Robert Kennedy's ex-wife Mary found dead in New York home in apparent suicide

The mother-of-four was found dead in her Mount Kisco home Wednesday but there have yet to be formal reports about the exact cause of death.

This is very sad indeed for all concerned, but, I am thinking primarily about the children. Being a Kennedy is not worth the ordeals that attend that family.
 
Robert Kennedy, 58, works as a radio show host, a political activist, and environmental lawyer. In addition to his four children with Mary- whose names are Conor, Kyra, William and Aiden- he has two older children from his first marriage.

He is the son of Robert F. Kennedy, the one-time presidential nominee who was assassinated just five years after his brother President John F. Kennedy was also shot dead.

This branch of the Kennedy family tree has had its share of tragedy.

Michael Kennedy, Robert Jr's younger brother, died during a skiing accident in Aspen when some family members were playing football while on skis and were not wearing helmets. He crashed into a tree during the December 1997 incident and died, which came shortly after his family's babysitter claimed he had a sexual relationship with her when she was only 14 years old.

David Kennedy, the brother immediately following Robert Jr. in the family's line of succession, died of an apparent drug overdose in 1984.

Yes, it's almost unbelievable all the disastrous events that sadly have fallen upon that family, there is even something called The Kennedy Curse or The Kennedy tragedies, created by the news media, to describe the series of events involving members of the Kennedy family.

I've always thought the "Kennedy Curse" was crap. Large family, lots of money, and loads of hubris (among the males anyway).

Which has nothing to do with the tragedies that have befallen them. Good to see the milk of human kindess flowing so strongly.

It was hubris and poor judgement that claimed his life.

I will say this. I felt a loss when he died, I had hoped that he would have entered public service as I have a great admiration for his family's contributions to society. John Kennedy-Jr. struck me a fallible human being, he failed the New York bar and took it again, he seemed sincere in his efforts. He appeared to the most human of the Kennedy clan.

I understand what you are saying .... and may be he was not the most perfect of human beings ... all I am saying is that he didn't have to die that way .... he could have lived his life as a failure or whatever .... but the way he left this earth only perpetuates to the Kennedy Curse.

Yeah, or getting killed in World War II. Or being assassinated by nutjobs. Or dying in airplane crashes. What in the hell is wrong with those people?
