Feds to Florida: halt non-citizen voter purge

Here is a poll for you :)

By that logic, segregation in the Old South was just fine.

Oh, and FWIW, those polls make an excellent case to never take a vacation to Florida again.

Yes, how dare those evil Floridians not want their votes stolen/cancelled.

Or be forced to put away their "Whites Only" signs. States rights FTW!

Can't make this **** up ....................... but there it is.

Should I apologize for not being able to endorse a policy that is almost certainly racist to the core?

Ethics. It's a good thing. You should study up on that.

Did you seriously ask for the demoKKKrat party to put away their racist signs???

And you are the ethics expert here ? Can you link us to who annointed you ? Thanks.

Did you seriously just imply that the racist position has the moral high ground? If so, feel free to explain why.

What is the "racist position?"

If you happen to even know yourself, which i highly doubt. You are free to use a lifeline to your nazi demokkkrat publik edjewcashun "teacher".

You guys are more than welcome to have a rational discussion with me. Just let me know when you're ready. :)

You are the one crying racism. Go ahead and present your rational position.

You realize that there is no Latino "voting block", right? I mean, they don't vote 100% for Obama or 100% for Romney. Obama had a sizable lead among Latinos and this should increase that lead.

Do you have a link to the poll you referenced? All I've seen is: "Polling firm Latino Decisions and advocacy group America's Voice found that 49 percent of Latino voters in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Virginia are more enthusiastic about the president after his directive"....

IMO, Obama has not attempted a comprehensive solution because he knows that it would be a nonstarter in the House. Let's face it -- Bush, a Republican president -- couldn't garner Repblican support for immigration reform, and that was when the Republicans in Congress were less extreme than they are now. Now, Republicans in the House would reject an Obama bill to establish a national holiday for Ronald Reagan.

This is one area where the GOP screwed up badly. Whether or not you like George Bush, he had the Hispanic vote sowed up, and he was well liked by Hispanics here in Texas when he was governor. He never stopped reaching out to them. His party squandered all that good will in one fell swoop.

I'd like to know exactly what you're trying to say here.

Actually he is mocking what many libs hold as their own biases...Think Helen Thomas....I am frankly surprised with your supposed high education, and self aggrandized, over thought of your skills, or lack thereof, that you didn't pick up on that.

You are right, but your forgetting something I believe Dan...Bush wanted total immigration reform that included total amnesty with a few restrictions. The country went NUTS...all the polls had it in the low to high 70s % of people against it. The outrage made that flop...it also caused a huge backlash against McCain when he and lindsey Graham was spouting total amnesty. Mel Martinez senator from fla and head of the RNC retired because of it...it was very unpopular.
Now with the newly far right nutters that have taken over the GOP they distanced themselves even further....Obama will win a huge margin of the latino vote...and soon very soon the latino vote will be the DECIDING factor in national elections. All the gop brainstormers know this but they dont know how to deal with it yet.

They seem to be dealing with it via voter ID/registration laws that disproportionally impact minorities.

Texas has no driver’s license offices in almost a third of the state’s counties. Meanwhile, close to 15 percent of Hispanic Texans living in counties without driver’s license offices don’t have ID. A little less than a quarter of driver’s license offices have extended hours, which would make it tough for many working voters to find a place and time to acquire the IDs. Despite this, the Texas legislature struck [down] an amendment that would have reimbursed low-income voters for travel expenses when going to apply for a voter ID, and killed another that would have required offices to remain open until 7:00 p.m. or later on just one weekday, and four or more hours at least two weekends.

I am curious how requiring the SAME (valid state issued photo) ID for buying alcohol, tobacco, firearms, ammo, traveling by air, getting hunting/fishing licenses, getting SNAP/welfare benefits, cashing checks or collecting state lottery prizes is NOT seen as an "undue discriminatory burden", ONLY voting seems to be an issue. Hmm...

The latino vote is 9% nationwide, of which Obama got 76% in 2008. It matters ONLY in about 7 swing states, that ones that actually decide close elections, based on the winner take all electoral voting scheme. It looks "important" only on national polls, yet makes very little difference in the real presidential election process. Winning a few big blue states by 4% more makes no difference at all.

You can probably thank the union for that moreso than blame it on republicans...But objective honesty is far too high a hurdle for some, I understand.

No you're not. If you were, you would have read the link I provided and addressed it. Instead, you're simply parroting a right wing talk media talking point.
