Witnesses said the woman repeatedly shot Golden, took the infant and sped away, hitting the dying mother as she screamed “my baby” and tried to reach into the Lexus, Norris said. Witnesses also reported hearing as many as seven gunshots and said a man also was in the Lexus, which is blood-stained on the driver’s side, Norris said.

First, I hope the baby is safe and that he is found and placed with family. Second, I hope the scum responsible for this fry. Absolutely tragic, senseless action.

Mother shot dead, newborn abducted outside doctor’s office near Houston; woman sought - The Washington Post

The lady arrested stole another boy 8 years ago and he has not been found yet. Praying he is alive.

I'm very curious to know what happened here. Did the shooter and the victim know each other? How did the police know where to look for the baby to recover him so quickly, and apparently safe and sound?

My first instinct is that the shooter wanted to steal a baby and was caging the pediatric center for a victim. I will further assume that the shooter is a drug addict, and was almost certainly high when she committed the crime.

Superb work by the Houston PD results in a child still alive under extraordinary circumstances. Good on them.

Why is the media so quiet, seeing that a black woman killed a white woman?

Media quiet? Tessie just cited the Washington Post...a DC-based paper reporting about a crime in TEXAS. That doesn't sound quiet to me.

It's garnered not nearly as much interest and outrage as the Z/M case. If the shoe were on the other foot it's likely there'd be an outrage lead by the likes of Al Sharpton, etc. Maybe even a bounty or two.

I am in Houston, and saw this on the news last night.
Based on the timing and how quickly they got the baby back, I am thinking
the man driving the car, had no idea what was going down.
He called the cops, as soon as he was out of range. ( also to keep from being an accessory)
I don't think crazy has a race, This lady is crazy!
The baby's mother should be remembered as a hero, it took 7 shots to keep her from getting back to her baby.

Will you post if you hear or read anything about funds being set up for the little boy and his family? I can't imagine what everybody involved is going through.

How is it that there are still people out there who still don't get it despite numerous explanation about the difference which shouldn't be needed to be explained in the place.

In this case, the woman was arrested immediately the next day and charged with capital criminal offense which would face the death penalty. I'm sure she would claim not guilty for whatever reason she could come up, such as mistaken identity by witnesses or surveillance camera.

It's not like the DA had blocked the lead detective from filing charges in such a short period of time or that the police chief came out in her defense and said we could not prove her claim false (no finger print or DNA, etc) and thus had to let her walk free due to lack of probable cause.

Now she wasn't let go after being in custody, was she? And she didn't just walk free for weeks in a row with no further legal action as in Zimmerman's case but is immediately arrested and charged so speedily where justice for the murdered victim is well served if not hastily, so why would you expect that there be any outrage from anybody?

Let me add: This case has nothing to do with Zimmerman's. So, please don;t drag it on.

What? Witnesses said the woman was blonde. I haven't read any news article that indicated that either woman was black. In fact, none of the articles I've read indicated the race of either the victim or the killer.

Okay, thanks. Clearly not a "blonde woman", as one article stated. Do you presume the victim was white because the infant appears white in the picture? One article I read indicated that the killer was planning to pass the baby off as her own, which is rather delusional if she's black and the child is white.

Bah, horrible, senseless tragedy all the way around.

I don't know. I do know that this case is definitely different from the M/Z case, now.
