I'd hire her in a heartbeat.

there is a company that i fantasized about sending a letter like that to. i must have applied for more than 50 jobs there, and i didn't apply for anything that i wasn't really qualified for. of course, i sent no such letter, because i like to keep my options open to receive more rejection letters from them in the future. but who knows, i might get hired there at some point, so it's not worth the burned bridge. what really got on my nerves was receiving auto-rejection emails within an hour of applying when i'd been careful to make sure my resume custom fit the position. nobody read the damned thing. i found out later that they were probably not real jobs; they were simply re-deployments for existing employees, and just had to be posted to comply with some law. it pissed me off somewhat.

it looks like the publicity over this one might land her a gig somewhere, so good on her. however, this is still something i'd really recommend not doing.

That's awesome!

She will get a job out this but like she said, it is ironic what garnered her the attention. She did the verbal version of that jetblue guy who snagged a couple of beers and jettisoned down the emergency ramp.

She was awesome! That is some lol-worthy smack there. Damn, girl, you got it going on!! :lamo

I'm totally shocked anyone actually read the letter to begin with. SOMEONE in the HR office must have been bored that day, or something.

For the most part, online jobs, and the emails that go along with them, are never once viewed by human eyes. It's all done via software designed to seek out certain words and catch phrases. Seriously. Call up, and speak to a resume writer sometime. The first actual human contact with an applicant, actual human consideration, is typically, LITERALLY, the first interview, be it over the phone (usually), or in person. Everything else is determined by software protocall. So, if you never get that first interview, it's time to review your resume and cover letter, and see if you can't figure out which catchwords software are programed to pick up on for that month.

If you have ever applied for a job in a big coorporation, you can understand her frustration. Getting through the front door can be tough sometimes.

Interesting result for her, her book is now selling.

Her reaction is better than the unemployed young men who commit mass homicides.

I cannot condone this type of stuff. This type of idiocy and ignorance is uncalled for. It is kind of funny but nothing more. If you want to be treated with respect you should show it. You want to be treated like a professional you should show it. When you act like a foul mouthed little brat in the business world you will be treated like one. I wouldn't want to work ignorant people like this.

Whether she was seeking it or not, she is now enjoying her 15 min of fame. I hope she lands a job because of it. I would say her chances are good and now her resume is pretty much nation wide at this point.

Sometime enough is enough and apparently she had enough.

She is human. I don't think you are weighing in all the factors. In good faith and with professionalism she repeatedly applied only to be turned down for unknown reasons. When she does receive information from that same company, it is nothing more than exploiting her good faith efforts to get money from her.

I completely understand her reaction and am glad she put them in their place. You don't abuse someone's resume to try and scam them out of money. That is unprofessional.

The letter may have not been warranted or wanted but it was professional. Inviting someone as part of a business relationship (which is the best way to describe their relationship) to suck your dick is inappropriate. There are much better and more professional ways to handle that. In the business world you bite your tongue and word responses with professionalism and tact. You certainly never put something like that in writing. This girl is an immature idiot and with that type of attitude will never succeed in the business world. I don't think this letter is going to really have much of an effect on her going forward other than the 15 minutes of fame. Clearly she is not made for the environment she wants to enter, and she will not succeed in it if she is ever given a chance (which she does not deserve)

Lol......it wasn't inviting her for a business relationship at all.

Oh for ****s sake. Relax why don't ya?

When she applied with them it became a business relationship. They didnt just yank her info out of thin air. She gave it to them for business purposes.

Then you didn't read the story closely enough.

Oh please... the suits at the office had her name from applying there, and indeed were looking to pad a seminar for their own benefit and profit. Not actually offering anything of value. Trying to wring 500 bucks out of someone they should probably know doesn't have a job after they applied there 30 damn times... What sort of low level scum would troll unemployed people to make a few bucks? I consider them far worse than her email.

How you view it is not really relevant. It was a business invitation that she replied to the very unprofessionally and i certainly hope other employers take notice and this letters haunts her. This woman has no place in the business world.

Like taco bell commercials are business invitations........except there you actually get something to eat for your time and money.

Clearly you have no clue what happened here, or no idea of the business world.

Also wtf is up with your signature? Are you really showing off being a bigot? Your ignorance is astounding. As long as you have a hate filled signature like that please don't reply to my posts. Scum like you are not worth talking to.
