Security checks eased for Atlanta airport hires | Nation & World | The Seattle Times

The TSA has given Atlanta's busy airport permission to issue security IDS to workers before background checks are completed because of "extended" delays in the process.

A memo from the airport administration to employers says the Transportation Security Administration is allowing airport and airline workers to receive security passes once they've been fingerprinted. But they don't have to wait for the results of a so-called security threat assessment.

I fail to understand how the people who are responsible for security have such horrible security protocols.
