One of the things, perhaps the only thing, that Rick Perry said that made sense was that all foreign aid should have a shelf life of one year and be reviewed publicly each year for renewal instead of just being handed out without question.

while it might serve as a figure head for what the arab world views as ****ty US policy towards them, their grievances (some justified, some not) go well beyond that.

It amounts to saying we shouldn't tolerate mixed race marriage in order to not piss off Nazis,KKK and other racists,we should require our women to wear burkas in order to not piss off die hard muslims, we should not have police present during mass protest rallies because it might piss off anarchists, we shouldn't have military recruiters in Berkley California because it might piss off dirty anti-war piece of **** hippies, we should allow illegal immigration so that Mexico won't be pissed at us, or anything else that involves not doing something because it might piss off another group.

A valid reason for why a bunch of people throughout the war view us in a negative way does not equal any of these examples persay.
