The anti-Chick-fil-A protest - Starbucks [W:39]

Starbucks sucks. Well it is better than Dunkin Donuts, but still not that great. I only go there when I have no other choice.

The donuts there are excellent. The bagels are also pretty good, although they don't have the authentic taste you can get at a Jewish deli

The law is the law. You can’t say it is “HATE” if people don’t approve of your desired change in the law anymore than I can say you are full of hate for opposing sex with children, polygamy or incest. This is what bugs me most about the sanctimonious “gay rights’ groups is that they don’t seek equal rights anymore, they want special treatment and special protections that exceed my rights and protections.

:rofl :lamo What rights do gay people gain from SSM that straight people don't? According to anti-SSM logic, gay people gain equal rights from straight marriage because they can marry people of the opposite sex. Straight people aren't being denied any rights from SSM - they can marry people of the same sex. See? Equal rights!

True, but the [Dunkin Donuts] coffee is AWFUL. Starbucks forever!

The donuts are run of the mill (way better donuts out there), bagels are subpar. It's the one thing I'll give New Jersey, they know their bagels.

Actually, I saw DD coffee got some pretty good reviews. Never had it, though, so I can't give my opinion. McDonald's premium roast, when fresh, is not half bad.

You have to understand that the main reason chain store coffee goes bad is because it sits on a heating element for hours at a time. This evaporates the oils from coffee beans, which in turn lessens it's flavor. Like all food, the fresher the better.

Krispy Kreme is what God eats when he wants a donut. You eat a KK cream cheese donut and tell me that's not delicious.

Well if you would stop getting caffeine put intravenously into your body and actually drink some coffee you'd find out

I know I know, that's the inefficient way :)

Progressivism is built on efficiency. Thanks for the feedback, though. :2razz:

I dont think anyone is saying that allowing ssm would give anyone rights that someone else has. However, we all have the same rights now. SSM is more about expanding everyone's rights not about equal rights.

There was a place call Lamars Donuts in Fort Collins which was sublime, that is the best donut place in the world, but 2 donuts from them and you're a diabetic.

DaTechGuy's blog was rather interesting yesterday:

I kept my eye open till I left the house and found something very interesting there, or rather something very interesting that Wasn’t there. Can you guess?

I looked high and I looked low but there wasn’t a single solitary story about the great “Starbucks Appreciation Day” yesterday.

No links, no photos no nothing it’s like it never happened.

Take all the people who showed up at a neighborhood Starbucks yesterday, and take all the people who showed up for the "kiss" thing at Chik-Fil-A last week, and they would be hard pressed to have enough people to challenge each other to a game of softball.

Better luck on your next manufactured outrage.

Maybe liberals aren't as reactionary.

Ft Collins CO? Because I am going to be there in a couple weeks. May be getting diabetes.

Yeah, before I was an idiot and moved to New Jersey, I lived in the most awesome city in the entire United States, Fort Collins, CO. That donut shop is a little shopping complex on the corner of Shields and Drake.

I believe so, it was open when I left in Feb, so I assume it still is. They don't have much in the way of "breakfast" other than overtly sugared donuts and coffee. I love filled donuts, but I can have one of their custard filled donuts before feeling like a nap.

Yeah, but oh well. I prefer to spend my money on local shops than big corporations, even if you spend a bit more. The Green's Bean in Sparta is a pretty good coffee house, and much much better than anything you're going to get from Dunkin Donuts, which as I have said is taken as some form of actual coffee house around here. I don't think people in New Jersey have any taste. Must be all the pork roll.

Dunkin Donuts bad??? I'm so hurt. I have an ice coffee from Dunkin Donuts every morning, and I love it!

I'll go when some backwards cities want to ban Starbucks over their support for SSM. I like their coffee, but I make my own at home for a fraction of the cost. Although there is a Chick Fil A right next to a Starbucks where I live. I'll get a Chick Fil A meal and then get my Starbucks coffee and eat inside the Starbucks. People won't know how to judge me and will proceed to have a mind****. It will be worth the entertainment value.

Dunkin Donuts is like the WalMart of coffee. Cheap, quick, low quality. Dunkin' Donuts coffee is one step above ass.

LOL! Ass?? Well, I think some people around here must be coffee snobs! Believe me, I've had some really BAD coffee (like the stuff my aunt makes), and Dunkin is not it. Besides, some of us aren't into all that cafe mocha latte blah, blah, blah. Some of us just like a regular plain old coffee. Yum!

I live near some excellent delis that serve delicious bagels. The nearest deli doesn't just have cream cheese. It has chop liver, lox spread, and plenty of types of bagels (poppy seeds and egg bagels are my treat). Krispy Kreme is better than DD, although it is hard to resist Boston Creme.

I am a coffee snob for sure. I have had some horrible coffee that would make Dunkin Donuts coffee seem drinkable, there is worse than Dunkin Donuts, but that doesn't mean that Dunkin Donuts is good. Dunkin Donuts has at best mediocre coffee. Starbucks, while not my favorite place, is better quality than Dunkin Donuts. Local coffee shops are where you shall find the GOOD coffee. Craft coffee is on a whole different level from chain coffee. It's like the difference between awesome micro brew beers and Budweiser.
