Colorado Shootings: 1st Dark Knight Lawsuit Filed [W:90]

If this is not an argument for tort reform, I don't know what is. How ludicrous.

I for one want to live in a world with militarized movie theaters with manned tanks just outside the premises. Anything less than that and the theaters just don't care about our safety.

Since people are talking about how he got into the cinema... He actually bought a ticket to the movie, left through the emergency exit and propped the door open with something. He didn't exactly walk through an unlocked emergency exit.

I think that would make suing the movie cinema itself a little less likely. It might cause cinemas to change the way emergency exits operate or something, but it doesn't seem law suit worthy to me.

Mr. Torrance Brown wants cash so soon after the incident. I would like to see therapist's report that would be submitted to court together with how many appointments Brown has had regarding his "trauma". Moreover, he should produce the records from the drug manufacturer showing a possible side effect would be to create the psychological modality that was exhibited by Holmes. The doctors should not be named but the drug manufacturers should.

This lawyer is scummy.

So much for the mourning period. Hey, Fred is dead and I gotta sue them right now. I do think the theater should not have a door going out that wasn't alarmed or had a notification system or a flashing light or something. Otherwise, I could sneak in all my friends once I bought one ticket. However, this abruptness seems really classless and distasteful to me. Of course, that's only an opinion.

Actually, I am prone to believe that enough anger to want to sue is a result of mourning.

this is rediculous. the theater/movie producers/holmes drs are not responsible for what this kid did. He is. Noone else but him. more frivolous lawsuit to continue to mess up america. i am going to counter sue this idiot for forcing a court system to waste my tax dollars listening to him

Think he'll sue the gun manufacturer?

I don't even live in Colorado. I wonder if I can file a suit because the story has stressed me out?.

It is law suites like this that give lawyers a bad name.

It is law suites like this that give lawyers a bad name.

It is lawyers like this that give lawyers a bad name. This guy spews his crap to any unsuspecting client who will listen to him before filing suit. Mr. Brown looks like a young man who may have been traumatized on some level, but, then comes this shyster and the next thing you know brown has been portrayed a greedy young man. I believe that the lawyer is the impetus rather than the client for this nonsense.

sue the theater for allowing him to go out an emergency exit and come back in with no one knowing about it

sue the theater for being a "gun free zone" or the city for not recognizing state issued CCW licenses

yep, all it would have taken is ONE SINGLE CCW packing and there wouldn't have been anywhere near that many dead and wounded.

Stupid gun control idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pisses me off!

Tim-

This is pathetic. While most people would be busy mourning and helping out the family of your murdered buddy this jerk is salivating over the possibility to make some big money.

Just pathetic.

Here's hoping he and his legal team meet with a good judge who throws the thing out as frivolous litigation and makes them pay for the effort and wasting the state's time.

I would call that poetic justice.

and sue the gun manufacturer, the bullet manufacturer, holmes neighbors, the govenor, the guy working concession, the architect who built the theater near an alley, the original creator of batman (or his kin) barrack obama, and george zimmerman too.

Just go all out.

I'm surprised he didn't. Seriously.

Shoot (no pun intended), in our fine tradition of absurd and frivolous lawsuits, could the shooter sue the manufacturer for the jamming?

I think I would start crying.

The only person who should be sued is the shooter.

I'm trying to imagine how he would pay.

Maybe, instead of spraying perfume into rabbits' eyes to see if it hurts (how mean to the wittle bunny!), we could spray it into his? He could become the primary tester for all perfume manufacturers.
