In a matter of minutes the verdict in the Sandusky trial will be released.

Is there anyone, anyone who believes this could be not guilty?

This was one of most lopsided trials.

Mr Sandusky , here is your new shower room and your new shower mates..
 
Remembering the fate that befell the Ed Norton character in the film AMERICAN HISTORY X in prison.... one would hope that that sort of thing would be the weekly routine for Sandusky in his new home.

His attorney said he's probably going to get life in prison.

Good riddance to a sick, sick man.
 
A very twisted, sick menace will be taken out of society. So many vile betrayals this man wrought. No pity from me. None.
 
The problem is that there are molesters out there right now harming vulnerable victims.

He studied the right victim. Young boys from less than stable homes. Knowing that most young boys are not going to want to have to tell someone an older male forced anal and oral sex on you.

It was his bulletproof attitude he had that brought him down . Be brazen enough to BF a young boy in the college shower room and then finally having the asst coach walk in on you.

I dont know who is more sick Sandusky or his wife who pretended nothing happened.

While I have defended the late Joe Paterno in this scandal.... and until there is concrete proof that he was part of the cover up (and he was the 1st to actually mention something was wrong) I will continue to do so. However, one of the things that sicken me other than Sandusky himself is the Penn State board, and the local law enforcement and prosecutor. All of these people are sick as they also helped to cover it up or never took it serious. And then once it broke wide open, their actions were just as sick to try to wash their hands of their own mess which they knowingly allowed to go on because they didn't want their pristine college to be tarnished. It only made things far far worse.

I hope that when there are adult males such as Sandusky constantly around young boys and hanging out in locker rooms and showers that from now on this serves as an alarm bell. Being involved with them is one thing.... but no man who has only honest interests in seeing children do well will have any desire to take showers etc etc. with them.

There were so many huge flying red flags in this case. Never in my life or my son's life in sports have I seen a coach take a shower with the players.

Come on for crying out loud, nobody didn't stop and say "what the heck is with that". A full grown man frolicking in the shower with a 8 - 9 yr old boy in the gym shower at a college? Did the school just think that these kids were lesser kids because they came from troubled backgrounds? I think there are others who should be sitting in that jail with Sandusky.

Perhaps if you were to show the part where Paterno did something about it by reporting what was told, and what was told to him was not explicit but yet he still did something about it. There is nowhere I have seen so far where Paterno attempted to cover up Sandusky's actions. You may have a good argument that he did not do enough, but Paterno thus far has never been proven to be part of the cover up.

Thankfully, even if Sandusky isn't sentenced to life in prison, he will spend the rest of his life in prison, since he's 68 years old and the minimum mandatory sentence is 60 years in prison.

actually, when the info was passed on to Paterno, Paterno did report it. I agree that he did not go far enough, but there were people who were reporting the activity, and it was the board itself which swept it under the rug, then threw Paterno under the bus for not doing enough.
 
I hope he gets life and I wouldnt feel bad if other convicts make his life bid as short as possible.
Having said that there are alot of others that knew over the years with this piece of trash was doing and could have stopped it...and I believe Joe Paterno is one of them. The way Paterno was loved and trusted there is NO WAY someone didnt tell him years ago what sandusky was about. Then theres his wife...she had to know

Even if he had an inking this was going on, which he obviously did, he should have stepped in himself. He had the power to get Sandusky canned. This was his show.

It really wasn't "his show" the way you and many others think it is. Sandusky was no longer on staff. Paterno did go to the board and they said they will take care of it. Paterno only knew what he was told which was not explicit in detail, yet he still went and informed the board.

YES, Paterno should have done more. inquired more, followed up more, you name it. Paterno was NOT a part of the cover up according to all info that has been made public thus far.
 
I heard this morning they've placed him on suicide watch. I hope this doesn't come across as mean but I don't get why they put evil people on suicide watch. Save the taxpayers all kinds of money. Allow the survivors to have a come final closure. Allow the perpetrators family to put the past behind them faster and go on with their lives. I think if they want to end it all, I can't see aha favors we're doing anyone by trying to stop them.

But, even tho he was no longer on staff... he had keys to the facilities.

This boils down to the same excuse the Caholic Church used to put image before the welbeing of children.

Here's a new flash.. if you think a child is being abused, tell law enforcement, not the boss.

Just as Sandusky hurt many young men he also damaged Paterno. They should have just photoshopped a picture of Sandusky forcing anal sex onto Paterno as that is basically what he did.

Paterno should have been able to retire with a huge celebration for one of the greatest college coaches. There should have been an event in which former players could have come up to the stage and gave stories of their time with the coach. But due to the selfish desire by Sandusky to play with little boys this never got to happen. Paterno died with tarnish.

Will Sandusky ever apologize to the Paterno family of the boys themselves? Never, neither will Sandusky's wife who I feel should be charged as an accomplice.

Instead Sandusky will be given 24 hour protection by the prison staff. What a sorry excuse for a human.

I disagree, Paterno knew about this and stayed silent to avoid scandal. He is culpable in the crimes.

You rarely hear of child molestors committing suicide. Sandusky will be content to live out his life sitting in a private cell having his meals delievered to him all at taxpayers expense.
