Final insult of Qaeda clowns

I'm not. I like the United States because its legal structures, for the most part, don't devolve into the kind vigilante nonsense that groups like Al Qaeda engage in. If they had been killed before trial, I would have been tremendously disappointed.
 
Why is it that these wastes of flesh and oxygen are on trial? They are not Americans. They do not have any Constitutional Rights. The only mercy they should have been given would have been a quick, brutal death; then their remains (what little there was) should have been thrown into a roadside ditch for the crows and other scavengers to feast on. They never even should have spent a day in US custody.

Of course this is all built upon by their demand today (as I hear it on the radio) that all women in the courtroom be dressed in traditional Islamic garb. This is nothing more than a circus for them. Execute them and be done with it.

I dont think we should have denied their trial, I think they should have stood trial long long ago. Furthermore, in any courtroom if you are this disruptive you are removed so you cannot continue. No idea why they were allowed to do this.

I never said, and didnt mean to imply, that they shouldnt have been given a trial. I am saying they should have stood trial well before now.

I hate to address a post like this, but aren't you ignoring say.. 7 or so years worth of republican leadership?
 
Some of my points have ben made in previous posts. But I think this all matters, more than the attention it is receiving.

Let me say first that I support neither Republicans or Democrats. I am not a liberal or a conservative. My personal politics are based entirely on logic, and that is a concept that is absolutely alien to the career politicians who sort of control us or even my fellow Americans.

1) Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his fellow terrorists have been in custody for a very long time. This, in itself, I find unfathomable. Why were these people not tried long ago? Did Little Bush kick this can down the road?
2) One of my arguments against the use of torture is that by America legitimizing torture, we will have it used against us in the future. To us, the people are terrorists. To them, they are war heroes that have suffered torture and imprisonment.
3) I would have preferred this case to be brought to civilian courts. It should have ben and it could have been if it weren't the NIMBY mentality that has now put the Military in the Justice business (and as a side note has leaking containers of radiation all around the country).
4) To expect any reaction other than the antics we are seeing is pretty foolishly optimistic. Try to mentally exchange places with them and imagine you have been captive in a victorious Afghanistan for a decade because you were a military or CIA contractor. You've been tortured, isolated and have no hope of seeing blue sky again. Now you are taken to a show trial whose outcome is already morally certain. How would you behave? With dignity or with anger?

I don't think we have much to be proud of here but at the very least, we are holding a public trial and the accused will probably have a vigorous defense. Anyone that is charged under the American justice system is entitled to the same treatment as we would give our spree killers.

One thing I must say in favor of our new methodology, drone warfare, is that it eliminates the trials and the consequences. Is that good or bad? We shall see.
 
I think a nice courtside lunch would be a Chef Salad loaded with ham and bacon bits, a BLT sandwich, and for dessert chocolate dipped bacon on a stick!

Should have had thier "fair trial" 10 years ago, there never should have been a push for civillian court and this should have been resolved a long time ago. These savages are mocking the families and continuing to terrorize them with these antics. You didn't lose anyone that day, so it's not very real to you. When criminals act up like this in US court they put bags on thier heads, shackle them and drag them back to holding cells and conduct trials from video chat or in absentia....


why are these war criminals being treated differently?

ahh so you are saying I am a terrorista? You do know, while serving my country, much of my fighting time was protecting muslims from savages like those you compared me to. I along with those I've served with have put ourselves at greater risk avoiding civillian casualties. Whereas these savages you compared me to, seek to cause as many civillian deaths as possible.

While what they did is tasteless, making a paper airplane and putting it on a microphone and giving a thumbs up at people is hardly something a court would put a bag over your head and shackles for. Just saying.

As to the OP ... I find myself beside myself, or outside of myself when thinking about how I would handle this situation if I was calling the shots. I've made it very clear on this forum and elsewhere that I applaud TORTURE (ooo dirty word I know) to these sub-humans, and if means lowering ourselves to exact some justice then I'm perfectly ok with it. Wouldn't bat an eye and would even be first in line to carry out the exercise. I say we Do drag them through the streets and have our citizenry piss all over them, throw pork at their bleeding bodies and anything else I can creatively think up. AND then I televise the whole event so the world can also see that we ain't sitting back and will not allow oursleves to be crippled by an antiquated justice system that had no idea of the evils that men can do.. :)

I wouldn't condone torture, I condone a quick trial. then when convicted sending thier severed heads back to whateve yemenise or pakistani village AQ is hiding out in.

There's zero evidence they're guilty in the 9/11 plot. All that's known is that the US govt. says they're guilty based on heresay.

Actually I think all of them have admitted to it. The only one I don't think admitted to the 9/11 plot that is on trial is the person who admitted to killing Pearl. Either way, there is indeed evidence.

I'm all for conducting trials when guilt is uncertain, but if they are admitting to it, the trial should be short and justice swift.
