Did anybody notice that the kid in the video throwing the sucker punch is wearing a hoodie? It's too bad the area doesn't have a neighborhood watch. But after the Martin/Zimmerman tragedy would anybody have even challenged him?

I used to live in the St Petersburg area and traveled to MacDill a great deal. The area around MacDill is not safe. It is run down, impoverished, has hourly motels and many coin operated laundromats(presumably for the same purpose). The rule of thumb is you do not leave your car for any reason. Violence is an ordinary occurrence with both civilian on military and military and domestic violence. It was a very sad state of affairs when I was living there. Obviously it still is. I do miss renting boats from the base and tooling around Tampa Bay I would stop and have lunch at a tiny deserted island and fall asleep while lying on the beach after lunch. However, it is a crap hole, very stressful and a terrible place to be. The case that sticks in my mind is when a "Tampa, Florida army wife, shot and killed her 2 children for what she called "being mouthy."

It is illeagal to wear a mask to hide yor identity, a hoodie does the same thing. They are especially effective with security cameras and maybe they should be outlawed.

Resisting arrest is highly recommended, so deadly force can be applied and no trial to squeeze through, the loopholes

Its a win, win solution

afghanistan is safer than alot of parts in the us,you probably have higher odds of getting in a carwreck than you would getting killed over there.

Yes, I would hope people are afraid to follow and murder random people walking down the street who are minding their own goddamned business but happen to be wearing a hoodie, while black.

US soldiers win every fight in Afghanistan because they are ready for action. But no one expects to be constantly ready to fight on their own soil.

Had this guy been allowed to carry the same weapons on US soil that he carried overseas me thinks this wouldn't have happened.

Yes, don't abrogate someone's right to carry assault rifles and machine guns. We need to have the fashion police go out and make sure nobody is wearing a certain kind of sweatshirt.

Florida isn't that bad. I have a brother in Florida, and he likes it there. Yea, Florida has problems, but it depends where you go. Michigan is a nice place to live, but I wouldn't be caught dead on the west side of Detroit. The point I am making is that you are going to have crap like this no matter where you live.

You tell it! And people on another thread are talking about how dangerous Mexico is. I once lived in Florida for a decade. I have traveled to Mexico more times than I can count. The only place I've been assaulted was in Florida. The only placed I've been robbed was in Florida. I got my first CCW in Florida at a cop's recommendation. I had friends who were robbed, set upon and scammed in Florida. If you don't know what you are doing or where you are going in Florida it can be a dangerous place.
