Man Beaten By Mob, Arrests Expected Today

They weren't "standing their ground"? Isn't that the standard in play?

I guess one needs to stand your ground against basketballs and kids chasing them into your yard.

Gimme, you know that is different.

You don't stand your ground by fleeing only to return later with a brutish mob of bastards.

That's not how the law works. If you try to mug me, and I then escape only to return with a shotgun to shoot you at close range, am I following the law?

That certainly be a hate crime.

As defined by the hate crimes law? It sounds like some kind of retaliation, but it doesn't even make sense since these people weren't involved with the actual case.

Not when they tresspassed on his property.
Go ahead with that in front of a judge or jury counselor....lol.

Knives against kids with basketball....yeah, that flies.

Beautiful! People like you lose your mind when a black kid pounding a mans head into the pavement is shot by said hispanic man...and then you find lameass ways to excuse and justify the mob beating by 20 of one. You and people like you are...in the most direct of terms..."the problem".

You are correct. I find it disgusting how these same people who jumped on Zimmerman are now doing their best to excuse the mob's action.

Dood shoulda known better to be gay in A Town...the homies were just standing their ground yo...protecting their turf...its all how you interpret it.

Um, they go into a yard to retrieve a ball, grumpy old man comes at them with knives in hand.

If you are threatened, don't you get to stand your ground?

If you go onto to someones property and they come at you with a knife, you leave. You cannot beat his ass down unless he chases you off his property.

Do you have ANY evidence you're not a hypocrite on the issue of race on this forum?...

lol.....you're asking me to prove a negative!!!

that's some funny stuff. Do you have any evidence that I'm a hypocrite on race in this forum?

Got any bases for your silly accusation? I thought not.

How in the hell were they standing their ground? Some of you people are disgusting to be justifying this type of behavior.

and yet, you think it was well & good for Zimmerman to gun down a man walking home with Skittles & a hoody.

Has the president spoken out about this? Has he come out and said this is wrong, this is not America??? Has he said anything about the white 13 year old boy that 2 blacks set on fire or the two black men to found a white man walking alone and attacked him and beat him down and kicked him in the head until unconscious for Trayvon?

Have the parents of Trayvon spoken out about this? Has Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Frederica Wilson, Bobby Rush?

Honestly, this is just the political aspect of the issue. It's not any of those people's duty or job to defuse political fall out and mob mentality over a pending legal case. A woman like Casey Anthony was ran off the road and verbally insulted in Florida, but Anthony's lawyers and family made no comments. The Martins and Zimmermmans have enough to deal with right now.... a dead son, a son looking at serious charges, and highly followed trial on the way.

Taking responsibility or trying to alleviate social ignorance and violence isn't something I'd expect Trayvon's family or Zimmerman's family to do.

I honestly think it's better that both sides stay out of the political aspect of this case, and try to play PR to the public. That's not their job nor the jobs of their lawyers.

Huh...so you are saying that when someone comes at you with a knife, you cannot defend yourself....OK
You cannot beat his ass down unless he chases you off his property.
Hmm....now you are contradicting yourself. Which is it....can you defend yourself...or not?

PS...he wasn't in his yard....it was his sister's.

Maybe he feared for his sister's life being threatened by the basketball.

Time will tell.

That is irrelevant, Thunder. You don't fully know the circumstances of that case. It's besides the point. We do know, though, that the media has been deafeningly silent on this case.

sorry, but its a simple fact that apdst has said some racist and anti-Semitic things in this forum.

That is completely irrelevant to the issue at hand.

Crap. Finally I found a "current event" thread that had nothing to do with Martin/Zimmerman. I was getting ready to post what a horrific thing to have happened, and comment about the "mob mentality" when... duh... it really IS a Martin/Zimmerman thread wrapped with a disguise and a bow. :2mad:

I was expecting it

I think what I said was pretty clear but I wiill try to explain it better.

You cannot just go onto someones elses property. that is trespassing. You are breaking a law. If that person pulls out a knife and demands that you leave then you cannot assault that person. That is not self defense.

If you leave, or are attempting to leave and that person continues to chase you, and catches you, then you can legally defend yourself.

There is no contradiction there.

or you simply haven't been reading.

No, there are many aspects to trespass, and as I said, it wasn't his property. Trespass won't work since it wasn't his property, and kids getting a bball do not require knives as a defense.

Note: I not defending an act by a mob, if that is the case, just giving some bait for catch.

do you know how many cases there are of blacks killing whites versus the reverse?

I am sure both races kill more of their own than each other.

you don't know for sure what happened any more than I do.

and yet, you believe Zimmerman's story 100%.

I know there more to the story that what you are posting. You say Zimmerman just gunned down martin while he was walking home which is not true. ALso I have never said that I believe Zimmerman 100%. I have told you repeatedly there is no evidence to discredit his self defense claim beyond a reasonable doubt. You have to try harder if you want to discredit me.

I can't wait for the next case of domestic assault in the US to make it t the pages of DP.

This is fun!

Fair enough. I thought it was his property. If I am mistaken I apologize. However, any action that can legally be justified would have had to have happened why he was threatening with the knife.
