New York Plans to Ban Sale of Big Sizes of Sugary Drinks

the indoor smoking ban was one of the greatest things to happen to NYC.

That is probably true. It certainly would not surprise me to learn that of all the things that a society could possibly accomplish, that this is the best New York City was ever able to do.

we rebuilt our city after the worst terrorist attack in American history.

we have job growth while the rest of the state is stagnant.

our population is growing, industry is thriving, tourists keep flooding in.

people love us, and you know it.

New York City kicks ass...and those who hate us are just jealous of how ****ing awesome & amazing we are. And when you add in the surrounding counties?...we are pretty damn amazing.

Sure, bash the non-NYer Bloomberg all you want for this. I'll join ya.

But we can't wait to get rid of Bloomberg and his Bostonian-suburbanite authoritarian ways. He's been here too long and we want him out.

And yet, he keeps getting reelected. Think he'd be as successful if he had stayed in Boston? I don't. I think New York City is one of very, very few places stupid enough to keep electing someone like him.

he helped rebuild this city, after 9-11. He's a jerk, but he helped make our recovery possible. We owe him some gratitude for that. And the guy who ran against him last election didn't really want to win anyways.

Rev is right, as I only support smoking bans in playgrounds.

Could be. But I said nothing about a smoking ban. All I did was note the comparison of his own cigar to his own mention of offensive body odor.

Oh yeah, what's not to love? The rats that are as big as house cats? The stacks of trash in the alley's and streets? Oh and the oh so forgiving of NYC auto drivers, that use their cars like an extension of their fists...? Now, don't get me wrong, I will say that NYC is a wonderful tourist attraction as long as you stay in the proper places, and don't stray, but let's not say that anyone is jealous of the rat race that is NYC, after living in the NE for 20 years, I am glad to be out of there.

Oh my, I guess Japan, Germany and many other countries have nothing on NYC when it comes to 'rebuilding'.

Its still a city. Detroit seems to be the only place capable of fixing that problem.

Nothing against NY, haven't been there yet. I just don't see how it can be much different than any other city. The main problem is still there, too many people.

and the anti-NY hate keeps flowing.

That wasn't hating on NYC. That was just a comment to show how stupid your comment about 'rebuilding' was.

I used to drive through the city with the family many many years ago. The kids were young, but to this day, if you say "NYC" they will respond with "sucks". It brings me great joy.

the clearly ignorant views of very young children, from decades ago about NYC, means very little to me.

New York City can suck it.

Give me tobacco fields and clean and clear beaches without 40 people per square foot anyday over that ****.

This is as insane as when they banned diners from cooking runny eggs for people that wanted them.

What happened to "government BY the People, FOR the People and OF the People"?? I have this funny notion that The People would never have done this on their own....

Considering your reactions to any non-positive words said about NYC, I doubt that.

A child is not being ignorant when they learn the truth from adults. If you can not deal with the fact that NYC sucks, hey, that's on you.

It's better to eat your pizza with a knife and fork than having to take lessons in Origami in order to eat.

It would take a person from chicago to think making a single fold in half as "oragami", I am suprised chicagoans know how to operate a fork AND a knife..... well the knife maybe, the way they etch into the tables and sumsuch, :2razz:

if you think NYC sucks due to the views of children, decades ago...I can't help you.

NYC 2012 is quite different than NYC 1986.
