US flexes muscles as it sends aircraft carriers to Persian Gulf

The Carriers have been in the Operating Zone for months. It's not a new development. As the Worlds sole Blue Water Navy, controlling trade routes is critical to sustaining our entire way of life. Read Petro Dollar Warfare by William Clark to get a strong perspective.

We are not the worlds sole blue water Navy.

Los Angeles Times is reporting today that "The Navy is rushing dozens of unmanned underwater craft to the Persian Gulf to help detect and destroy mines in a major military buildup aimed at preventing Iran from closing the strategic Strait of Hormuz in the event of a crisis...The U.S. already has sent two aircraft carriers and a squadron of F-22 fighters to the Persian Gulf, and is keeping two U.S. army brigades in Kuwait. Though much of the buildup has been publicly acknowledged by the Pentagon, the deployment of the submersibles has not been publicly disclosed, apparently to avoid alerting Iran.

The CIA started this whole Syria conflict. Can no one reign in this out of control war machine?

I was disappointed Paul endorsed Romney when he bowed out of the race.

How can someone speaking out against the military industrial complex, do that?

Does that mean Paul was stage playing the whole time ...?

I think the next candidate must go farther than reduce the Pentagon by half but also promise to shut down the CIA. The criminal CIA represents a government within a government and usurps power from the lawmakers and hijacks the press/ silences dissent/ and disrupts legal demonstrations, in short the whole process.

Compose yourself. The conclusion expressed in your post is interesting. But naked conclusions are not persuasive if they aren't backed up by articulation of the rationale for the conclusion.

Collect your thoughts and post the reasons why you arrived at the conclusion expressed in your post.

In my opinion your conclusion is probably mistaken because it is likely that your fundamental premise about me is erroneous. In any event you have my attention and this is an issue I am prepared to discuss at length.

My apologies for my composure. It's just that, I had read your post and I laughed so hard I blew Mountain Dew out my nose. I should have put more thought into it.

I would welcome further debate as it is always a pleasure to dialog with you, however, I must say upfront I am only coming from a place of opinion and fare better in my debates when I have facts and figures readibly accessible. Sometimes it's hard to find a link for just common sense.

"Since the US State Department literally is directing armies of protesters and their armed counterparts in the streets from Tunisia to Syria, from Belarus to Moscow, and from Myanmar to Bangkok and Malaysia, it would indeed make sense to reconfigure it into something more suitable to oversee warfare rather than diplomacy. It is the US State Department from which organizations like the National Endowment for Democracy and its myriad of seditious-sowing NGOs stem from and go forth manipulating foreign governments rather than dealing with them as equal sovereign states, a long running theme pursued throughout the upper echelons of the "globocratic" elite."

No, she just has a combination of a moral compass and an interest in US strategic interests.

There's a storm coming. El tormento aqui.

Personal experience trumps what purports to be common sense.

I stopped being a Republican in 2004 when it became apparent that President Bush had thrown away an empire for nothing. I voted for Ralph Nader in the last two presidential elections. I currently support Gary Johnson.

I don't support President Obama because his sins are greater than those of President Bush both in magnitude and in kind. Bush threw away an empire. Obama threw away a country. Both did so without understanding what they had done. Both are war criminals imo. They should both be sitting in the dock at the Hague together.

And this is a United States invasion. The token assistance from France and the UK is window dressing. Obama is using the NATO cover to deflect criticism of more war by making it appear as "international" as possible.

Among the false reports by the Lamestream media to support the U.S. invasion (think Saddam/WMD)

1. Quaddafi used snipers on civillians
2. Quadaffi used jet strikes on civillians
3. Quadffi used viagra rapes on civillians

"...This latest deployment, as well as last week’s report of a steadily increasing U.S. military presence, may have unintended consequences for U.S. policy. Every step forward makes it more difficult for the Obama administration to back down. There’s not a lot of news in the very slow running contest between the United States and Iran, but the fuse on this bomb is lit, and at some point either Iran is going to back down, the United States is going to back down, or there is going to be war."

I heard that the U.S. backed "revolutionaries" were busing in protesters in Syria.

Throw in some phony demonstration pictures of people who support as the west labels them "opposition" and poof - instant color revolution ...

"In fact, the anti-regime movement in Ukraine was funded and organized by the US government, according to The Guardian. They claimed that The Democratic Party’s National Democratic Institute, the Republic party’s International Republican Institute, the US state department and the USAid are the main agencies involved in grassroots campaigns launched by the young activists in Ukraine as well as the Freedom House NGO and billionaire George Soros’s open society institute.[10] Officially, the US government spent $14 million in organizing and funding the operation of anti-regime movements.[11] In addition, Freedom House and the Democratic Party’s NDI helped fund and organize the ‘largest civil regional monitoring effort’

Explaining the Color Revolutions

How do you figure, that an Imperial President, Pentagon yes-man ,and Right Wing warmonger like Obama /Hillary escalating wars and insisting on regime changes around the globe are Leftys ???

How does Hillary Clintons imperialist vision and support of invading Iraq, looting the spoils in Libya, and her pledge of coming war in Syria, "there is no going back" make her any different than Right Winger, Kissinger or Madeline Albright starving Iraqi children?

I mean, Blitzkriegs and Napoleonic wars of conquest are essentially Right Wing, run by dictators, yes?

Grassroots Revolution , definately not.

Wikileaks exposes U.S. role

"An article entitled "U.S. secretly backed Syrian opposition groups" by Craig Whitlock (Washington Post, April 18) described in great detail the information contained in U.S. diplomatic cables that Wikileaks had sent to news agencies around the world and posted on its web site. The article summarizes what these State Department cables reveal about the secret funding of Syrian political opposition groups, including the beaming of anti-government programming into the country via satellite television."

Obama is Bush, "make no mistake".

stories from Syria and Libya,

Bush did what was necessary. He made tough decisions and he made the correct decisions.

I'm sick of liberal apologists who think we should let middle east nations decide what the price of oil will be.

I'm sick of liberal apologists who think we should let middle east nations decide what the price of oil will be.

I thought conservatives believed in free-market economics. The oil producing nations of the middle east aren't the only suppliers, if they demand too high a price then other suppliers could take more of the market by selling at lower prices BUT if the prices are actually being set by the oil companies then higher prices might be found across the board. Commodity prices are however established in a world wide market place and oil in particular often has its price set more by speculators purchasing futures contracts.

Anyway, your nausea being induced by "liberal apologists" seems to be more a result of your beliefs than actions in the real world.

I think President Obama is being very foolish in escalating his conflict with Iran. The Iranians have offered to resume negotiations. The President is going to get Americans killed. Check this out:

US flexes muscles as it sends aircraft carriers to Persian Gulf

"The US navy announced the arrival of the USS Abraham Lincoln in the north Arabian Sea and the USS Enterprise, the world's longest naval vessel, in the Gulf of Aden.A senior official in President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's government threatened in January unspecified action if American aircraft carriers returned to the Persian Gulf, saying: "We are not in the habit of warning more than once".

Although neither ship has entered the Gulf itself, the deployment will be seen as an unmistakable challenge in Tehran ahead of the beginning of negotiations on Saturday, which President Barack Obama has described as Iran's "last chance" to resolve the nuclear impasse through diplomacy.

In recent weeks Iran has been forced to temper its bellicose rhetoric after American and European Union sanctions against the country's central bank and energy sector began to have serious consequences for its already faltering economy..."

Got to make sure that the aircraft carriers are not white elephants to justify the billions of tax payer's money spent.

The glut of oil has flooded the market. Prices are being pushed artificially high by price fixing and U.S. corruption.

By the way, me calling out the hypocrisy of the right does not, should not - be taken as me endorsing every action the President has undertaken since his inauguration but the right doesn't do nuance very well so they may not understand such a position.

LOL! This from a guy who paints all conservatives as being unconcerned about war death, as thinking the President is foreign born, as thinking the President is Muslim, none of which is remotely true about all conservatives. Let those with true nuance demonstrate it.
