WASHINGTON (AP) -- The CIA station chief opened the locked box containing the sensitive equipment he used from his home in Tel Aviv, Israel, to communicate with CIA headquarters in Virginia, only to find that someone had tampered with it. He sent word to his superiors about the break-in.

The incident, described by three former senior U.S. intelligence officials, might have been dismissed as just another cloak-and-dagger incident in the world of international espionage, except that the same thing had happened to the previous station chief in Israel.

Counter-espionage. Why did he have covert communications equipment to communicate with the CIA? Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black.

A lot of enemies start out as friends.Which is I do not support giving aid and military equipment to other countries.

Not a surprise. They've been doing it for years. How do you think they got nukes?

They have become a serious problem for America.

Allies always spy on each other, always have.

This has been know for years. If anyone is interested and if I can find it the House Intelligence committee in conjunction with US intelligence agencies has published several reports on US allies who spy on the US. They redact the names of the countries, but tier them and describe their activities. If I remember correctly the top three countries were Israel, Taiwan, and France.

This should be it, I'll post the analytical piece on it later.

They have become a serious problem for America.

I disagree, they continue to remain an ally in a very hostile part of the world.

Netanyahu: “Once we squeeze all we can out of the United States, it can dry up and blow away"

U.S. intelligence sources report that the one Israeli who is considered an extreme threat to U.S. national security is former prime minister and current prime minister hopeful Binyamin Netanyahu. Not only has Netanyahu visited convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard in his North Carolina prison cell and advocated strenuously for his release, but he was once overheard by an ex-CIA agent as saying to a group of his supporters, “Once we squeeze all we can out of the United States, it can dry up and blow away.” Considering the damage the neocons and their Israeli facilitators are causing for U.S. national security, Netanyahu may soon have his wish.
Netanyahu: squeeze America dry and let it blow away

Why is that?

this is a baseless claim from a notorious anti-Semite and 9-11 Truther, Wayne Madsen.

the website you link to, is a racist and anti-Semitic piece of trash.

I used Israeli/pro-jewish sources in the past, and you still considered those anti-semitic; your plan of action it seem's is to derail threads.

That's how each side knows we're still "Allies"

Its trust but verify. Not surprising but glad its ongoing. More annoyed that it was released publicly. These are things that should be discussed in a private diplomatic setting.

I disagree, i don't think they should be discussed in private; as to keep the American public in the dark.

Problems with US supporting Israel:
1.)Its a huge reason why a lot of majority arab countries view us in a negative way
2.)Its a cheap scapegoat for Islamic terrorist to "hate us"
3.)Israel is a country that has been a huge violator of international law and human rights
4.)They take a huge chunk of US taxpayer dollars.
