so of them just think it would great if no one could legally offend their religious beliefs.

Yeah, you sound so compassionate when you refer to the deceased Ambassador, as "the poor Ambassador".... I can almost hear the dripping disdain for your having to acknowledge that.

Not to defend her or anything, because many of her comments are so biased and ridiculously one-sided towards radical Islam as to make me wince every time I read her posts, but on the subject of Ambassador Stevens she's had nothing but good things to say.

Freedom of Speech, regardless of who's feelings get hurt. People like this can only "offend" you if YOU allow them to, and when you do allow them to, it only adds fuel to their fire because that is EXACTLY the reaction they want. I just think of them as foolish, ignorant and misguided idiots.

I'm not excusing vandalism or anything else. I just think that tacking on a "but it's really a compliment" is BS. It is what it is, and that's disgusting and offensive. A feces splattered flag claiming to actually be a compliment to the US because we don't do it right would be just as offensive with the explanation (perhaps even less without).

"Jesus is in the piss because of you, Christian" does not make it better or any less offensive.

Why people cannot be consistent in their views is beyond me. Anybody who has even the tiniest degree of intellectual honesty should be capable of applying the "smell test" to this situation, and by doing so, they would avoid all the double standards they are applying here. Why the hard left shows antipathies towards Christianity while acting as apologists for Islam is anybody's guess, but if people cannot be consistent in the principles they apply, they are nothing but double talking hypocrites.

PissChrist was obviously insulting to Christians just as the movie was to Muslims, and rationalizing that this photograph was "art" as a way to justify the hypocrisy just doesn't cut it. One could just as easily call the stupid movie "art" so as to justify the reverse bias. Unless the person who created PissChrist was born yesterday, there is just no way he could have not known his photograph was offensive. What kind of fool would believe he couldn't have known it was? In a similar fashion, the movie maker knew his film was insulting to Muslims.

Just apply the same standards, folks. All this b.s. being offered to justify your double standards doesn't pass the smell test. All you have to do is act with a reasonable degree of intellectual honesty and you would understand that.

Yeah, that's conspiracy theories for ya. After a while the only thing that matters is shifting the spooky plot around, pretending like it makes sense. The only thing missing with these darn things is some good ol' fashioned heresy accusations like the Romans, Catholics, the French, and the Protestants used to pull out...like, hmm...pissing on the crucifix (wink wink), cursing the Lord's name, engaging in homosexual orgies, and eating babies. Have to have each of those to make it stick, ya know?

I hear Obama does like "Baby Back" ribs...Since he's a Muslim, they can't be pork...

The Piss Christ was destroyed by French Christians last year.

"The piece caused a scandal when it was exhibited in 1989, with detractors, including United States Senators Al D'Amato and Jesse Helms, outraged that Serrano received $15,000 for the work, part of it from the taxpayer-funded National Endowment for the Arts"

American Liberals aren't the ones burning down embassies and killing diplomats. I haven't heard a big outcry except from the extremists here to have it banned.

That's not offensive. That is a political issue. I was talking about those people who are offended by the image itself and what they think it represents, not about those who have a beef with how it was funded.

There are a lot of people who were both offended by the "art" and also enraged that the NEA funded it.

I did not refer to liberals.

What you response has to do with anything I actually said is beyond me.

Your whole post was about how American Liberals were hypocrites for applying a different standard here. All in all, they're not the ones saying this film should be banned. A few of them yes, but probably the same percentage of Conservatives that believe that Obama was born in Africa.

yes, and your every reference to Christians (and Jews) is just dripping with contempt.

For starters, though, it was destroyed by one Christian, not "Christians", and Christians everywhere did not go on violent rampages over it. You are not here for an honest purpose, though, so I'm sure this simple acknowledgement of fact would compromise your agenda here.

Learn to read, dude. I did not say one freaking word about American liberals.

sheesh!

Contrived? Tell me connery, do you believe that we should cow to the demands of Muslim leaders in the ME telling us what we should do in this country?

One has nothing to do with the other. Congress made a law regarding a the National Endowment on the Arts the US Supreme Court ruled that it was constitutional. That ruling was in 1998. Why on earth would Obama or any president comment on this in his official capacity?

Sharia law is not the law of the land in the US so the answer is no.

I wasn't aware that someone made it sound like a compliment. It's certainly not a compliment. It is an ignorant thing to do though, but I try to not let ignoramuses bother me . . . too much anyway. ;)

You are one sick puppy.......

The exihibit was attacked in several European cities and in Australia.

Doesn't bother me.. I wouldn't waste six seconds on such trash that passes for art.

Somehow if that was true then he should do the same thing to the quran.

The quran has not been cheapened and commercialized in any culture that I am aware of. And given that Serranos has a Christian background, not a Muslim one, it would make little sense for him to comment on that which he does not know.

I think people need to stop dragging their politics in to this. Even though its presidential election season, not EVERYTHING is about politics.

That's what a lot of people don't seem to understand.
