Military Cancels Ted Nugent Performance Citing Violent Rhetoric About Obama

That's exactly what it's about. Not only was it aimed at the CIC, but more specifically, aimed at Obama and we all know how thin skinned he is.

your missing the point, the military are gov funded and can not be seen taking sides in political debate. It would be highly inappropriate for the military to host Nugent after his comments, I would expect the same if it was a comment directed at a conservative Rep.

Ted has always been very vocal and honest regarding his political opinions. I saw him open for KISS in 2000. In the middle of his set he did a rant (in his own way) regarding what pieces of scheit California politicians were. All the liberals, of course. Lasted about 10 minutes. He held nothing back.

I have no first hand knowledge, but given who we are talking about and his reputation, it would not surprise me that he has spoken similarly about President Obama many times before, with the ONLY difference being that this incident was caught by the media.

To use your 'logic' then there is a laundry list of performers who are in the same Dixie Chick boat.

None volunteered to go so all are as 'bad'.

President Obama is thin skinned??? Might I suggest any minority attempting to climb to the Commander in Chief's Position was to be thin skinned he wouldn't make it past mayor. I think you are inventing this stuff as you go along.

Didn't seem to bother them, when they invited Nugent to participate in the concert, to begin with. They already knew his politics.

Why invite him, to begin with? Obviously, it has more to do with hurting Barry's little feewings, than not wanting to seen as taking sides, politically.

When did I make any such comment?

This is the biggest cry baby prez we've ever had. Deal with it.

Which begs the question: If the Army didn't want to take sides, politically, why did they invite him, to begin with?

his politics are not the issue its the manner he chose to express them.

That's not what Ft. Knox is claiming.

A spokesman for Fort Knox told TheBlaze.com that having Nugent perform "would be a conflict of interest since the military has the obligation to be apolitical."

If they were really interested in being apolitical, they should have never invited him.

I attended an REO Speedwagon concert roughly 8-10 years ago where lead singer Kevin Cronin whined about President Bush, so I guess they should be canned as well.

By your standards, most certainly. I mean, don't you agree that anyone who criticizes any president, shouldn't be allowed to perform at a military installation? That's been the argument from the git-go.

Must be different, when it's not Obama.

You complained the Chicks never played for the troops after 2003, using that 'standard' dozens of performers are as 'bad'.

The Military Base belongs to the Commanding General through the Base Commander, any civilian attempting to claim any part as his or deciding to run the PX his way will soon lean just who owns a military base.

But you knew that, why such drivel?

I never complained. I only pointed out why the Chicks haven't played anymore shows for our service members.

The post commander is the commanding general. What the hell are you even talking about?

Fort Knox belongs to the American People; unless the, "of the people, by the people and for the people", part has been removed and no one told me.

Was it?

President Obama is the Commander-in-Chief of our military.

Mr. Nugent called for Obama to be killed.

Mr. Nugent, has no business performing in front of our soldiers.

You'd think with all the "celebrities" donating to the Obama Campaign, the President could at least talk a few of the entertainers into doing a little something for the troops.

I went looking for USO tours and guess what I found. The only folks that go overseas to the more "dangerous" places are the Country Music folks.

Not one swinging "schantz" from Hollywood, not one "rocker". Gary Sinise, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, are the only big names I could found. There are some NFL players that visit. But as for the that bunch Hollywood p*ss heads, they're all no shows.

Military Cancels Ted Nugent Performance Citing Violent Rhetoric About Obama | Stop The Presses! (NEW) - Yahoo! Music

Don't honestly care about Mr. Nugent's politics but this is good. Our military can't be seen as supporting somebody who openly attacks the president. However it is interesting that Mr Nugent has no problem playing for the federally funded troops and getting a federal pay check to do so.

If it was Ozzy, Aerosmith, the byrds, lynyrd skynyrd, CCR, the Eagles, ZZ top, Kiss, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, J. Geils Band or any other great rock act I would agree with the sentiment of giving money back, but for Ted "washed up fake hunter" Nugent? I would not think it warranted giving back money as the man has not been a musical success IMHO for ages and even in the day he was not really that great to begin with.

Why is it so interesting that Ted Nugent would want to entertain the people who are serving our country?

Are you questioning his patriotism, just because he criticized the president?

Nugent is interested in one thing and only one thing: his own far right extremist agenda.

And the guy has as much in common with true patriotism as vomit does with the smell of roses.

There you go again.

He said that if Obama was reelected "this time next year I'll either be in jail or dead". He did not say he was going to off the President.

um....its called "connecting the dots".

The Secret Service can do it, why can't you?

no, Ted did not call for the President to be killed.

True, but you know the Libbos are going to go bezerk over anything that anyone says about The Messiah.

They don't seem too phased when Leftists say thing like, "Or, I could have gone to 1600 Pennsylvania and killed the real bird with one stone."

Oh, that's...diiiiiiiifereeeeeeeent.

Yea, I watched folks connect the dots all week. They connected them so quickly they had the rope in hand without having even gotten the final report from the Secret Service. It's called mob mentality.
