Viral video of man picking on Chick-fil-A worker gets him fired

I guess you can add him to the 8.3% unemployed.

Hey buster, get it right.......8.254%.

In 40 years when everyone is pro gay marriage you will all look pretty silly for not supporting a guy who is confronting a bigoted woman on her bigotry.

"her bigotry".

How did you come up with that?

Then we can all be talking about legalizing beastiality, necrophilia, and lowering the age of consent to 8.

I think the company that fired this guy did the right thing. The Chick-fil-A employee that this jerk bullied has nothing to do with the opinions of the company’s president and this type of bullying is nothing more than good old fashioned fascism.

Wasn't he fired by UofA?

So much for the false belief that Universities teach liberalism. They teach you to think for yourself.

What a sick hateful comment.

IMO. This comment is an example of the ignorant bigotry that needs to tossed out of our country.

Good question. This is the moronic "either you are with us, or you are against us" logic that the "loud and proud" segment of libtards share. The assumption that that young lady at the CFA window had ANY connection to, much less control over, Mr. Cathy's personal financial or idealogical decisions is INSANE, yet that escapes the rabidly partisan libtards. In their eyes if you find out that the CEO of your "home corporation" is not a liberal then you MUST quit your job and join either OWS or a gay pride parade immediately. Yes they can!

What? You have no idea what, if any connection, CRIME has with SSM. This attitude is what the protests SHOULD be against, yet their are very few folks (I hope) that share your view. Being a moron is your right, but simply spewing hate and drawing FALSE parallels between sex crimes and the GLBT community is not helping to defend your "logical" anti-SSM position in the least.

So...if I'm rude to someone outside of work...as in, on my own time, my company should be able to fire me for it? If I cut someone off in traffic? Blow through a red light? Maybe yell at someone, for whatever reason?

Really, guys?
Yes, really. It may not seem right, free speech and all, but most companies address this subject directly in their employee handbooks:

Standards of Professional Conduct
[GJFlash's company] requires that all of its business be conducted with the highest legal and ethical standards. The purpose of this policy is to set forth basic principles and guidelines to direct employees in the proper conduct of the business and personal affairs as representatives of [GJFlash's company]. The following standards are expected to be maintained by all employees, regardless of their position:

1. Assure that all actions and behaviors promote the favorable image of the company, its management and its officers.
2. Avoid potential conflict of interest and personal gain or any appearance of a conflict or impropriety.
3. Promote the integrity, reputation, administration and operations of all the affairs of the company and avoid any conduct, whether on or off duty, that could cause embarrassment or disrepute to the company.

Pretty much on the nose, I'd say. If this douchecanoe had posted his hate anonymously it might have been a different story. However, he was so proud of his abuse of an innocent woman that he posted it on his public YouTube page, and linked it to his Facebook and LinkedIn pages. All the pages clearly listed his employer.

I would have fired him too, immediately, and not just because he made my company look bad. I would have fired him because he's an idiot.

Ya who doesn't remember learning in history class when Hitler and his buddies went around trolling restaurants owned by people they viewed as political opponents?

They actually did quite a bit of that kind of thing.

What do I think fascism means oh-wise psychic?

I don't need to be psychic. Sufficient information was contained in your post to demonstrate your wildly inaccurate definition of fascism.

I love the fact that this clown went out of his way to tell the girl that he is not gay like there was anything wrong with being gay.

Really, guys?

If you're stupid enough/proud enough to post a video of you being a jackass/bully on YouTube? You're too stupid to work for most companies. Step aside.

It hurts the company's image when one of their employees is caught on tape harassing the **** out of a fast food clerk, so yes.

What a candy-ass. He should go to the corporate office and do his chest beating there. Not against some poor student working for minimum wage.

But he isn't the only candy-ass to berate a young person working for min. wage in fast food place. Have seen others treat them like crap. They never even realize it may be this kid's first job.

I was once at Subway and this woman in front of me who had hips like two VW Beetles was all over a teen girl about making her sub sandwich. The woman said a lap of mayo and the poor girl did two lines of mayo. You would have thought the young clerk had put bleach on the sandwich. I just said, "Good grief". The woman turned to look at me and I just glared at her. Just like in the video the young girl did everything to try and make her happy. I am just tired of rude people to clerks like this.

Oh you are just the biggest hypocrite around today aren't you? Want me to drag up some of your posts on homosexuality for the forum to see how you really feel about the gays?

You know those common Chinese factory workers who have to live in the dormitories that are on company property? The ones that seem to be committing suicide on a regular basis? Yeah, them.

For some reason, while reading this thread, I keep thinking of them. Here in DFW there are construction projects going on that will combine living, shopping, and working areas into one convenient location. No daily commute time, plus less automobile pollution, plus huge savings in petroleum costs are just some of the bullet selling points for the Power Point presentation.

The star douche of this thread was a Chief Financial Officer for a company. He studied the totals and estimates of the bean counters that would have called him their Boss. He did not work in public relations, nor would he be visible to the public. His contacts were probably Bank Presidents and loan managers.

Without the popularity of youtube he would have probably pulled the same chik-fil-a stunt without losing his job. One mentionable point concerns last Wednesday. It's been heralded as a great day for chik supporters, but in fact was originally a day planned for people to go ask for free water, then place a Biblical verse on the counter about giving water and food away when they were asked to pay for the water. Half of the crowds last Wednesday were Chik protesters. The protest got leaked and the supporters showed up in number. The media was either clueless, or some may have been biased towards the supporters. There was no protest mention in the news.

So how are the Chinese workers doing? Are there any left? This douche knows what it's like to live in the dormitory. He wasn't ever allowed to go home.

That's funny. That's exactly what the Conservatives said several generations ago, "Decriminalize Adultery? What's next? Legalize Homosexuality? LOL!"

The water is free; but the cup costs a lot of money. Making a real point would have involved bringing in their own cup. Even in biblical times beggars were expected to bring SOMETHING to the table. Even when biblically allowed to pick up the gleanings in the field, the field owners were not expected to provide free bushel baskets.

Plus, what ethical point are you really making when you ask for something free that you can actually afford? Pretty shoddy stunt if you think about it.

As long as there are Christians on this planet, there will never be a time when 'everyone' is pro-gay marriage. There's really nothing wrong with that, IMO. Christians who believe what they believe, and stick to their religious principles have my respect. And I personally have no problem with gay marriage. The way I see it, gays should have the right to get married and be miserable just like everyone else.

Adam Smith apologizes:

Adam M. Smith Apologizes to Chick-Fil-A Employee - YouTube

A day late and a dollar short, but still. Good on him. He just went up a few pegs in my book.

And about the people sending him death threats: Really? Death threats? Unacceptable. There is no excuse for that. None. Maybe folks need to tone it down a bit. Not just about this nonsense, but about life in general. Just my $.02.

MickeyShane: Here in Colorado, Chic-fil-A doesn't charge you for the water. They give it away free to anyone who asks (even if they don't need free water and they're just being jerks about it). One of the local franchisees will even feed you if your hungry and don't have the means, so long as you don't make a habit out of it. Also, in our local news, they spent about 10 seconds talking about the appreciation day (with no mention of freedom of speech, which was what it WAS all about), and spent the other 50 seconds interviewing some lesbian. You should watch the 9News stream out of Denver, you'd love it.
