Chick-fil-A changes position

Is it? Do you have proof of such?

did you miss the citation? Chik-fil-A put out the statement.

...Contrary to reports first made by the gay-activist group The Civil Rights Agenda (TCRA) on Tuesday and later picked up by mainstream media outlets, Chick-fil-A and its charitable-giving arm, the WinShape Foundation, did not agree to stop making donations to groups that support the biblical definition of marriage in exchange for being allowed to open a franchise in Chicago....

Turns out that one of the organizations guy in OP said they were going to pull back from (the National Organization for Marriage), Chik-Fil-A was never a donor in the first place.

It appears someone has jumped the gun because I have seen nothing from Chik stating it has ceased homophobic funding.

Looks like that one day event didn't help Chick-Fil-A as much as the long term effect hurt them

Chick-fil-A agrees to stop funding anti-gay groups, Chicago alderman says | The Lookout - Yahoo! News

Chick-fil-A, the fast food chain that sparked a firestorm earlier this year after its president made public comments against same sex marriage, has agreed to stop funding anti-gay groups, a Chicago alderman says.

Joe Moreno, the alderman whose opposition of a proposed Chick-fil-A on Chicago's north side helped fuel the controversy, told the Chicago Tribune the company has pledged to include a statement of respect for all sexual orientations in a memo to staffers and has promised that the WinShape Foundations, its not-for-profit arm, would no longer contribute money to groups that oppose gay marriage.

Chick-Fil-A realized that bigotry was going to substantially hurt their long term profits.

Open big mouth insert foot again DD.......:)

Is it? Do you have proof of such? Honestly, I'm asking that question. If Chick-Fil-A on its own decided to change its policy, that's fine. If it's the result of government force and pressure; that's an entirely different ball game.

They did not change their policy.Catch up.

First of all I see no proof other than a Chicago Alderman that this is even true, secondly, I'm in business and it would be extremely difficult to gauge any economic information so soon after this event last month. I'd need at least a year, maybe 6 months before I could claim a loss in sales due to any specific variable.

I don't know why they would change their minds anyway? For what reason; even if it was financial, surely the hit wouldn't be that bad? What's wrong with supporting traditional marriage over homo marriage? I mean I'm sick and tired of the rhetoric from folks like you using words like bigot and homophobe as if they have any real substance to them in this context.. It's laughable frankly and only works on people who have weak constitutions. A complicit media machine along with a science light industry is not enough to turn me from the all important realization that men and women are supposed to be together sexually. From that natural (in the common understanding) relationship spawns a bond we call marriage. We recognize it and as a society we embrace and revere the bonding as beneficial to us as a whole. I don't see that in MSM and FSF bondings. I see a breakdown in the evolution engine that drives our species and all species on Earth. You want to embrace that design, then all the power to you, but to say that anyone that does not rever it must be a bigot, is frankly laughable.

You and the homophiles like you are free to continue on your campaign for rights, but I and many others are also free to oppose them. Opposing them seems more appropriate than supporting a socity that would openly embrace such clearly unusual pairings.

Tim-

solid instincts proven in that post above:
... In a statement released Thursday, however, the company said its stance had been mischaracterized.

“Chick-fil-A and its charitable-giving arm, the WinShape Foundation, did not agree to stop making donations to groups that support the biblical definition of marriage in exchange for being allowed to open a franchise in Chicago,” the statement said.

And according to NBC News, Dan Cathy gave a similar statement to former Arkansas governor and Fox News host Mike Huckabee.

“There continues to be erroneous implications in the media that Chick-fil-A changed our practices and priorities in order to obtain permission for a new restaurant in Chicago,” Cathy said. “That is incorrect. Chick-fil-A made no such concessions, and we remain true to who we are and who we have been.” ...

Good. Less money in politics is a good thing. Doubly so less money being used to support bigotry, but less money in politics is good.
