Top Republicans denounce attack on Clinton aide

so her family does have ties to the muslim brotherhood?

That's what Bachman claimed, and so what if her family has ties? Is she to be condemned for family's chosen associations despite her own history over decades? If you look deep enough into some of the rich white politicians and people working in Washington, I'm sure you can find some unsavoury family members, should we start a new committee to look into every aide's family history and connection, and question and investigate all of them? Unless that's not the real issue, the issue is that she is Muslim and they are the "enemy" right now?

why soo much attention on Muslims?

why not investigate Jews for membership in the Mossad...or Catholics for membership in Opus Dei?

Not Muslims; just Muslims who have connetions to terrorist orgs.

It's worthy of a look. If it's nothing, then no harm done.

so if your uncle worked with a klan member it would be grounds for investigating you and suspecting you of being a racist? To call such a case weak would be a total understatement

it would be a MASSIVE waste of govt. resources, in a time of fiscal crisis.

kinda like investigating Clinton for getting a bj.

Interesting to see the major GOP politicians who would have a lot to gain by attacking Hillary for harboring an Enemy of the State all line up to denounce Bachmann.

But the extreme right wing fringies are trying to create an issue where there is none. Mentioning the Muslim Brotherhood in an attack article as if that makes Huma a card carrying member...

Ms Abedin has been at the White House repeatedly since she was an intern in 1996, there has been plenty of time to vet her, to dig the dirt, smear right wing feces on the wall.

Odd when many Americans had connections with the IRA but no huge witch hunt, and they were terrorists by any standard.

The brotherhood did have some members who LEFT and created more radical terrorist groups, and the MB did assassinate Sadat, no saint and tortured many of his own people. Few Egyptians mourned Sadat's passing. Fewer Americans did. But now killing a vicious dictator is a bad thang.

This is typical baseless attacks, dwell on the brotherhood and make vague accusations of some association with it. Make a public spectacle where she has to denounce everything from the Brotherhood to tofu!

Sad and pathetic, even for dingbats like Bachmann, damn sad anyone is listening to her crap.

Protecting national security is never a waste of time.

well it would depend on what those ties actually were, and what her level of involvement with those people were.

Settle down, cowboy. I'm just trying to get a picture of what the accusation were actually based on, so no reason to wave about the pale-faced demon known as white guilt

Did the IRA kill 3,000 Americans one moring?

I can just see the questioning now:

"Madam, would you please state your REAL name!!!!!"

"this is my real name"

"Madam, have you ever been to an Afghani terrorist training camp?"

"what?"

"Madam, are you now or have you ever been a member of Bin Laden's inner circle?"

"huh???"

"Madam, do you eat pork....and drink alcohol?"

"I don't see how that's any of your..."

"who are you protecting??????? are you wearing a suicide belt?????"

"who? huh? what?"

"I take your failure to answer the questions as admission that you are a terrorist bent on destroying the USA"

Can't be too careful with national security.

If an aide had family connections to the Ku Klux Klowns, folks would be calling for their immediate removal.

Don't speculate, if you have a case, show us. Until then, you are talking out of your ass. Bryd stayed in the senate until he left on his own term, despite his ties to the KKK. Every election, he have news of Presidential candidate seeking endorsement from pastor who spew all sort of crap like this: John Hagee - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Foreign and religious influence" goes all the way to the President. That's not the what people are concerned about, it's only when it's Muslims that it becomes an issue for investigation whether there's evidence or not.

Here's the reality: if this dude has family in The Muslim Brotherhood, he has to go. The same would hold for anyone. This cat doesn't get a free pass because he's Muslim.

Except it doesn't hold for everyone. People with ties to Israel and terrorist group like the IRA get to stay:

ut long before Mr. King became an outspoken voice in Congress about the threat from terrorism, he was a fervent supporter of a terrorist group, the Irish Republican Army.

As Mr. King rose as a Long Island politician in the 1980s, benefiting from strong Irish-American support, the I.R.A. was carrying out a bloody campaign of bombing and sniping, targeting the British Army, Protestant paramilitaries and sometimes pubs and other civilian gathering spots. His statements, along with his close ties to key figures in the military and political wings of the I.R.A., drew the attention of British and American authorities.

In later years, by all accounts, he became an important go-between in talks that led to peace in Northern Ireland, drawing on his personal contacts with leaders of I.R.A.’s political wing, Sinn Fein, and winning plaudits from both Bill Clinton and Tony Blair, the former president and the British prime minister.

So guilty until proven innocent for "national security"'s sake? And yet, why are other "foreign influence" being ignored if this is the case?

If I was deputy chief of staff for SECSTATE? It wouldn't fly and we both know it.

Who said she's guilty of anything?

What foreign influence are you talking about?

the FBI was forced to disregard serious investigations into a few guys at State, who had connections to AIPAC.

why? because of accusations of anti-Semitism.

its too bad Muslims don't have that kinda pull.

many terrible things have happened in this country and others, in the name of "national security".

Better than bad things happening to everyone because we were afraid to hurt a few feelings.
