Veterans symbolically discard service medals at anti-NATO rally

So, you would rather things grow so out of control that we lose a half-million vice four-thousand?

That notion makes one wonder what the real reason for opposing the wars are.

What? What are you trying to say? Hard to understand...

I don't understand...

they hate the government yet support their wars...

then insult those who oppose the wars of the government they hate...

few recipes for insane are this insane...

A lot of people forget that no-one serving in the military was drafted. It is a 100% volunteer force. No-one made those people sign up.

From what I heard of some of the speeches they weren’t claiming they were forced into it. In fact, I heard them saying they were sorry for what they have done. Hell, some of them enlisted around the time of 9-11, thinking they were serving their country. Then were horrified by what they saw and were asked to do. Regardless of WHY they enlisted in the first place, they now think they were wrong for doing so. It takes courage to stand up in front of an anti-war crowd and admit that. Plenty of people on the left will never forgive them. People on the right will belittle them. And their own families will shun them. I feel for these veterans.

Those guys have the right to feel about their medals however they want to feel and do with them whatever they want to do. Mine are at the bottom of a river, it was a private thing but if they want to do it in public it's up to them. Same with those who are proud of their medals and want to display them on the wall, you earned them you do what you want with them, you feel how you want about them and anybody who does not like it can go **** themselves.

No surprise that you don't get it.

I think you misunderstood his previous response to you. He was saying the reasons for WWII, the Revolutionary War, and the Civil War weren't "pitiful".

Or we can stop invading countries for pitiful reasons....

pitiful reasons? Are you ****ing kidding. When the Japs attacked Pearl Harbor was that a pitiful reason to go to war? When al Qaeda attacked on 9-11 were we not justified in going to war in Afghanistan?

yeah, we've had - what? 1.5 million folks rotate through Iraq alone? You could find 50 dudes willing to throw their medals in protest over the Coca-Cola Corporations' diabolical control over the country via their dominating the membership of the illuminati out of those numbers.

Al Qaeda simply means "Muslim Brotherhood". If some Catholics commit an act of terrorism is it okay to route Catholics out in countries that didn't plan any attacks? Iraq and Afghanistan didn't do 9-11.

It's literal translation is irrelvant, it is a terrorist organization. Not all Muslims (obviously) or even many Muslims are associated with it. Your point is irrelevant.

Al Qaeda simply means "Muslim Brotherhood"...

Al Qaeda means "The Base."

...Afghanistan didn't do 9-11.

Afghanistan's Taliban-led government sheltered Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, permitted them to use Afghanistan for planning operations, and refused to cooperate with the U.S. after 9/11 to bring Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda to justice. Afghanistan is a classic case of a "just" war.

No surprise that you don't get it.

No i dont think you understood me.
I said WWII, Revolutionary War, and Civil War WERE NOT "pitiful" wars...

Al Qaeda means THE BASE.

It was founded by ex Muslim Brotherhood members. The Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda have hated eachother for quite a while.

pitiful reasons?
I also think you did not understand my post or what i said. I said WWII, The Revolutionary War, and Civil War WERE NOT pitiful wars.

No. A nation attacked us.

When al Qaeda attacked on 9-11 were we not justified in going to war in Afghanistan?
No because Al Qaeda is all over the world. The Taliban even offered to turn over Bin Laden. Why punish a whole country, when a group only of 500-1,000 attacked us? We did not need to invade Afghanistan. Sure i would agree with a couple bombing runs and strategic missile strikes onto their bases, but to invade a nation that has destroyed so many empires is pointless.

Precisely... even list the good wars and they don't get it...

I can see you just lining up to fight the German conscripts while shouting jingoistic praises of the good ol' Red White and Blue.

So let's look at this....

The article speaks of "50." Never mind the hundreds of thousands that have deployed and deployed....I guess the "50" have spoken. These "50" weren't drafted. They weren't forced into a Vietnam situation. They volunteered to join an organization that deploys it's members to war.....during a time of war. With an entire history of wars to fall back on, we are supposed to believe that these "50" hapless souls unwittingly joined, on accident, to go to an event where the death of human beings (civilian and military) flabbergasted them.

Provide them no sympathy. These are people who sought glory when they signed the dotted line. These are people who knew where they were headed when they were taught to kill in their respective Army/Marine Corps Boot Camps and Combat training. These are people who grew bitter after Hollywood's romanticism of war proved to have lied to them. They chose to disgrace medals like the "Global War on Terror Service Medal"...the "Iraqi Campaign Medal"...and the "Afghan Campaign Medal" after they joined the military to participate in a War on Terror in Iraq and Afgahinstan. These are people who should have never volunteered to begin with. Stupidity amongst the protestors at its best.

John Kerry threw his medals on the ground as well. Decades later he would try to fall back on his military experience as a source of pride in order to assure him a throne in the White House. Protestors rarely know what the hell they are doing or even in what they believe in. They just get swept up in temporary emotion until they grow up.

Fail. Mullah Omar, the one-eyed leader of the Taliban, is UBL's son-in-law. The chance he would turn his father-in-law over to the Great Satan is like unto that of a snowball in hell.

Amen, bro. It's usually just another case of the American Idle looking for something to do with their time. The real tragedy is when they never do grow up.

Even the original NeoCons grew up and left the Democratic Party. Most college kid protestors become Conservatives when they get removed from University indoctrination, trends & fads and gain employment. Those Liberals that do not grow up usually turn into bitter Leftists and spend their lives denying that at the heart of their beliefs lies Stalin, Mao, and Hitler. It's what impractical dreams become.

(I'll probably get beat up for those comments.)
