Job Seeker's Email To Padres Gains National Attention

How you view it is not really relevant. It was a business invitation that she replied to the very unprofessionally and i certainly hope other employers take notice and this letters haunts her. This woman has no place in the business world.

Ah, I see, how YOU view it is what matters.

She got an email from a bunch of sharks trying to make money. They have no ethics, they are looking at their own wallets and nothing more. Screw them.

And I've been in the business world, in many different industries. Sometimes in business you call things what they are. As I sometimes have to WRT my customers, and sometimes to WRT the corporate pinheads above me. It has always served me well.

If you ever, in a business memo, deserved or not to a customer or a corporate person above you invited them to suck your dick it would not have served you well. Or if you said anything even remotely close. Please try to stay honest here.

Clearly you have no clue what happened here, or no idea of the business world.

Also wtf is up with your signature? Are you really showing off being a bigot? Your ignorance is astounding. As long as you have a hate filled signature like that please don't reply to my posts. Scum like you are not worth talking to.

Seems to be you are the only one in the thread that does not what happened.

My sig is not hate filled so I don't know where you come up with that. Unless of course you hate honesty........

The sharks that were trying to soak her for 500 bucks where neither customers or corporate pinheads above her. They were just sharks, that snubbed her repeatedly but kept her information for their own financial gain.

So how about losing the mock outrage you have over this...

While I find her e-mail hilarious, mostly, the problem is her fault. To quote the article (bolded for emphasis)

Meyer, 31, says she has been out of work for 10 months, and dropped out of law school in July because the loans simply weren't enough to live on. She's been sleeping on a friend's couch since then, and applied to fast food restaurants and chain stores, only to be told she's overqualified. (Perhaps her BA in psychology, from the University of South Florida, doesn't help, though she claims she's an internship shy of a master's degree in sport and leisure commerce.)

So let's get this straight. She dropped out of school, which won't look good on a job application, and her only degree is a bachelor's degree in psychology (though she claims she's almost got a master's degree), and she wonders why she can't get a job?

Stop making so much dam sense!!

i dont have a mock anything. This guy has no place in the business world. That is pretty straight forward. They extended her an opportunity. She had an option to accept or deny it or not reply at all. Her choice to reply in the most unprofessional way shows her level of professionalism and that she is nothing more than a little kid. She wasn't upset about getting the invitation, she was upset because they didn't want to hire her. That is the way the business world works. You aren't going to get hired for every job you get. And if she didn't want that business having her contact information, then she shouldn't have given it to them. I would even bet that at some point she gave them permission to contact her with future opportunities.

I am going to guess based on your defense of the sharks, what line of work you perhaps fall into.....

Prior to her receiving the invite to pay $500, show us where she made that response or a similar response.

This is where agenda gets you into trouble. You tried to defend your agenda instead of using the facts and got busted being agenda driven. She applied over 30 times and never once gave that kind of response for being declined for employment.

Like the old saying goes, opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one. So do representatives from quite a few sports teams who now want to hire her because of her no-nonsense response. You can think she doesn't belong in the business world, but many in the business world think differently than what you are suggesting, and my opinion is that she will soon be crying all the way to the bank.

Bank how? Who would hire her?

I have no doubt many laud her for standing up for herself versus being an exploited fool.

The AHL for starters. They want to hire her. :)

You mean the guy the article says jokingly stated he was going to shoot her an email? She was on the radio yesterday and stated she was contacted quite a bit, and has had 2 interviews. They both declined to hire her. I seriously doubt someone who was applying for minimum wage work 30 times is suddenly picky. If someone wanted to hire her, she would be employed; and she's not.

A Southern California resident whose job applications were repeatedly rejected by the San Diego Padres baseball organization is now receiving calls from several general managers after an angry email she sent the club went viral.

------

Even the Padres' sales team was impressed with Taylor's courage.
"Taylor's letter was too incredible for anyone to get offended," one member told Deadspin. "I'm more impressed than angry."
According to KSWB-San Diego, Meyer has received dozens of job offers since her message went viral. The law school dropout told The Daily News that she has spoken with the commissioner of a sports league, several baseball general managers and some CEOs of other organizations. "The NHL and NFL have been especially great," she said.

As long as you have the ignorant, bigoted, hate filled signature dont bother replying to me. We arent discussing anything as long as you are openly mocking people for not sharing your religious views.

You can use whatever lame excuse you want to ignore facts you don't like. Calling my sig hate filled and ignorant is your lack of comprehension and not my problem.

It didn't put anyone "in their coffin."
****, I guess the next time someone tells off their boss, it should be prime news at 6 o clock.

Geesh.

She didn't simply tell them off. She had written it so effectively as to cause the email to go viral. She had written it so well it has garnered her many job opportunities.

Sorry I just don't see this as worthy of serious news coverage.
Our opinions may differ.

Nobody said it was serious news coverage. It is certainly more news worthy than half the crap out there.

She'll be on late night talk shows before the end of the month. Good for her.

I have hired and not hired many people. If I received a letter like this I'd have to interview her in person. Hell, I want people with balls and fire in their belly. You damn well betcha if you hired a qualified person like this she'd have to work her fanny off to walk the talk! If she is qualified, ambitious and as assertive as she sounds she'd be an asset in the right position. Taylor appears to be much more than some fat slag who just wants a paycheck. She wants a career in sports management. If it were me I'd give her the opportunity to work her way up in the organization.

I have worked with and have friends who are in sports management in the NFL, the NBA and FBS. They are to my experience great people who love what they do. They work their butts off and they work odd hours way beyond 40 hours a week. The people I know realize what a fantastic career they have. Taylor is gutsy. She doesn't seem like the kind of person who would require lighting a fire under her ass. She'll get hired and she'll be given a shot by a professional organization somewhere. It'll be up to her to earn her way from there. I think she'll do fine.

What a story! Go Taylor!
