Hmm, looks like these Republican witch hunts aren't flushing out many witches.

The House Ethics Committee will not charge Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters with any violations following a lengthy and contentious probe into whether she improperly aided a minority-owned bank where her husband owned $350,000 of stock during the 2008 U.S. financial crisis. The decision clears the way for Waters to seek the top Democratic spot on the House Financial Services Committee in the next Congress.

Yeah, those are some topnotch folks you people support.

LOL, good Lord, you'd vote for Charles Manson if he believed in global warming.

that story speaks more to the ethics committee ineptitude than maxine waters' willingness to use her political position to facilitate the enrichment of her husband. her spouse, the owner of substantial bank stock, stood to benefit from the meeting with the treasury secretary his wife arranged, causing the treasury secretary to question "why only officials from OneUnited attended the treasury meeting" barney frank, current chair of the finance committee, cautioned waters to stay out of it. but she did not heed his advice. that decision alone should disqualify her from assuming the chair when frank retires

here is the sanction the ethics committee imposed:
mikael moore, waters' chief of staff, is expected to be issued a letter of reproval for the three ethics violations, including taking official action to accrue personal gain and bringing discredit to the house.
mikael moore's excuse is that he did not personally benefit from the unique meeting he arranged for OneUnited - despite that his grandfather owned that substantial block of bank stock. which then tells us that mikael moore is water's grandson

is she going to now fire her chief of staff, her grandson? i don't think so. waters got away with it. let's not place her in a position to get away with even more the next time, as chair of the house financial committee

Bubba we have had many disagreements, but I think this speaks well of your character, when you think that wrong is wrong, no matter the side it comes from.
Right on dude.
