I am talking about fundamentalist fanatics who are out of control..... I am talkim about Obama apologizing to them and giving a s*** about the feelings of other religions... in this case the Christians.

Not if you have clear principles, and stick to them. What are they going to do, if he takes a stance of strength in his convictions? Keep rioting and tearing up their countries?

There was no apology. They called the film a peice o' **** (more eloquently) and said it does not represent the views of the US Government.

But he didnt apolgise to the fundamentalist fanatics who were behind the attacks in fact he condemmed their actions. He was apologising to the millions of innocent Muslims who were offended by the film, large majority of them didnt attack an embassy in fact there have been quite a few peaceful marches. He apolgised to them and then distanced the US from the film and even aired commericals in Pakistan saying that the video was not a represesntation of America's views to Islam.

no but they could ask US embassies to leave their countries as well as US forces, they could end Trade agreements, stop oil sales to the US or of course attack American personal in these countries. He did the right thing he distanced America from the film and now is working with the ME trying to contain and end these marches.

After Obama leaves office there will be another suit to take over the job as president. Man, woman, any color , religion..... they are all the same in the end: They will not please everyone, they will do their best, they will succeed on some level and fail on another. I do not pay much attention to names, parties or words. I look at what is this person doing to protect my interests, if they are doing the job they get another chance if not there is always someone else to take their place. I cannot get too upset over these people as long as they exercise fidelity to their office.

That may be what they were trying to do, but really all they did was make it into a much bigger deal than it would have been otherwise. There are more people protesting as a result of his "damage control"

Almost as irrational as the people who got butt hurt over the movie itself but not quite as hurt as the people who got violent over it.

I thought briefly about playing off my stupidity as a joke - but decided to just own up to it. Obviously I've just been puzzled by the 'piss christ' and never realized it was just a photo.

Well damn - i always thought it was THE jar of piss with the pic . . . and it always stumped me as to how it wasn't a health code violation. LOL

So - if I can have this false assumption (because obviously I developed and opinion about it a long time ago and have never read a single article since then on the subject) then just how many other people are like me - stupid and thinking it's actually the jar of piss?

I bet you I'm not the only one.

But now I know - now my educationed is rounded out quite nicely.

That's not something you can quantify.

In the end there are many who will not listen to the voice of reason.

Not to Obama distancing himself from the film

And not from their own religious leaders telling them to calm their **** down.

And this is what it comes down to and what often upsets me about whenever Islam comes up, and not just after these protests which I do find rediculious by the way, but also during the ground zero mosque debates is there is, among the very ignorant this idea that Islam breeds violence.

Now if you could ask for a bigger statement of stupidity taking into account the human races history... I'm not sure you could.

One has to analyze the Geo-Political situation in these nations, and realise that when a population is as under educated, poor and one of the only things that has any real meaning in their lives is their religion is naturally going to react this way. It's human nature...

So the real question is why isn't anyone losing their **** over piss christ in the same way.

Easy.

We're Rich.

We're Educated.

And we're a hell of a lot less religious than we were even 50 years ago.

Do you honestly expect the American gov to say " yeh sorry but we defend our free speech so the rest of you can jog on"?.
Its a international incident and America has many interests in the ME both financial and military, you honestly want them to throw that away to defend some guys moronic video? The American gov spoke out against the attacks and have vowed to bring those responsible to justice while at the same time have distanced themselves from the video. Would you prefer they took credit for the video?
